I'm having trouble justifying 8th place.
Don't worry, you won't have to after we lose the next 4 as well.

"Why does nobody turn up at Ewood anymore?"
Have you seen this guff?- 3

Getting absolutely pumped by the worst team in the league. Hand Tony is p45 and let him find his own way home.

Embarrassing and for once I’m not blaming the manager. Those players MUST manage the game better than that.
Considering game management has been an issue for a long time now it absolutely comes down on the manager as much as the players.

We are sitting soooo deep. Does Tony even know the basics of setting a team up?

Kaminski and van Hecke (perhaps Wharton too) seem to be the only players doing anything,,, though I guess that argument could be used for all of 2022.

Peterborough are terrible. Nice to watch but lack any quality

Hopefully the lads tell Tony where to shove his ideas again at half time. Utterly clueless.

So let me get this straight... Gally is taken out by last man, and nothing. Edun booked and Breo disallowed for lightly touching the opposition. The officials in this league boggle the mind.

Who would have thought that continuing with the same tactics that haven't worked all of 2022 would result in the exact same level of dire performance?

I take your point about rushing through an appointment, but agree with @DE.that a caretaker would likely get better results than Mowbray on the run in.
I normally wince when ex-players are being touted as managers, but I do think Ainsworth has shown enough to be given an opportunity at a bigger club.
It’s far too simplistic to say he only has a team 7th in League One. If he was at Sunderland or Wigan I would agree.
Ainsworth is at a club with very sparse resources whose natural level is League Two.
He got them promoted to the Championship when they were favourites for relegation, made a reasonable fist it of it last season and has his team competing for promotion again this season.I don’t think any manager could be doing better at Wycombe, under the circumstances.
His connection to Rovers would be a bonus, and we know he would be taking the job for the right reasons.
Unfortunately, it’s highly unlikely anyway. It will be back to HSH Jurassic Park for another dinosaur.
I think the one think for me with Gareth that I absolutely despise about Tony is you know full well that win or lose as a fan he would be pushing that team, urging them to finish the job, and would be going through the same emotions we are as the game goes on.
I can't remember the last time Tony looked like he remotely gave a damn, from his interviews to his touchline demeanour, and discounting the constant collapses is the number one thing I have to criticise him for.

For the love of god get rid of this absolute clown

Forget about top 6. Priority has to be getting rid of this dinosaur and trying to build for next season.
Getting outclassed by Paul Ince is arguably worse than losing 7-0

Imagine spending £5m and giving an extended contract to THAT.

I think they probably would, I think I would for sure.
It might be harsh, but the main thing i will remember Mowbray for during his time here are his horrendous winless runs of form.
9 defeats in 11 games in 18-19
2 wins in 17 games in 20-21
2 wins and 2 goals in 10 games (so far) in 20-22.
It's also important to point out that these runs are constsntly in the same patterns each season. This isn't just bad runs, it's bad runs after the new year.
When you factor in the same issues at Cov and Boro, that points to a chronic inability to change and by extension an inability to succeed.

I'd be getting rid of Tony after this game. He had a chance of turning it around going into a favourable set of fixtures and we still look awful. We can't afford to just throw this season away.

That's not the point, it would be a step closer to financial security for the club.
Not taking advantage of the opportunity is an absolute travesty.
Yeah, as much as I hate to say it, we need to be looking at what Burnley did - go up, pocket the change while getting battered every week, use the payments to buy the Championship again, then look to solidify. Especially considering where we were, if we continue in this way and miss out on top 6 this can be considered nothing other than abject failure.

Giles is only every going to work if we play with a target man in the middle. We don’t - we don’t even have one on the books - so it’s a pointless signing.
Tony having no idea how to make signings to actually suit how the team / players play? Never...

Can someone explain how Tony is so consistently abysmal in February?
My understanding is that it was the same at Cov as well - is it just utter incompetency in the January window?
In any case, I don't want to see a new contract anywhere near him. Have some ambition for once.

The thing is, even if we did manage to salvage this, it would be against lower level teams. Aside from the odd anomaly we never lay a glove on a decent team. It would take a miracle for us to do anything in the play-offs themselves.
Also whoever threw money at a long term ckntract for Gallagher needs firing, literally useless.

I don't rate Mowbray, but this is crazy.
This was our best 45 since before Christmas.
And yes, that's despite the goal....
Best 45 means nothing if you lose. Just like last season having all of that possession meant nothing. Results are all that matters, especially at the business end of the season.

Standard Mowbray second half of the season death spiral. Every single time. Get him gone and get someone with a braincell in the door.

It's more and more clear that it was the win streak that was the "outlier" for our results, rather than the awful form surrounding it. Without that period we'd have just lost a relegation six-pointer. And yet some will still defend the dinosaur.
