Any beverage recommendations for tonight?
In the same way that one pairs superb steamed whiting with a nice chilled Fleurie, what would be a suitable accompaniment to tonight's Tony Mowbray early bird?
Absinthe and plenty of it.

Reading, player for player similar level to us. Organisation and tactics they are light years ahead.

We've gone up a place to 15th so Tony will be celebrating that.
I think you may be right but that is the problem.

It is getting to the point that we have got to hope there are 3 worse teams than us.
Looking at that table tonight, surely Mowbray must realise his position is untenable.

Lose today and we are looking at relegation

Back 4. Three loanees and one out of contract at end of season that wants away.
Good, isn’t it?

Honestly, I can't see us winning this.
Zero faith in Mowbrays abilities as a manager. Expect more reshuffling of the squad, unable to break Coventry down and then show some truly embarrassing defending to concede and lose 0-1.
If we don’t win this, it will be a relegation fight. End of.
-
Tony - Why did you set the team up like that.
That is far above my pay scale lad
-
If after tomorrow as I expect.
it will be 5 in a row on the Tony Mowbray show. Nothing will happen. However after Coventry on Saturday, if it’s 6 in a row then I would expect Tony and his mate to be potted. -
I sincerely hope Gallagher recovers well, he must wonder where he has come to. Being played out of position week after week is unfair to him and the club. He must be thinking this is the final straw.
Time as come for Mowbray. Just go man.

Thats what the old 'Birdie' (the nutter, not the current one) used to do: he used to take potshots at folk out of his upstairs bedroom window on Nuttall Street.
Wonder whatever happened to him? He was a real head case!
Didn’t he get locked up after he did some serious damage with his bowler hat. For younger posters his bowler hat was made of wood. He would meet some poor sod supporting the opposition then take his hat off, bow and say welcome to Ewood while bringing the said hat down on the opposing supporters head.
yes he was a head case.

Suggest we all email Pune but don’t know if it would make any difference other than make you feel slightly better

Mowbray team talk at half time. Look lads that was not a bad first half, now if we concede we will lull them into a false sense of security. They will expect us to attack but we will defend. Ok?

Just read in the LT that Mowbray thinks the missing ingredient to taking the next step forward is consistency.
whatever that bloke is drinking, I want some. The only missing ingredient to taking the next step is having a manager who can set up against the opposition on the day and to have a plan B, should things not work out. Basic skills for a football manager.
I wonder if Venky’s get to see articles from the LT and if that is where his comments are aimed?

Mowbray complaining of the cold?
Well a February night game at Barnsley may be a chill to far....
TBF though upstairs in the JW with an incoming freezing wind is just about the coldest I've ever been, anywhere
Once went on StJames park Newcastle when the were developing the ground. One side was completely open to the elements from the North Sea. Tried to move my feet at half time but shoes were frozen to the terrace. Anywhere at Ewood is positively balmy by comparison.

Dack isn't playing wide. Not even Mowbray is that ridiculous.
He says hopefully...
No one will play wide. Have to keep at least one part of Ewood pristine
-
Worried about this, pitch will be atrocious / very heavy. We have no width so very easy to defend against, not enough tactical nouse to go route1.
just my opinion
-
So, if we have now got Pickering and also Douglas, is there any chance we can get England, Newton, Clayton and McEvoy?
sorry, couldn’t resist it.

Didn’t a poster in the know imply that the V’s are taking recruitments steer rather than Mowbray at the moment, and the recruitment team are keen on Pickering.
Hope the poster in the know is right and Mowbray has a hissy fit ending with s resignation or sacking. That would be a result.

Kipre on the bench today. Not sure if that is significant or not.

well another early exit from the FA Cup.
Was disappointed with Pike and Davenport not in the team. Why didn't Gallagher play the 9 role instead of Dack. With Dack in the midfield 3.
We had our chances and we didn't take them. Dack, Brereton and Buckley all had great chances to score.
Tempo still too slow and not not high enough all game.
Because he is a useless manager. Can’t set a team up, has no idea how to change to plan B when it’s not working. Doesn’t use substitutes to advantage.
suspect he has lost the dressing room
He has to go.

I’d wager we won’t make any changes at the break. ‘More of the same lads’ will be ToMo’s war cry.
Changes to come around the hour mark, like last week, week before that, week before that. Not saying Mowbray is predictable, but?

What has Davanport done?
This manager is awful! No more debate.- 4

Just got a 3 litre box from the coop. A reasonable 13% red blended of course. Only question is, will 3 litres be enough? Not sure that it will be adequate to reduce the pain when full time whistle goes.
