He played 14 times up to New years day, then he got injured. He couldnt get back in the team after that. So not really sure what you mean by saying he had up to New years day to take the shirt off Evans?
-
It's better without the loan players. We had no one like Dack or Smallwood in that team
-
He got inured December 30th and didn't get back into a squad auntil March 31st. At that point he was struggling for match fitness and wasn't going to get it as we were playing well with Smallwood and Evans/Bennett
-
Duffy would start for pretty much every team in the championship, Hanley a fair few.
-
That doesn't sound right. Was he not out from like November to late Feb or even March? Add in the time needed to get match fit then
-
We don't know Whittingham is injury prone. Prior to last season he played more games than not every season. You are just being ageist
-
So we should have sold Shearer after the 93/94 season? Lenihan after he missed most of last season? Any player who gets injured?
-
He was inured for most of the season
-
I wouldn't be so quick to dump Whittingham either. The guy only started 5 games last season due to injury. If he recovers properly we have a player with a record as good as anyone in the Championship. I think he will be a useful option top have around. Just not on the wing again please Tony Veterans in the play off teams Villa- Glenn Whelan(34) Jedinak(33) Terry (37) Boro- Downing (33) Leadbitter (33) Derby- Nugent (33) Whittingham still has a good season in him too I reckon
-
Big difference between selling or loaning a player Chaddy. They aren't interchangeable terms
-
This is who we have next season, not including Graham and Conway. They will bring us to 21 players Goalkeepers: David Raya, Jayson Leutwiler, Andrew Fisher Defenders: Ryan Nyambe, Paul Caddis, Paul Downing, Darragh Lenihan, Charlie Mulgrew, Scott Wharton, Derrick Williams, Amari’i Bell, Sam Hart Midfielders: Richie Smallwood, Corry Evans, Peter Whittingham, Lewis Travis, Willem Tomlinson, Elliott Bennett, Ben Gladwin, Bradley Dack Forwards: Dominic Samuel, Joe Nuttall
-
Get rid of Wharton? Why?
-
Evans has enough to be a top half of the table Championship player. The problem is he suffers from losing concentration and niggling injuries(perceived or otherwise). If he got focused and injury free he is a would be a solid Championship midfielder, here or elsewhere. The thing is that he only plays around 25 games a season on average.
-
The thing about Payne is he played 27 games in the Championship in Huddersfields promotion season. Interesting to see him back in League 1 at Oxford and then us instead of staying in the Championship. Tells a story perhaps...
-
The problem is Caddis wasn't good enough this season and playing Bennett or Travis there means we are playing them out of position.
-
Well it is important to be fit for lady season ? relying on autocorrect to the heavy lifting
-
Chapman and Armstrong a must. Worth taking a bit of a gamble
-
Agreed. Lets be honest some of the games we won last season were due to the opposition being piss poor at something specific. Remember Peterborough first half at home? That was one of the worst displays I have ever seen. Second half then we upped the tempo and within a few minutes their defender slips comically in the box to let a quite obviously injured Dack score. You get gifts in league 1 that you just won't get in the championship. In fairness we did actually look pretty fit last season, we had to be, so that will definetly stand to us next season as it was massively lacking our last time there.
-
Yes, but you said Caddis, Bennett and Travis should be next in line when someone suggested signing a right back
-
We need to sign at least 2 wingers who will start most weeks, having Conway as back up is fine with me. Feeney is gone, Ward is gone and Conway will be signing for less. Before any conversations with venkys, there is a bit to play around with wages wise
-
And what do you do to deserve a ticket? Did you score against Bradford last season? Must have missed that
-
If the wages are reasonable, which I would imagine they will be, I don't see a problem. A good honest pro and we can call him a rover at this stage. He has given a lot to the club
-
Chaddy how you respond to many posts in one makes it difficult to reply to you Ya, Caddis will be here, but what I asked you was do you think he should play?
-
I suppose the challenge for Mowbray and Waggott is to balance expectations, whilst also trying to get enough funds released to allow us to be competitive in the top half. If venkys put money in, they will want progress
-
Chaddy, you are hardly suggesting that Caddis should play next season are you? I would prefer Bennett in midfield as well personally.
