wait and see after the transfer window has close
It's been going two years, should I wait for 2021, 2022............
The season starts on Saturday, we have massive holes in the squad, recruitment has been tragic.

why keep digging at the European Scouting network?
Probably because their output has been miniscule

"We've invested heavily in our recruitment, almost doubled our recruitment budget," said Waggott. "We now have all the platforms and knowledge that you could possibly want at the club, and other clubs are looking at what we're doing with Stuart Harvey, our Head of Recruitment, and his staff."
Jesus. Are we seriously holding ourselves up as pinnacle of player recruitment?? What planet is our management on?
Either massively deluded or has hired Trump's spin doctor and just tells blatant lies

Is it actually confirmed how much Brereton cost in the end? Articles at the time stated "up to 7m", but our accounts show 5.2m was spent on transfers that season, which would have included Armstrong, Brereton, Rothwell, Davenport and Chapman.
Transfers are rarely paid in one lump sum, they tend to be instalments

Dack here till 2022 at least we have a years option on his deal
Is that the case with any of the others?

And ultimately, the manager should be judged on players that he is able to get signed, not the ones he missed out on.
What is also a major issue apart from the glaring holes in the defence are the contracts that run out in 2021:
Dack
Rothwell
Johnson
Holtby
Nyambe
Evans
JRC
+ a few I couldn't give a toss about, these will leave further massive holes in a squad that desperately needs bolstering. These lads don't need quarantining, analysing they need to be sat down and sold a future that they buy into so we actually have a team next year that doesn't mainly consist of U18s

No surprise we are looking for a right back considering Nyambe contract situation and to provide competition for that spot.
After today's display we need him to sign a new contract, one of the few we have that is worth a few quid, if he wanders off in 12 months for nothing it will be a crime.

On paper Kipre was realistic but if the club were aware a month ago of WBA interest. They would be his first choice financially and professionally so clearly became unrealistic.
Interesting how our interest suddenly appeared in the local press -before the deal was completed...and since then absoloutely no nearer to a defensive signing.
We have form for this each season.
I totally agree, if I was slightly more cynical I would conclude it's constant BS to placate the fan base, "We tried BUT!!!.........."

Why did we not have a go at getting Alfie Mawson from Fulham? At his peak he is a terrific CB and possesses all the attributes Mogga demands, fell ouit of favour at Fulham and currently looks to be on his way to Bristol City, so you would think we could compete on terms etc.
I understand he's not played much recently but that is probably him not getting on with Scott Parker, certainly a higher standard than what we have.

So would Cunningham, massive upgrade on Bell

Why can’t everyone just wait and see what we end up with and then comment.
Because as we've seen far too many times the end result is all lastminute.com BS. Professionals get their act together, Venkys, TM and Co have far too often dithered trying to save a quid or just plain fannied about so that we repeatedly miss decent signings

If it is Phillips I'm not expecting any favours from Liverpool, they have by far been the tightest of top teams in regards to spending and appear to be watching the pennies very closely.

My point being Freidal was not thought good enough at Lpool, turned out to be one of the best, so some fans complaining about only £500k for our new goalkeeper is rather offensive, give the guy a chance please.
I don't think it's offensive, short sighted and possibly ignorant, and very possibly a future specsavers ad

Probably they accept that they have reached a ceiling in their chosen profession, that somebody has offered them a massive pension pot is an opportunity that they might not see again and they all have family and friends who depend on them, so it isn't that much of a surprise.
