  1. Really sad, thoughts with his young family.
  2. A virusmeister on R4 today said better to be out in the open air than in a pub......make up your own minds?
  3. £5 surcharge if you pay on the door after nine. Only the Blackburn Times open before then on the Sabbath.
  4. Chelsea completely outplayed, 3-0, Bayern.
  5. Having worked in Blackburn for years, I have seen such a decline in the town. It used to be a great night out (yes, I'm that old), but I fail to see what a hotel would bring to Ewood. I appreciate the Fernhurst is there, no idea what the take up of rooms is. A hotel at Ewood would be popular on match days perhaps, but when else? In the close season there's nothing going on. The facility at Lancs CCC, is being expanded as is the ground. They can fill it all the time, as it's within walking distance of OT, so it can service out of the cricket season as well. Are BwDBC going to invest in the Ewood infrastructure? Brewery and a few good pubs up Livesey Branch. It's not suddenly going to become a great night out! A branch of the college, expanding, but it's a twenty minute walk into town. The Loons should have spent money on seeking Sam's considerable advice, providing funds for improving the team, and moving on what we already had. I fear Waggott's dreaming again. Onward and upward to three points against Stoke.
  6. You think promotion would be his priority then!
  7. Waggott has spent his time, creating a void. Ideal if you want to look in to it.
  8. Sadly, you are in the dark {Loons} ages. Think big, the whole club is in crisis under them!
  9. Official capacity, 31,367, highest ever bums on seats since redevelopment, 30,895 v Liverpool 1996.
  10. Loved our concrete bunker! Save for those that thought toilets were irrelevant!
  11. I sat with my son for years in the BE upper before being dumped. The club didn't consult me? DE, same. It's a vision for a more exciting game experience? It's my musings, it's a MB. The home end should be a wall of noise. See my comments about Spurs stadium who have built a 17,500 "home end", the envy of many, the Kop........need I say more?
  12. Parson is second left at the front, Chaddy will also claim to be on it.
  13. Safe standing should be in the Blackburn End lower. ST's £200 adults, £100 concessions. A 5,000 wall of sound, the German model. Open the BE upper to the family again. Brentford allow standing. If we aren't going up, it's allowed. No imagination. The WBA type stand, designated disabled areas, hotel, instead of the Riverside. Brewery. Surely Thwaites could be tempted? The options are there, but we have totally shit owners!
  14. See my photo in the thread, taken on a stadium tour. I seem to remember the architects based the stands on those of Ibrox, which has its corners enclosed. Watch Richard Hammond's Big, on Sky, about the construction of the new Spurs stadium, which has to be the best in Europe, if not beyond. Stadia have moved on immeasurably since our ground was redeveloped. Why do the Issa brothers not support Rovers?? Instead of building a hotel at Whitebirk, buy the club!
  15. The problem is, the Loons had a vision created by charlatans, that ultimately proved to be disastrous. They turned the fans against them. and to a large extent that pervades to this day. We are a mid-table Championship team, with crowds way below those Jack created by making us a PL team. Ewood's three sides were excellent for the time, and just need some TLC now. The dilemma of the WS stand is it is to all intents and purposes irrelevant, as it could be condemned tomorrow, and it wouldn't cause a problem. What of Blackburn itself? We have a huge Asian population who don't have any affinity to the club, and a dwindling fan base alienated by stay away owners, who again have no affinity to the club. I have no faith in Waggott, as he seems to have little idea as to how to get fans like me back there. Why, therefore would there be any need to upgrade the stadium? I'm at a total loss as to why they keep us ticking over, losing millions in the process. What incentive is there to invest in Ewood, as an area and as a club? Unless the goal is the PL, which, as we all know, and they don't seem to care, is the only way they will get their money back.
  16. I've posted this before. This was Jack's vision.
  17. Think I was right about the fucking ref the first time.
  18. Tom, Dack, and Harry. The nonsense is endless. Dick!
  19. It's just very depressing being at the behest of rich none loving football owners. If we had Jack back, he'd have had the TP signs up last week. None of this looking at options bollocks. Waggott should have strings attached, he's such a puppet.
  20. Very, very sadly, where I am too.
