You will remember that the burnley replay drew 28,691 and that was due to certain seats not being used to act as a safety feature. For the bolton match,we wouldn't expect that and as such could it be that we see a complete sell out as in 31,367.Will we ever see that number reached again for a match at Ewood?

Just watching Villa and Chelsea,Angel had a breakaway heading toward Chelsea's goal and Kalou(i beleive) came crashing from behind and collared Angel about the neck, head and body.Angel Goes down and I'm thinking red card for the Chelsea player. No,Poll doesn't even blow for a foul.Incredible.You just know if the situation were reversed and say Drogba was on a breakaway and Mellberg did the same he'd be marching to the showers.Double standard again.

You know Liverpool didn't want Lucas Neill too bad because for a club of their "stature", a paltry $ million pounds is nothing (or even lighter 2million pounds and Warnock).I hope this wiil show Mr Neill our desire for him and how we value him.Sparky's latest quotes seem to be along those lines.I am happy with everyone we have signed since July 1.In theory we all would have desired the Attacking creative midfielder but the reality is he was not out there for us b/c no way do we spend the money Celtic wanted nor paying Fulham man's wages as reported. All we can do now is see how they perform as the pieces have been assembled for the first part of our puzzle.I hope we are in the top ten and still playing in Europe when we are discusssing the next transfer window!

He is a left-sided defender/defensive midfielder based on wikipedia's entry. Not the creative, attacking option we would hope for but perhaps a challenger for Gray at LB.The remnant of the entry is as follows:"He is a product of the Liverpool youth academy and has had loan spells at Bradford City and Coventry City, later making his Liverpool debut against Grazer AK in 2004, in the first leg of a UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
Warnock impressed on a number of occasions during his debut season of 2004-2005. His good form resulted in the more experienced and renowned Harry Kewell being dropped on several occasions. In his second season (2005-2006), he has been asked to play primarily at left-back, in rotation with the Norwegian John Arne Riise. Warnock scored his first goal for the club against Fulham in a 5-1 win on the 15 March 2006.
Warnock signed a new two-year contract extension on 23 August 2005 which will see him at the club until 2008.
Despite having made relatively few first team appearances for Liverpool, Warnock was called in to the senior England squad on August 29, 2005 for the first time for the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to lack of cover in the squad at left back."
I would take a straight swap of Neill for FSP and Warnock under the circumstances we find ourselves in.

It would appear that Mr. Todd has thrown his toys out of the pram based on one game!Apparently,he didn't like being dropped
Poor timing of such a manoeuver !

PS How much would he fetch?

Seeing as I'm the gutless wonder who didn't want to post the question,Bob, but seeing how entertaining this thread has become (all off a request for two numbers!!) can I have a cut of the royalties from the book?

So, to sum it up(to the best of people's knowledge) we have had 9 Rover testimonials in the last 45 years or so.
Ronnie Clayton sometime in the 1960's?
Bill Eckersley sometime in the 1970's?
Derek Fazackerly unknown date
Glenn Keeley unknown date
Noel Brotherson(played posthumously) early 1990's
Fred O'Donoghue unknown date
Terry Gennoe 1992
Simon Garner first 1988 second 2003
Tony Parkes 2004
Is that a good synopsis/any other details from your collective memories?
-
No Nelsen Saturday based on this report here. Not totally surprised.
-
Just curious, prior to Tony Parkes' testimonial at Ewood, when was the last Rovers testimonial played and how many have been played since 1960?If anyone remembers the details about said matches,I'd appreciate it.
Cheers.

Also did Lucas play central defense today?
Lee's posting on the match report used the phrase"An uncharacteristic error from the CENTRE HALF" describing the bad guys second goal. Therefore,at some point,he played in the centre and possibly the whole game.If so,I wonder how Mokoena acquitted himself at RB?We will have to wait and see.

According to the ticket page, the Blackburn End is now called 'Walkersteel Blackburn End'
A lot of people still call the CIS Stand Walkersteel so that might cause a bit of confusion!
Here is a new article up with an explanation.More £££ in the coffers so it seems.

Ozz,

Modes,
I was referring to the 4 year deal he was offered by calling him a souness signing but technically you are correct.I've got nothing against the lad and would like to see him contribute this year.I recall that he didn't really impress so many at Leeds last year though.
-
Does Jonathon Douglas still have a role to play with Rovers this season or will he be another of Souness' signings not up to scratch for MH?
-
The prudent thing to do would be to sell them both wouldn't you agree and get what you can for them from a fizzy pop side? Take the funds however meager and throw it in the pot.By the way Philip, was Bentley so shocking he needed to come off after only 20 minutes ?
-
In Lee's report on the official site,it made a notation that said Bentley came on for Savage at 46 minutes and then was replaced by Tugay at 66 minutes. For those of you who watched,is that right? Was "he's only young" Bentley that bad after 20 minutes or did Tugay just need to get minutes, too?
