[Archived] Rovers 3 - 0 Colchester Utd

Decent performance, thanks to davison for the first goal and denting there confidence! Easier than i thought, hope we get a lower division team in round 5! -
Player Power! As we keep getting told the players hold all the cards. If he doesn't want to go, newcastle can hold on to him or loan him out!
-
If it means he leaves for a lower price, then i can hardly see the point. At least if he stays happy for the time being we get 1/2 a season out of him stay up and then get our £6mil. Or we have an unhappy player who we still pay the wages of and won't want to play for us! Gers may then play awkward knowing he is unhappy and wait for us to cave in!

I read on SSN earlier that dickov is a doubt with a groin strain! Don't know if this is right! But i don't think hughes would risk him if he has strained it! -
A Rather interesting article! Telegraph "Rangers manager Alex McLeish believes that Ferguson has become a better footballer for his brief spell in the Premiership but Murray wishes to insure the club against any recurrence of that problem, or any others related to that injury. He also took the wise, but uncommonly cautious, step of making the first year of new central defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos's agreement a loan deal, with a permanent contract kicking in immediately after he proves his long-term fitness."
-
It seems obvious that he has told JW and MH that he wants to stay but would ultimately like to move back to rangers! But then if this is true then why the transfer request(think thats of viola's doing). There is no way JW would want to keep a player unless he said he would give his all for the club and wants to stay for the near future. If he wanted to move so much he could offer to pay the extra £2million! is that hell freezing over!
-
I have to think you're right, we will get in a loan striker and leave baz playing in a few games. Rangers will ship out there deadwood...which is half there team to be honest. Much similar to our players who we don't use! They will ahve more space on the wage bill and no dobut have more money to spend. If they desire his return so much they can up there offer before we have to pay £2.5million in august!
-
And the teams that do, can't afford his wages and he wouldn't want to move to gretna anyway!

The referee had already screwed up the first major decision of the evening before he awarded the penalty; the challenge from Nolan on Savage was x-rated and clearly warranted a red card. As did, according to the Laws, Brad's foul, since he denied an obvious goal scoring opportunity. Since Brad wasn't sent off, I can only assume that the ref must have been having second thoughts about the legitimacy of his call He looked unsure but didn't want to change his mind. He could have gone to his assistant and had a chat and then changed his mind. But player reaction could ahve told him it wasn't a penalty. As for his lack of red cards for both diouf(elbow) and nolan(2footer on sav) he should be investigated as to why he did not send them off and why he didn't send brad off if he was so sure it was a penalty!
-
The ref was about 15-20 yrds back when Brad came out to close Diouf down and had 2/3 rovers players obstructing his view When the challange came in he was just outside the box and had a perfect view there were no rovers players in the way. He was as far back as lucas and lucas knew it was not a penalty! izzetnot: He didn't dive for the second one but it was outside the box! and for the first i thought it was a pen as taylors legs meant he had a choice of treading on taylor or jumpin over him. If impeaded in his stride is that not a penalty.
-
Bennet had no excuse for it. He had an amazing view! He dived at the blackburn end last season for liverpool and got a pen for them then. He should be handed a large ban and as for the elbow on toddy that was a disgrace and why wasn't he sent off instead of only being booked. How nolan got away with that monster of a 2 footer on sav i will never know. another 3 points for divers and blind refs!

Do you think the "moronic" fans know what a computer is never mind how to get on the internet? I spose st andrews will be deadly quiet again apart from the far end. First season in the prem the stadium was alight with singing even when yorke scored to beat you. Then it was dead when we beat you 4-0 & wasn't much more alive when you beat us in the fa cup. The good thing is away fans have there own nice little safe compound and a fair few stewards and police around. If there are any problems we could always steal the chauffeur that savage could have had!
-
He hasn't conducted himself well? Only thing he said was true and that was by moving to rovers he could live nearer to his family. He lived in stratford whereas he is talking about living in cheshire. I know which is nearer to wrexham, does karen brady? Maybe we could get her a map! I wouldn't say you signed our rejects, more the players souness fell out with, those who were too inconsistent or where we had better players at the club. Dunn is a fantastic player on his day trouble is he has more off days than on and he spends most of his time on the physios bench. Taylor isn't a fantastic player but with the right coaching could become alot better. DJ is useful, jeff was a legend and i won't even start on yorke! Savage didn't have a problem playing for the reserves(i was there), i think he objected to the brum board trying to use him as a way of getting press coverage. Its perfectly correct that if a club falls out with a player he should be out of the first team setup. But take barry ferguson, exactly the same senario, we have not said much on it and are just letting it all go and if rangers come up with the money great if they don't he wil be in the team playing, mainly because he doesn't hate our club, unlike savage did after teh way he was treated for doing what in modern terms is not unusual. A club has no moral dilema telling a player to get lost as soon as he is not needed, however as soon as a player hands in a transfer request he is the centre of all evil because he isn't fulfilling his contract. As for sulivan its his fault teh media circus happened. If he had done what most clubs do which is be quiet it would ahve been alot better for everyone involved. They may have turned the club around but it hasn't done anything for your reputation, and how do you think players will feel knowing that could happen to them if they decide they wish to leave the "big" club.
-
If that is true then the goons at Birmingham should pay the policing bill, granted that Savage plays. They are the ones who have made a simple transfer turn into a massive safety concern, for both crowd and club staff. From what gold said it is written into the deal that he cannot play this season vs brum at st andrews... As he was scared of him scoring the goal to relegate them!
-
Great??? Good dummy by Gallagher. Didn't you see the way he looked up saw that there was an opportunity then put perfect spin & pace on it to stop galli touching it while letting him put off the keeper! Think we are due some luck to be honest! Would be happy with nissa in at left back and mokoena at cb. Thought lucas had a very good attacking game and did ok defensively just fell slightly asleep for the 1st goal!
-
just seen the goals on MOTD, thommo's first was an awesome finish! Great second aswell from distance. MGP with a tidy little back post tap in aswell! Thank god thats over now a home tie to colchester! Savage's debut next! (he was on MOTD highlights aswell! looked very happy with thommos goal!
-
wasn't having a go, i just wasn't too sure i think its sorta 4-4-1-1 MGP just behind dickov! We are looking very very very nervous! if its a draw it goes to ET then Pens!
-
erm 4-4-2!
-
Penalty appeal turned down for a "cast iron" penalty and there was no contact on the ball when emmo was taken out! brads working over time saves a 1 on 1 vs thorne!
-
3-2! balls! brad made a good first save only for a second shot!
-
Get in! Theres only 1 MGP! 3 in 3! (from rovers world match live) 46:56 Cross by Lucas Neill(Blackburn), goal by Morten Gamst Pedersen(Blackburn) left-footed (bottom-right of goal) from left side of penalty area (6 yards).Blackburn 3-1 Cardiff. Assist (cross) by Lucas Neill(Blackburn) from right channel.
-
maybe his cross was a really short one in order to fool the cardiff defence. Which he then ran onto and placed perfectly through about 4 players into the corner!
-
so thompson is literally all over the pitch well i think it means he crossed it and it sort of somehow ended up in the net!!! Almost got a third but for a good save!
-
yes get in! don't know who sccored! o its thommo! I think lucas feels under alot of pressure to perform now! edit: 31:30 Cross by David Thompson(Blackburn), goal by David Thompson(Blackburn) right-footed (bottom-left of goal) from right channel (30 yards).Blackburn 2-1 Cardiff (from rovers world match live)
-
