Didn’t Madonna say Waggot was on his way to the North East this morning to tie things up?

Has any one seen him round Ewood or Brockhall this morning?

Don't get me wrong I'd love to have him back providing the risk doesn't outweigh the cost.

Having had hamstring trouble myself in the last few years I know how hard it is to full remove the issue. Mentally as much as physically. Saying that his treatment will far outweigh my amateur Saturday league treatment of a cold sponge.

I had hamstring problem many years ago like you playing Sunday league.  Always tried to play too early and probably did more damage by doing so.  A mate who I played with said try rubbing this on your leg before you play and gave me a small tin of fiery jack. Applying most of the can and then going for a pi££ before playing still having this stuff all over my hands then began to realise how hot it was.  I honestly believed I could have played for England for the first half hour of that match as I covered so much ground in an attempt to keep my balls cool.

a bit off topic but your post reminded me of the said incident.

It was one of those games where it looked like a lot of individual battles going on around the pitch and a few sub plots, the kind of thing that undoes Rovers at times so I was pleased they stood up to it and we ended up bullying them.  Not sure what people expect of Nuttall but to me that's the best I've seen him in a Roves shirt he did his bit besides poaching that important first goal.

I think under Mowbray Rovers look to counter when they can and play football in patches and I think they tried that yesterday but they stopped us so we dug in. The strength of our bench along with it being used correctly was the telling factor for me just as it was for most of last season in league 1.  There are plenty teams where that can be applied against in the Championship that's why we should do ok, we are stronger than a lot of sides even n this league.

Exactly what I was trying to say but you put it far more eloquently than me.

Both to be fair, I think it was just one of those games that had to be toughed out, ok we could have been a bit more adventurous particularly on the right wing first half but we had a defensive winger on there obviously to stop them. They went out to stop us and the result up to a point looked all the world a nil nil grind but he did the right changes both tactically and personnel wise although some of it might have been forced and we turned into a win.

We've been on about grinding wins out for ages so yesterday we did it and I honestly reckon had we gone looking to play the tippy tappy powder puff stuff again yesterday we'd have lost comfortably. Maybe it's just an over reaction from me but I was happy to see us hand out some 'treatment' ourselves yesterday instead of wilting, never one for the purists but it was a typical Championship hard fought game

Spot on.  The game was awful and that was how it was always going to be.  From the kick off we where defending balls that where coming down with snow on them and every credit to both Lenihan and Rodwell who never flinched all night.  Credit also to Nuttall who did his share of defending as well as running the lone striker.  Don’t know how much ground he covered but it must have been very significant.

If we had played tippy tappy, we would have been murdered.  We actually played well under the circumstances and when we had mopped up the pressure and they had run out of steam by having to chase second balls from distance all evening, for once it was us who could pressure and score late on.

yes it was a dreadful game but our tactics where dead correct.

Great result if not easy on the eye, but that's football for you.

We were aggressive and out Millwalled them.

Armstrong was up for it when he came on, Travis, Lenihan and Rodwell were excellent.

Well done TM, probably won't get the credit he deserves but got his tactics and subs bang on today.

Think I'd start Smallwood and Evans midweek, give Reed and Travis a rest, we're only 6 points off play offs, save 'em for next Saturday.

I agree but let me add to that;  Nuttall, I thought was superb, I would like to see the stats of meters run, as not only was his movement up front exceptional he was always available at the back to pick up one of their “big lads”.

yes it was a poor game but you can only play what is in front of you and we did ok.

  6. Just as an aside and to Chuck the muck in the nettles.  Should there be a loan market at all?

Its all very well for the likes of Chelsea, City, United et al to keep mopping up young talent and then send them on loan with the hope they will come good but is it good for the game?  I think not.  If no loans where available then these youngsters may just think again when joining these clubs with another 100 youngsters at the same time and the result may be a more realistic or equal base for all clubs.

  7. Been depressed reading this board but it could be worse.  I see Forrest Gren have recalled Doidge from Bolton.  He was on loan with Bolton who had agreed to due to buy him in Jan for £1,000,000. Forrest Green in the meantime have been paying his wages for the first half of the season.  Bolton failed to pay first instalment on his transfer and subsequently now been recalled.  And I thought we where in trouble.

Not sure the quality of the signings is so much of an issue per se, the problem for me is that TM views them as merely bit part additions to the squad that won promotion, and is too loyal to the llikes of Graham, Conway, Bennett, Evans etc. There's no room for loyalty in football and if the manager feels the team can be improved by bringing in someone else then that's what should happen like when King Kenny sacrificed Speedie for Shearer. What we ireally needed were two or three big signings to go straight into and improve the team and replace the likes of Graham, Evans Bennett etc instead of a bit of messing about around the edges to add to the squad depth.

That said our current position isn't terrible but I hope that isn't as good as it gets this season and that we don't start to slide backwards at a rate of knots.

Yes but game against Wigan will tell.  We have been poor today, lacklustre to say the least and initial team selection did not help but having said that we got caught early which didn't help.  Our talisman, "Dack" is going through a patch, as all players do at times.  Wigan is now a big one and we will see how big Mowbray is with his team selection bearing in mind Wigan are not in the greatest form.  I fully expect Dack to be part of the starting 11 but if he plays as he has the last few games, I expect that Mowbray will bring him off after 45 to 55 mins.  This will determine how big Mowbray is.  If he bottles because of potential future transfer fee, then we will go backwards at a rate of knots!

                                        Leutwiler

    Nyambe        Lenihan               Mulgrew      Williams

                           Reed                    Smallwood

    Palmer                        Dack                         Rothwell

                                       Graham

Subs: Fisher, Rodwell, Travis, Bennett, Conway, Armstrong, Brereton

Hope we're a bit more positive with Evans out and play Reed central and play Palmer on the right. I also think Rothwell offers more than Armstrong (who has disappointed this season). Rotherham have only scored 3 goals in 8 away games picking up just 2 points so let's hope we take the game to them and start on the front foot. We don't want another drab lethargic performance like Saturday or against Millwall and Reading.  Both full backs need to be changed as that has been our weak area in recent weeks. And as Mulgrew has been named in the Scottish squad you would expect that he will play this weekend.

Looks a good team on paper but it leaves Nyambe awfully exposed?

What do people think of our recent corners?

Rothwell seemed to take a few yesterday but his were equally as ineffective as Reeds poor corners of recent times, floated ones that dont really lead to goalscoring opportunities.

Mulgrews our best taker but we could do with him in the box. So surely Dack should take them? Feel like at the moment a corner isnt a goal threat for us and it does need to be.

Not so sure about Dack taking corners because imo if anything in the box becomes loose, Dack is the one who will react.  Agree however our corners are poor.

Off topic, I see Nixon is trying to sell Dack again.  Would it be possible for Chaddy to have a word with his mate informing him to get stuffed!

    Rubbish.

They're all Lancashire, including the Manchester and Liverpool clubs. Each one is a local derby.

And while Lancaster might be the county town it's never been the "heart" of Lancashire

That's fine.  There are many local derby's but only one war!
