What a clown, I know we were all for passion but what on earth was that. Get him out the club, utter moron.

The problem is that there's absolutely nothing upfront. Szmodics is doing the work of 3 men. Dolan and Gallagher have contributed nothing, again.
You're once again hoping to keep them out and nick a goal.
Oh 100%, and here is where all this nonsense about "building a sustainable model" falls apart - we never, ever reinvest to replace what we lose properly. We just hope that someone is going to score an absurd amount of goals compared to their history. We're bloody lucky Sammie stepped up because without him I'm confident we'd be lucky to be competing with Rotherham.

First half could have been worse, but I really don't get any sense of urgency in this squad and with results as they are that couldn't be much worse, A Plymouth goal now and we're in big, big trouble.
-
That is a honking line up, very much an expect the worst, hope for the best scenario regardless of how tired Coventry are.

"Kyle has been fantastic, we have spoken about having more quality and experienced players around the group to help and develop. He is one I would like to keep for sure, if we're allowed to do that."
If we were a normal club, I'd be saying we shouldn't go near a new deal for him. However, our alternative will probably be a 14 year old skipping school so it might be the better option.

We just need to get the points we need, secure our place for next season and then we can get on with the biannual transfer window debacle.

Why Markanday tho? Offers very little for me
Very few of our players offer more than very little, while there are a few that offer less than even that.

I'm not so sure the Cov result really does help us to be honest. We struggle against everyone, but we especially struggle to break down teams who sit back, which a tired side are more likely to do.
They have nothing to play for, but in recent history Rovers only turn up if we have nothing to play for.
-
Might be for the best for O'Riordan honestly. Him not playing means he can't be tainted with the stink that comes off of this squad at the moment, I would expect to see more of him next seasons, especially if we go down.

This thread hasn’t aged well
Pears has that one game in 10 where he looks like prime Buffon, but in the other 9 he ranges from a steady championship keeper to a Sunday League bench player. Unfortunately, the latter almost always comes up in key matches where we're expected to do well, like yesterday.
Was barely qualified to be on the bench when we signed him and should never have been a number 1 at this level. Whoever made the decision to keep him in (JDT or otherwise) last season needs to give their head a wobble.

Honestly, there will be few left and even fewer who will fluorish. O'Riordan perhaps?
It will be hard for an attacker to stand out in Euselessball.

Damning Gallagher statistics.
Underlines the absolute idiocy in not selling him to Ipswich in January for circa £1.5m as well as getting his relatively, for Rovers, astronomical wages off our books. No matter who we might have replaced Gallagher with they could hardly have been as ineffective.
Seeing Gallagher in a Rovers' shirt simply makes my blood boil - IMO, he's stealing a very luxurious living from the club.
I guess the argument is less that the replacement would be ineffective, but more that he wouldn't have been replaced at all.
I don't know what happened to Harry Leonard, but he'd have got a couple in the last month I'd have thought.

You really need to watch Sheff Weds 3rd goal from yesterday, just to reaffirm why Pears should never play for the club again.
And to think, people on here were actually suggesting him replacing TK as our No.1 was fine.
He's absolute garbage.
Interestingly, though Hyam was also at fault, the first one to me is worse - because he keeps doing it.
I can't remember who but someone posted a short video of I think 5 examples of howlers he has made this season, and 3 of the 5 were him thundering out of the box, heading it to the opposition and getting lobbed.
Once is a mistake, three plus times is a pattern. I said at the time that Pears and Hyam shared the blame and I still stand by that assessment, if not more so now I've seen that clip.
-
Well, he managed to grind out a result last week and then yet again when the impetus is on him he completely fails to deliver. 2 wins in 15, 0 wins at home with some abysmal football to boot. The "pragmatic" approach is fine is you're actually getting points but we're doing nothing to try to win.
At this point he's basically Gareth Ainsworth with better PR.

What a result does eh? I was fully accepting of going down after the Bristol game, and then conceded that the Leeds game would change things and then that happens.
We desperately need Huddersfield to beat Brum now, but whether we go down or not there needs to be a massive overhaul in the summer - I'm struggling to think of 5 people (players or staff) who deserve to be here next season.
-
One of two things happens here:
10% chance: We get battered and grind out a point or three
90% chance: Cov barely turn up, we also don't turn up, we gift them 2 or 3 goals without them having to bother.
-
Ultimately the only person in the squad who deserves the captaincy in Sammie. The fact that he has to watch this clown lead the team out game after game and put in the performances he is doing must be killing him.
The second Carter was back Hyam should have been dropped, but no one at this club has the cojones to do what is right for the club at any point.

I hope our fans give them both barrels. Abysmal.

Gallagher on a cool 0.1 goals per game in the league this season.
He's the best possible striker we could get for his wages and the £5m he cost us though, or so I've been told.

We now have a huge problem - we now can't even rely on GD as a points buffer with Brum being the team in the bottom three with a currently equal GD.
This teams ability to play up to the big teams but be completely and totally inept against poor teams needs to be studied.

JE has to take responsibility too though. Hyam has been awful game after game after game. Didn't take him off during Bristol. Let him carry on and this is what we get. It's awful. He's our captain.
He shouldn't be starting
Pears should also be dropped by Leo is not good enough so I understand keeping him in the goal
100%. This is on the manager, this is on GB, SW and Venkys. Time and again we go for bargain basement or academy replacements to key players and time and again it bites us.

You can't blame Eustace for that.
And here lies the problem I just mentioned. Every goal we concede is an "individual error" which shields the manager from any criticism despite the fact that they're the ones setting up to create the environment that those mistakes happen.

Hyam and Pears combo again, literally the Chuckle brothers - punt them both down to the reserves for the rest of the season. Pathetic.

Another horror show at the back under Mr Hard to Beat
One problem we have is that we have so many players with a clanger in them that both Eustace and JDT have been able to shield themselves with "individual errors" all season.
Not good enough yet again and now we're going to be scrambling for points against Coventry and Leicester. Unbelievable.

I agree it isn't a red, but why give the referee the decision to make? It was completely unnecessary from everyone involved.
