  1. Wasn't Robbie Cotton going to be the next big thing? The 'next Steven Gerrard' according to someone.

Thought it was good old Keano who was bigging him up ,. Must have been a decent %vol wine being downed the night before his comments in the house with no dog or perhaps the lad had just signed with a new agency :)

  2. R Hanley, O'Sullivan

Edwards and O'Connell have left haven't they? Is Tim Payne still with us?

Ironically one player did from that match did make a regular starting berth in our first team. Chelsea's Todd Kane...

Payne left due to work permit issues apparently, Oçonnell to Brentford, Edwards to Morecambe I think. didn't we release Hanley and he went to a prem club?

  3. Scabby. Southampton really shouldn't be proud of that. In contrast I'm really proud of our young lads this evening. Pushing a very good side laden with PL debutants very close to the wire.

Let's hope that some of these lads can push on, and some of them even be given opportunities around the first team. I wonder how we'd have done with O'Sullivan and Lenihan in the side. It'll be a travesty to them, and an insult to the U21s, if we don't see both play some part tomorrow evening.

Funny enough looked at the line ups the last time we were in the final against Chelsea a couple of years back to see how many broke through http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FA_Youth_Cup_Finals#2011.E2.80.9312:_Chelsea_vs_Blackburn_Rovers_.284-0_and_0-1.2C_4-1_Aggregate.29 obviously different circumstances this time round

  4. Anyone remember? Just wondering, cause he seems right to me. We look like a schoolboy side whilst other under 21s look like men's teams.

I think he said they were playing against lads a couple of years older than Rovers and it showed that tonight

  5. Bowyer might feel a bit of pressure if the U 21's win the cup.

Has GB ever won anything ?

    " Eric Kinder's blue and white army " :unsure::wacko::wacko:

Seems to have won the most important thing above all else at Venky's Ewood Park franchise, Mrs Desai's heart

  6. Breaking bad and sopranos I think are the greatest ever. Also love the walking dead. Been right through the topic and nobody has mentioned Gomorrah. I don't think it is very well known. Italian Mafia crime drama and is absolutely excellent - would highly recommend.

Is it based on the same book that the film was based on? As an aside the film is worth checking out (subtitled) ,not a glamorous hollywood production mafia style film, but more of a real life gritty view on things

  7. Who was the guy on radio rovers today? Was it Dan cough?? Was pretty much spot on, saying we have massively under performed all season... Just wasn't expecting the Rovers PR machine (you know what I mean) to have something so honest

Don't think it's Dan clough, but that particular Dan (Briggs, I think) on RR usually gives his views after the game and tbh usually calls a spade a spade unlike the other two

  8. Anybody else on here see The Smiths in Blackburn for 50p? Upstairs in the Elizabethan Suite above DJ's (previously Fernando's Wine bar. above what became C'est La Vie) at the movable feast that was the weekly Gum Club night...great gig, up there with the Jam, Clash, Motorhead, Killing Joke and Pogues - all fantastic KGH gigs.

Colne Francs use to have some decent bands on too, Southern Death Cult, King Kurt etc.

Good grief even the best sounds of today are drab and uniform compared to those days

Don't remember the gig at the Elizabethan suite but do remember the one at St Mary's college the night they released their first single standard english (always thought DC rip one of the tracks on B-side was better ). Think Inside Out was their defining glory though.

Did you ever see IQ Zero knocking about Blackburn same time as the Stiffs, quirky punk new wave sort of a mix of Devo and Xtc as I recall

Ah Francs , remember well a mad mad night there when the Meteors played

EDIT: oops ignore the above for some reason at the time read it as The Stiffs , not the Smiths. Did see that Smiths gig and also Manic St Preachers at the same place, also Three Johns, Ghost Dance and a couple of others who at present can't recall

  9. I wish they wouldn't call themselves punk,they are anything but ! :(

Anybody going to North west calling in Manchester next Saturday? Absolutely corking line up to celebrate the Punk-Father himself Charlie Harper's 70th birthday. It's going to be one messy do!

C'mon Bacup Blue, one of the bands on at Slam Dunk have an A in the O of their name to make an Anarchy sign!

  10. arrested development is the funniest show I've seen in a long long time, cant believe that I like so many others have only just found discovered it recently, even though it first started almost 10 years ago(Another thing we need to give thanks to Netflix for)

(I never thought id laugh so much at somebody doing a chicken dance or just say "It's me, Gene parmesan")

Certainly agree and to keep the level up over the many season's just proves its well written. Not a big fan of American comedy normally as it usually comes across as trying to hard to be funny, think the only other that maintained my level of interest over the full run of the show was Frasier again well written.
