Defenders, they are coming,
Defenders they are coming,
we just don’t know when.
Defenders they are coming,
Defenders they are coming
oh Sh1t we’ve lost out again
But don’t worry defenders are coming.
Now, which charity do you want me to give my 5 quid to?

Mowbray dropped Raya for Leutweiller, for a while. Raya is going to Arsenal, Leutweiller is playing at Fleetwood.
Houston, I think we may have problem?

We need a left back and a central defender urgently. Yes we will score this season but we will concede. If nothing is done, I can see us shipping 60+ goals.
Tony, it is time for defenders to come!

how?
Hi Chaddy. If we miss out on players who have been identified and then negotiated with, once, twice maybe, then that can be called unfortunate. However, when it goes on time after time over a long period of time, then there is something extremely wrong. That could be down to poor negotiations, it could be down to not selling the club to the said individuals, whatever, it strikes me as just poor management, nothing more nothing less.

Well if Fulham was happy with us playing 60 or 70% of wages but then Bristol City came in and offered to pay in full then Fulham will cancelled our deal and push the player to go there.
You speak like it's so easy to bring players.
We have players in for medicals then gone elsewhere for different reasons so is that Rovers fault?
Yes

Every time I look in the media, we are being linked with a winger, a midfielder, another goalkeeper.
Why, when the most pressing need is for a left back and central defender.
I think Mowbray has lost it.

In league 1,he had many a poor game in the championship first season back
He was being played out of position. Mowbray is a poor manager.

Pre this I’d never really heard of kipre. He’s only a Wigan defender. He’s now the holy grail. Less than a million when top draw defenders go for 30 million.
Came from Motherwell to wigan via the French league. It journeyman stuff. Would a journey man choose more money at wba?obviously he would.
Are there more players of kipre standard? Very very probably.
Most of it is desperation from us. We’ve missed out on an average player. Move on
Here what you are saying but when I have seen him he has been really good, defended with no frills or compromise, just what is required here. With regard to West Brom please note that the latest information is coming exclusively from the Daily Mail or Daily Facist as I prefer to call it, so I will wait until I hear it from a more reliable source.

Darryl Horgan struggled to have an impact at Preston. Not sure he is good enough to do much at this level.
Horgan on his way to Wycombe according to Scottish press.

Remember that, Stood very close to the guy who threw it..
Yes, me to. The smell was horrific, made my eyes water for a time as well.
From memory, i think that was the last ever game to be played on Christmas Day ?

So sorry to read about Stuart Metcalf this morning. He was part of my youth.
I think that he could have made it today. He had the rare ability to beat a man by taking the ball so near to his opponent that it was untrue even though the opponent would know he was going on his right foot. He was excellent.
Thanks for the memories and rest in piece Stuart.

‘On their holidays’. Didn’t realise it was 1990? Hopefully TM’s hotel has a phone he can use...
No, it may have an old dial up fax machine though.

I think the most pressing need as a left sided back 4 (left back in old money). That will prevent central defenders being pulled out of position to cover and will make whoever is playing in that position better. If the worst comes to the worst Lenihan Wharton, Carter and dare I say Mulgrew can cover but not if they keep being pulled to cover the opposition attacks on their right wing leaving gaping holes in the middle.
just my opinion.

of course too Bruce.
so far we had a few links players mainly through fans or our local reporters. Not seen at linked players like the national media.
Would be good to get our 1st signing or 2 in by end of next week so when training restarts in a couple of weeks
Chaddy, I keep looking at sky sports transfer page and all sorts of teams are making bids, completing transfers, etc.
Rovers, nothing, absolutely nothing, probably because Blackburn is still trying to contact Puna on a dodgy fax line in order to sort out a budget. Same last year with Bauer who went to Preston because we were too slow. Whose fault? Mowbray or the owners? Doesn’t really matter but we will get nowhere until situation is resolved.

No Garner ?
I did think about Garner and loved him as a player but all the others that I mentioned did it at the top level with the exception of Jones but keepers are a special case.

Don’t disagree with that but it’s strange how us fans determine the rules for being a legend take Tugay for example , nobody would argue his legendary status but (without double checking the facts) my guess is Sherwood played more , scored more goals and Captained the championship winning team but is not considered a legend presumably because of the way he left
I go back further than you guys, so got me thinking who my legendary team would include?
came up with this:
Goal - Friedel, Jones,
Defence - Newton, Hendry, England, Nelson, Le Saux, Clayton
mid - Tugay, Douglas, Ripley, Duff, Wilcox, Sherwood, Vernon
forward - Shearer, Sutton, Pickering, McEvoy
Nb. I know Ripley and Wilcox will not be many people’s choice but I thought they where superb as they supplied the outlet.
probably some obvious ones I have missed.

Carter needs to go on loan. Massively below Championship standard at present.
Too harsh, not massively below championship standard and not arguing that he shouldn’t go out on loan but I thought he was unlucky with the OG as the ball was going wide but spun wickedly and went in by the post. He is young and lost confidence after the incident.

Cannot concede 3 goals per game. I am very worried for next season but maybe defenders are coming? I only hope so.

How do you know this lot won't do that at some point in the near future ?
Don’t knowTyrone, this lot are capable of doing anything but going into admin would only end up with the club being in debt to the owners themselves, as they are the main debtors. However never say never.
just been reading about the Salgado issue and him being told that he would never play again for the club in order to save money as they couldn’t or where not willing to pay for another contract, which he would have triggered had he played one more game. That ended well also.
Makes you wonder why, we as fans, actually bother but we do and they know it.

My BD is March 7; my granny was March 14! Still an important day to me.
It takes me three weeks to finish a six-pack. Some of that is being 58, some of that is it’s just not as enjoyable as it once was.
But, during the pandemic I’ve had a chance to try lots of different beers- local-made, IPA, Mexican (Dos Equis, Modelo) bocks, lagers, etc. I still like Shiner, and Ziegen, both are Texas bocks. Strangely enough, I keep going back to Pabst. Good, solid American beer, cheaper than most. It comes in pints, too!
I am just enjoying my last can of the limited edition of Brewdog Barnard castle eyesight cloudy. Admittedly I bought it for its name and the fact all profits where sent to the NHS but it is an extremely decent beer.
If you think I am joking check out Brewdog web site.

Have been feeling somewhat down since the final whistle but my grandson has just been to see me and said he was feeling upset as well. When I pointed out that play offs are all but out of reach and Pope the Burnley keeper might win the golden glove, he agreed. After a moments silence he then said does that mean they will need to make a special glove with six fingers?
Now that cheered me up so I thought I would share it with you.- 14

Mercer - What are the odds on us winning the next 3 and then being turned over at Luton?
-
At risk of getting pilloried and having to take a significant Amount of flak, I think that there is a footballer in Brereton. Sure he has been disappointing in his earlier games, but he was being played out of position and in the main in very short cameos. Not a situation a young lad trying to justify a hefty price tag (nothing to do with him) should have been put in that position. He was badly managed. Since the lockdown, I think he has played much better but in a better position, his petulance withstanding, but I think that was his age and frustration took hold.
Samuel played well last evening and a quick look at Cardiff comments confirms that but that may have been down to Grahams influence therefore the jury is still out. I thought Graham’s positioning and anticipation was superb but considering Samuel is coming back from a recent bad injury, there is hope.Never understood why we re-signed Gallagher as he just doesn’t fit. With a couple of wingers giving him reasonable service then maybe but we/Mowbray just don’t play that way.
