They probably are scouting him though?

Yeh, they are, because Ash is a bloody good 'un!

This guy has loved mixing a bottle for his personal gain and to our detriment for long enough! He (and the rest of his un-named cronies need to fuck off and parasitically infest some other club!)

    WE ARE The Rovers!!!

  2. Alan Nixon has today been spouting more bollocks in his daily rag regarding Ash Phillips, our 16 year old defensive superstar in the making.

I would like to let everyone be aware that he has been part of 'the poison' that has affixed itself to Blackburn Rovers during the past 11 years.

Take bugger all notice of anything that he spouts, he's nothing but an unsettling influence on BRFC as a club and its' supporters!

As Scousers ostracised The Sun, Blackburn Rovers should ostracise Alan Nixon.

Pull off and get into a pub to watch it. No consolation, but better than missing it totally.

You’re wrong M4 runs from east to west in South Wales. M6, M5, M4 is the quickest route from Blackburn except when there’s an accident.

You missed M50, joining M4 at Newport, apart from that you're spot on!.....J*B buy a bloody map book!

Footnote, me missed the first 20 minutes. When we arrived at the ground, 2 well known Rovers away followers were walking in the opposite direction. We asked where they were going?........."The bastards won't let us in because we've no Covid jab records with us"! Thankfully we all had.

Oh for a 'fox in the box' yesterday.......he'd have had a bagful!

  4. Blackburn Rovers announce series of events to support club legend Tony Parkes

BLACKBURN ROVERS have announced a series of upcoming events designed to support club legend Tony Parkes.

The club says it has been in close contact with Tony’s family over the past two years, since it was revealed that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in February 2020.

Mr Parkes, 72, who still regularly attends games at Ewood Park, made over 400 appearances in Rovers colours, scoring 46 goals, and had six successful spells in caretaker charge.

Having dedicated almost his entire career to the club, Rovers say they are fully committed to supporting Tony and his family during these tough times, with a number of fundraising activities now confirmed over the coming months.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the club's Worthington Cup final victory over Tottenham Hotspur, the club will host 'An Evening with David Dunn and Craig Hignett' at Ewood Park on Thursday, February 24, with all proceeds going to Tony Parkes, who was a key part of Graeme Souness' backroom staff for the victory at the Millennium Stadium.

Dunn, who scored 59 goals in 377 appearances for the club over two spells, played the full 90 minutes in Cardiff 20 years ago, while Hignett, who netted in both legs of the semi-final success over Sheffield Wednesday, came on for the final 15 minutes, having helped Rovers secure promotion to the Premier League the previous season.

On Thursday, March 31, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust will be offering fans the opportunity to experience a matchday in the same way as their Rovers heroes by taking part in a truly memorable match on the Ewood Park pitch.

Supporters will bid for the chance to "live out their dream" and take part in the charity fixture, with 50 per cent of the funds raised being donated to Tony Parkes and the other half being put towards community projects – such as Remember the Rovers – that support people with dementia, as well as other initiatives aimed at tackling social isolation among the elderly.

In April, Rovers will dedicate the home fixture against Blackpool – a club Tony also had close connections with – to raise further funds.

The game takes place at Ewood Park on Saturday April 9, with various fundraising and awareness activities, including bucket collections and a memorabilia auction, planned in the build-up to the local derby and on the day itself.

Lastly, the club have also held positive discussions with an individual, who wishes to remain anonymous, who has pledged to commit to a monthly amount for at least the next six months to support Tony and his family.

There will be other events planned too by the club.

BRFC have always been known as a family club.

Other than Jack Walker, nobody has dedicated more to Blackburn Rovers in the past 50 years than Tony Parkes.
Please everyone, take part in the forthcoming events and in addition to enjoying yourselves, all proceeds over and above costs, will be donated to Tony Parkes' family.

If we take a thousand plus to this game, it will be stratospheric support.

We've been unlucky with the Sky matches, in terms of away support, tho not at Luton obv.

Good luck to anyone going, you deserve plaudits, and 3 points....

Out of 'Dodge' at 9.30am, spot of lunch (both solid and liquid) in Symonds Yat, perhaps take in a bit of 'egg chase watching' en route and then on to 'the new Vetch Field' for 4.30, prior to the Sky induced 5.30 kick off.

If there's a thousand plus Rovers there, it will be a fantastic turn out.

As always with your mates, the full day watching Rovers away is always to be cherished and was forever thus.

I'm confident that we'll be coming back from South Wales with 3 points. Just as long as we don't change what works and isn't broken and maintain the high press from the front.

    COYB!!!

The fun and games starts about 9.00 mins in....a few cold sweats in the Rovers end no doubt😆

Brilliant find that Garns....yep I was in that corner and it was definitely a case of head in hands and cold sweats. The Old Den, amongst the scrapyards of South Bermondsey in South East London will never be forgotten!

I went on the train, you had to have your wits about you even with 40 of your mates in tow, hostile place Leeds.

The Boxing Day? game around the same time when Rovers came back from 0-2 down was probably the best atmosphere I’ve experienced following Rovers away, 4000+ Rovers fans packed behind the goal, great memories.

I was in The Lowfield Stand that day Gav with Ian Battersby, amongst the Leeds faithful....when Rovers scored their first (Sellers I think), we were out of our seats to be confronted by a wall of Leeds skinheads who appeared from nowhere. Prior to that we'd all been having a jovial chat! After that we both sat on our hands and could only smile when we equalised and try to look pissed off!

As you say, Elland Road was a scary place, even worse when you were sat amongst them!

Seconded only back then I think by Burnden Park!

It was a genuine question.  On field, obviously we have improved beyond recognition.  Why, I'm not too sure about, but post the Fulham debacle, no-one can have any complaints.  Off the pitch I see the work done with the Asian communities as being ground-breaking.  But what else is going on?

    Things are improving generally.

Could you explain what your last sentence means.  Thanks.

I wouldn't have thought I'd have any need to Paul tbh.

Without going in to detail, which I'm not prepared to do, can you not see a distinct difference in both how the club is being managed in general and results on the field, right the way through the club from first team to juniors?

    It's not by accident!

I think its because of the absolute shite that some feel we've missed a golden opportunity here darren.

We are both long enough in the tooth to realise this is going to be a slog from now until May and we'll probably fall short on the automatic places sadly, but I'd rather be where we are now, than in a relegation dog fight where many posters had us.

Tony Mowbray has done a phenomenal this season, the players have responded to the challenge and we have a bit of pride back into the club and town, thats enough for me right now to be honest.

    Onwards and upwards.

Yep, I know and get that Gav, as you already knew.

I also do know though, how hard everyone at the club tried to get a couple more over the line in time, that ultimately didn't come off....that's life sadly.

As you eluded to, as a club BRFC, are far removed in 2022, from the one 2011 to 2020 and hopefully, Onwards and Upwards!

I think the clearing of the decks out on loans, at U23 level is to allow the lads at U18 to progress. Perhaps the people running the acadamy think some of the U18s have a better chance of eventually making the first team. I would trust them to make the right decissions. They have done so far.

Bob on rigger with that appraisal.

The lads got a lesson though against City, which won't do them any harm in the slightest!

By advanced forwards, do you mean players who don't score many goals?

Does it much matter who scores the goals as long as we do?

If we keep clean sheets most games, as we've become accustomed recently, we don't need to score many to carry home 3 points!

I really don't get the current negativity from some after 11 years of absolute shit!
