Yes you are right again- Burnley had used their sub so Kindon was allowed back on after quite a few minutes to a cacophony of derision and yes it was him missing it.

Quickest resurrection since Lazarus. He was seriously pacey though.

You could always rely on Kindon for entertainment.  One of the funniest thing I have ever seen in football involved him.  I attended a conference in the midlands and what else do you do on a weekday evening?  Well you can go and watch Wolves who happened to be at home.  It was in the days of having only one sub and on that night it was Kindon.  Wolves came out for their warm up and Kindon really leathered the Ball straight into the back of Alan Sunderland’s head resulting in Sunderland being stretchered off with concussion.  This meant Kindon playing and Wolves with no sub before the kick off.  Within 2 mins Wolves win a corner which resulted in Kindon charging in like the maniac he is and in the process flattens Richards who is carried off on a stretcher.  Wolves down to10 men with 88 minutes to play and Kindon has done both of them.

    Typical Ex Burnley player.

sorry but bringing his name up just reminded me of the incident.

  2. Maybe, just maybe there may be some mileage in the German lad coming?

    BRIGHTON DEFENDER LEAVES CLUB

Brighton defender Markus Suttner has left the club to join Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The 32-year-old has returned to the Bundesliga after playing six times during a loan spell with the club last season.

This will leave room for our target to leave.

We won the league spending buttons on defence, true enough! :-)

We did but management was exceptional.  Actually took some time to get Hendry back from city.  Spent some money on Flowers, considerable at the time, and we certainly shafted Chelsea when we effectively swapped Livingstone for LeSaux who was very well regarded.  Great, great management considering Tony Gayle as well.

I’ve seen too many exciting-looking signings flop, and, to be fair, too many players of whom I had low expectations shine, to join the mass hyperventilating until we’ve seen a few games.

Couple of issues not getting enough airtime on here (IMO):

    1) So far, for the 3rd summer running, we haven’t sold a star player. Compared to the summers where we sold Duff, Shearer,   Waggy, Barker, Bellamy etc., I’ll take this one so far.

    2) You’d think we had model owners whereas I don’t believe these leopards have fundamentally changed their spots. With this City lad, which is more likely: Waggot, with his 20 years in the game, doesn’t think to ask about loan terms, or Pune baulks late on about the penalty fee if he doesn’t play X% of games?

    Defence needs sorting though.

Defence certainly needs sorting out but we don’t know what has happened with the city lad.  Maybe you are right but maybe he is waiting for someone else, maybe his parents are waiting for a better offer however it’s obvious he or us or city are not committed for whatever reason.  We will probably never find out but given that scenario we should have moved on early last week to give us more time before the deadline or start of season.

It is poor management for that reason.

  5. Just getting a little worried about the fixture on Saturday.  Just reading about flooding on the River Ribble near Preston.  Could someone let me know if there is any danger of the River Darwin flooding near Ewood and jeopardising the game.

As you can see I am located in Somerset and was thinking about coming up.

Is this Adarabioyo decent in the air? You would hope so at 6’5 but I’ve seen plenty of giants who are terrible aerially despite being huge! We need someone at the back who just loves heading.

You are right, but we also need someone at the back who won’t be pulled out of position to cover for some very poor full backs but that is not in the centre backs control.

  7. Hoping the move up for Damian will prove to be beneficial.  Read that Mowbray was describing himself as having his eyes opened by the performances of Rankin-Costello because he didn’t know that he was that good.  In my view a manager should be on top of his young players and know exactly how good they are, can’t imagine Klopp being surprised by the emergence of Alexander-Arnold.

Maybe Damian Johnson will put those things right.

    Could well be "Andy" though.

Think we may get a new keeper tomorrow.  Why? A gut feeling because fate determined that I went to watch the Keeper this evening (an excellent film about the life of Bert Trautman).  Secondly the new away kit is being launched in Rovers shop tomorrow.

    I know, I have a cup that’s half full.

  9. For what it is worth, I believe that this is a great signing for more reasons than one.

First, I think he is a good player with great potential.

Second and probably more important, he has stuck out to sign for us against other teams in our division.  This sends a message to other players that we are serious and worth it, as that attitude will be noted.  As a result I believe that it will also help to keep Dack here until at least Christmas.  Therefore the signing is invaluable.

Having said that, we now need a big uncompromising centre back who will stick his head where others would think twice about putting a boot and if possible a left back who can defend.

    Would like that

Full backs not good enough defensively.  Would mean Lenihan and CH being pulled out of position to cover.

would be great going forward though.

The White signing sounds very similar to the signing of Brad Lyons. Centre midfielder playing 'men's football' brought in to potentially affect the first team in a season or two. Stengthens our U23 team in the meantime or goes out on loan.

Did the U23's lose many midfielders in the summer to warrant this signing?

If someone in midfield becomes available we will sign him.

    New formation 1 8 1 or 1 9 1 who needs a goalkeeper?

No. Full back positions not addressed and I wouldn't want Dann back anyway. We'd probably be slightly stronger as a team but I think our defence would continue to be a massive achilles heel, especially if Lenihan gets injured again. Also the average age of the team will have gone up considerably with Johnson, Adam, Downing, Dann and Ruddy all being well over 30 and Butterfield soon to be out of his 20's as well. Not exactly building for the future.

Agree entirely.  If we don’t get proper cover in the full back areas, then the central defenders will be pulled out of position and as a result we will leak goals like a burst water pipe in Darwin town centre, no matter who plays in the CH positions.

  13. With regard to the Dann link.  I personally don’t believe there is anything in it and it’s our friend Nixon making up stories again.

However, if it does happen to be true, we should not be too harsh on him because when he was here before didn’t he get injured with a ruptured testicle (ouch) and don’t forget it was at a time we where buying the likes of Ribero, Bradley Orr, and Myles Anderson etc. Whilst leaving Salgado to kick his heels.

Dont really blame him for not seeing him at his best.
