  1. Yes but Den, how can we possibly vote for someone we have never seen play?

Also, for all you ladies reading this, I am the best looking bloke in the world even though you have never seen me.  Den should be able to back this up even though he hasent seen me either  tongue.gif

Cocker, I'm sure I just tried to explain all that.

    bob fleming:

I've written a few lines on Gennoe - maybe not the best few lines anyones ever written about him but at least I've had a go. We need people who have seen the "older" players to put a good case forward for their inclusion in the "all time BRFCS XI" - then when "nominations" are in everyone can have a vote.

I might be completely wrong but I'm sure there are people on here who can write a glowing testamonial on Ronnie Clayton that will convince even the youngest of fans that he should make the team.

    den:

The whole idea of having the discussion before the vote, is for some of the older members to give some of the younger members a bit of an insight into how good [or elsewise] some of the players from before our time, really were.

I mean, I've never seen Bob Crompton, but there will be many reasons for his inclusion at Right Back!

I was always told to read more now I know why

    Cheers Den

  2. Is it to be the greatest player in that position or just the best player each person saw? What does everyone else reckon?

    Important one that, FLB.

We need everyone to make a judgement as to who was/is the greatest ever player in that position.

Not exclusively the best player they have personally seen.

I would go for Harry Leyland, who I never saw, if someone who did see him, put a persuasive argument forward.

We'll only get one go at choosing this team, so let's have a good discussion before we vote and let's all have an open mind.

Remember, we are looking for the best rovers team ever.

  3. Have to go along with pretty much everything Paul has said.

I only got to see the hightlight programme on Sky last night (which is class) however, I was quite confused.

Watched Soccer Saturday yesterday and from the reports coming back from Chris Kamara we hardly touched the ball and it was all Brom however, after sticking the game on last night I couldnt work out what he was talking about. The 50-60 mins of game that I saw Rovers were pretty much on top all along.

They had a lucky free kick (a 5 year old could have buit a better wall with lego)

Emerton looked good on the ball (in my opinion) but someone has got to tell the lad that at the end of a run you are aloud to shoot

As someone has said already, Matteo made to many clumsy errors but I would still start him at the back

Amo - IF YOU PASS BACK TO THE KEEPER THEN MAKE SURE YOU GET THE BALL TO HIM

Stead - dont be to harsh on him. He could have had a couple of good chances but Ped didnt pass

I usually hate Yorke but thought he did well yesterday (could have shot a little more)

My man of the match though was Gray. If Brett needs some lessons in how to run at people and then get it to a man at the end of it then stick him with Gray - first class

If people agree or disagree with the above I dont care - its just good to have a rant every now and then (mainly on a Sunday morning)

  4. This is the only sour note on something that I am really looking for.

I was really happy when I read that Yorke was last choice (even behind Matty) Souey had looked to have backed this up to but 'tough man Souey' backs down again. YORKE NEEDS TO STOP LIVING OFF HIS PAST GLORIES.

He has 1 more chance from me now and thats only because he will be in blue and white tomorrow tinykit.gif

  5. Patrick Barclay in the Sunday Telegraph argued today that Norwich and West Brom might stay up. Who are under threat if this happens? We are, along with Everton and maybe Portsmouth. If so, it might be a must win game!!

Sounds to me like he is just trying to stand out from the crowd.

    Arsenal to win league again

Norwich and Brom to go down and one other

    Rovers - 3 Brom - 0

    Stead (2)

    Fergy (1)

  6. Head injury or no head injury he's better than all the other strikers (Stead excepted) give him an extended run.

Maybe Souness was riding pillion when the taxi hit him. Seems that all we've done is replace good players with average players.

I absolutely agree with this. He may not be what he was but whenever I have seen him play he is still better than anything else we have. He should be in the first team as he is now.

    Here Here.

Souey Souey give him a run

Souey Souey give him a run

Souey Souey give him a run

Souey Souey give him a run

Souey Souey give him a run

Souey Souey give him a run

Souey Souey give him a run

Dont know if anyone will get my point

  7. Streets - a grand don't come for free!

Not a massive fan of the streets but listened to this album last night and was totally into it - had to listen all the way through to see what happened in the story (those who have it will know what I mean)

  8. i cant ###### belive jansen has lost his number 10 squad number to ###### paul @#/? dickov!!

what the (Please don't use that word again) is going on??? mad.gifmad.gifmad.gif

the first @#/? signs to heading for the exit door!!

at least stead has the no9, he deserves it.

Calm down. Squad numbers now a days dont mean anything. There used to be a time where numbers 1 to 12 were your team - not anymore so just chill sunshine chill

  9. Yep - got it. The Charlatans "Up At The Lake". It's good. You have to play it a few times though to get the "vibe". Bit different again to their other stuff. I must admit that it's not one of my favourites of theirs though.

The thing I like about them though is that most of their tunes are propper toe tappers that you can sing along to when you get back from the pub with your mates. You cant beat a good toe tapper

the fact is mr souness has repeatedly said premiership survival is our aim,he has give the cup's the elbow and made our qualifacation for europe meaningless with his team selection.

I cant believe Souey's attitude! The way to do well is to go into every game with a belief that it can be won. Whilst putting out your best team and play them in the positions they should be played. Can you imagine the team talk for the cup game "Right lads, I'm not saying throw the game away but we don't care about winning this and were not bothered about the other cup either in fact when we play our next Premiership game KNOW YOUR LIMITS and play like a bunch of nobodies. Our aim is to turn into Spurs and finish mid table every season and bore the fans to death.

Well, I have gone a little over the top but there is a point in there somewhere
