The answers to this current fiasco don’t currently lie with sackings in the U.K. The answers lie with Venkys and the courts in India. The future of our club lies in India. If this situation is going to go on for any length at all - even another 12 months - Venkys need to act. Seems to me there’s very little time.
one more… Why would Maguire or his club even think of discussing a pre-contract deal for Maguire in the summer (as has been reported) with a club that currently can’t pay a fee?

The difference is that the LT is just a comments section. Fans make their comments and aren’t really held to task. Next day the topic has moved on.
This is a forum, it’s a place for debate. Discussions on any single topic can literally go on over years - and if you say something others don’t agree with then you’ll very likely be pulled up every time.
Its not the people who are different, it’s the media format that’s different.

Yeah I tend to agree with that den. I would certainly refuse to audio record any of my work related meetings.
Many years ago I, along with a number of other rovers fans regularly used to meet with JW and TF at Ewood to discuss plenty of quite relevant rovers related topics. Some fans might remember it.
JW told us that some of what was said had to remain confidential. If it wasn’t then he would simply deny ever having said it. I wouldn’t ever try to tell the trust members how to run their organisation but in my experience, in order to get a little more understanding of what really goes on at the club, confidentiality can be important.

The problem with recording meetings is that the club will be very careful what they say. That’s to no one’s benefit.

One of the things for me is the Adam Wharton sale and not because I’m entitled and didn’t expect him to be sold eventually but the symbolic nature of the whole situation.
I don’t and can’t support the thieves and gangsters in India and our boardroom like the fans who have walked away.
Still it’s my club , my team , my colours, my badge , my fans and my players so I go and get behind the lads (ffs)
Wharton was one of our own like a lot of the kids who came through the academy jack set up , and for this very reason . Now though Travis and Buckley get shipped to reduce wages and whartons gone and who am I supporting . Brighton and liverpools kids til the end of the season. Five loans in that’s half a team who won’t be here next year I have no affinity to .
It’s hard to get emotionally involved when you’re being ripped off and over priced, not given a second thought and constantly lied to. The farce of the transfer window (again) highlighting the lies/cock ups/ disjointed thinking of the whole set up and scattergun approach to it ,plus, the sale of our Adam shows there is no model or anything to have hope for or belief in to keep throwing your support behind.
Still I’ve been going on ewood for 30 years and I’ve met a lot of wonderful people. Can still have a beer and a social occasion and try and get involved in the on field “entertainment “. They can’t take that away from me….can they.
First sip of a pint and I mention the banner , you should be punched was the response from friends. I sit on the coach to away games and listen to 40 people slag off the venky out chants with the same usual guff and waffle repeated on here. Try and explain anything and I’m shot down by 30 people so I sit angry and disillusioned to Norwich or wherever on some other hellish journey .
So as a staunch defender of JDT I believe I look at him as a symbol of hope and a memory of what once was. I probably have blue n white tinted glasses to his tactics and how he sets up a team as just his enthusiasm and passion reminds me of what mine once was .
Now he wants out like lambert before him. We’re heading back to league one , I’m skint with a young family and I’m sat by myself over hundred quid light on the way back from Cardiff , work in the morning, usually by myself these days, surrounded by Venky sleeved shirts with names of players at other clubs on there back after watching Liverpool and Brighton’s future stars make there mistakes with the uttering and echos up and down the coach of I don’t know what they want ,20 million them angels pump in.
Ewood is a hallow shell filled with these Shaun of the dead zombies , gangsters crooks and criminals in the boxes around them, prices increasing why my kid kicks a ball into a bin for a charge .
it’s all getting to much for people . Even I’m getting to the point of having the rest of the season off just to re evaluate my life
Waggott, Broughton, the owners and everyone else involved in running rovers into the ground should read your post oldgregg and take in what you’re saying. I reckon you summarise so well how many fans feel - current and lapsed.
They should read it because only they can do something about it.

I know that our recruitment team did all the scouting and research on Duncan McGuire
and what guarantee does that give us?
I guess what I’m saying is that in summer the market is a lot bigger. The choices are greater. Why would we stick with paying a fee for a totally unproven player from a vastly inferior league?
we’ve just sold Wharton for c£20m and you would be happy with this? I wouldn’t.

he is unknown to us but our recruitment team have done their scouting and research on him.
we need to make a number of signings in the summer. Do you want a list of players we should be targeting this summer?
Did I ask for a list?

Someone explain to me why Rovers would go to the summer transfer window with Maguire - an unknown MLS footballer as their target?
Is that the limit of our ambition? -

However, he is the manager, he has no plan B and neither him or this squad could survive a relegation battle .
Time to go
and the same will happen to the next man.

There are still people in the comments defending the ownership. I don’t know how clear it has to be for them.
I blame the walker family. They didn’t care who they sold to.

I’m assuming JDT offered to walk away for free last summer, not this summer because the aim for the club was simply “stay up”. That was turned down and now they’ll have to sack him and pay up his contract.
Just for clarification. What a total shitshow.

This situation can’t go on. JDT is making his own position untenable.
I respect his honesty though.

Why on earth would Tomasson be in charge tomorrow and leave immediately after? Than just isn't going to happen. I think he might well leave soon but under those circumstances, never.
I can’t see how this situation can be resolved Arbitro.

This might be better here.
As for the transfer window…… well the club have known for quite some time what JDT wanted. He virtually told everyone what he wanted. They had time to plan both the sale of Wharton and the buying, or loaning of suitable targets.
What happened? Well IMO Wharton was sold without his agreement, none of that money was spent (and none will be) and as for the recruitment of players it appears that once again rovers finished up just taking whoever was still available on the last day of business.
How can any manager, with any ambition whatsoever accept that? It’s not an isolated transfer window for rovers, it happens every time. It will happen again in the summer.
I wouldn’t blame him if he walked. In some ways it might shake Waggott and Co up. I doubt it very much though. There isn’t a born and bred Blackburn Rovers man at the club is there?

The club couldn’t wait to get him out and get the money in. Couldn’t wait. They didn’t try in any way whatsoever to hang on to him.
Football is secondary at Ewood nowadays. Probably has been for a while in truth.

Wharton finally announced by palace
We will never see that money. Loans this window, nothing for permanent signings in the summer.
I’ll bloody swear by that.
