I Don't have a problem with chaddy unlike seemingly 99.9% of the m/b and there was no offence intended whatsoever.

It's just that at the moment he seems to be picking up on what TM has said in interview at various points and using  those criteria to either absolutely slaughter or praise to the hilt any name mentioned.

Thank you for being offended on Chaddy's behalf. I'm not that sure I'm the one who needs to get out more.

Sorry Chaddy. Intended in jest. No offence meant.

I wasn't offended, I was merely highlighting that anyone who would "love" to read someone you've never met on a messageboard backtracking about previous comments they had made probably needs to get out and enjoy life a bit more. I would love our Bradley to sign a contract extension or Jessica Biel to turn up in my local.

In fairness Coyle relegated us 100% TM record after the dick left us was admirable considering!

I went for 90% as the Barnsley home game where we lost 0-2 still sticks in the craw, that and a couple of other games I felt Big T was too negative in his approach. Overall though I don't blame him, I blame chimp head and the chicken botherers.

Anyway...... any danger of a transfer?

If Nicko was confident the sky was blue, I'd still look outside to check. The guy is an absolutely embittered goon when it comes to us. I can't believe people still give him the time of day.

"embittered goon" is a new one on me, what a marvellous way to put it, well done sir.

Thats a question the Charlton and Rovers based reporter to ask.

Nicko was confident of a deal being done at 500k. Which seemed a fair price for a player with 12 months left on contract

"Nicko was confident of a deal being done" should be a red flag to you pal, the guy is a clown

Effectively occupying our PL spot. Playing top flight football against all expectations. Success is 17th. Can afford to throw away £1.5m on a reserve keeper.

Yeah, my sympathy is a little low if I’m honest.

It hasn't been 'our' spot for many years now, skipper.

I don’t think he’s disagreeing with you mate, I just think he’s pointing out how much of an exaggeration it is to be up in arms because we haven’t managed to sort more business out early.

Id have to find the original article with the exact quote - doesn’t he say he’s “like to get everything done” which is not a statement of intent, it’s just wishful thinking in reality - Id like to take Olivia Atwood out for a Sunday lunch but I doubt I’d be criticised much if it never happened.

BDS and Dof95 are right, there is no need for such exaggeration. To suggest we are on our way back down because we have signed anyone yet is absolute garbage.

I'm not up in arms, I have no doubt we will do good business between now and then end of the window, I'm just questioning why TM bothered to give a date of when he wants to get his business done as I see no point in it and it gets the supporters hopes up unnecessarily. I also certainly don't think we are on our way back down, quite the opposite!

Ya, imagine. Saying you want to get something done by a specific date. What a bizzare thing to do. Nobody has ever said they would do something by a certain date before. This is undoubtedly a first.

If you're going to make a response at least counter my argument with something rather than just drivel. Maybe give me a reason why you think it was a good idea for our Tone to state a certain date he wants to buy players by?

Last summer I thought we were proactive (for us).

    Whittingham signed 13th June

    Dack signed 27th June

    Gladwin 28th June

    Samuel 19th July

    Harry Chapman loan 4th August

    Antonsson loan 11th August

All about what folk think 'early' means, and Mowbray putting needless pressure on himself and the club by putting up the Austria camp as a date for having players in.

This. Absolutely no need for him to come out and state a date he wants business done by, especially in a World Cup year.

A few accounts on twitter saying we are trying hard for Jack Wilshire.

Welcome to the silly season of the internet age

What kind of saddo runs these accounts and what do they gain from doing so?

Because people bite on their titbits like you have.

Absolutely spot on re: Conway. Unless the funding for this season is virtually unlimited by Championship standards I find it a very strange move.

I do worry that TM is going to be too loyal and put too much faith in this squad judging by his recent comments in the LT. We have to remember that the rump of the squad got us relegated from the Championship and if TM thinks the squad as it currently stands will have us competitive at the right end of the table I fear he'll be sadly disappointed.

We need at least half a dozen quality additions who can make a difference at Championship level imo, not just squad fillers who will be back up to the existing staff.

I'd be looking for a big nasty centre half experienced at Championship level, ditto for midfield, a ball playing midfielder two wingers with pace, and two strikers who can find the net at this level.

That, or something close to that will be plenty expensive enough without throwing money away on Conway because he's been a decent servant in the past.

If you extrapolate out the points we got with Mowbray as manager in the Championship over a whole season we would have finished 9th. It was Coyle that really f8cked us I think that needs remembering. Not saying we don't need additions to the squad we absolutely do, I just don't think we should underestimate the contribution Coyle made to us going down not just the players.

How can you make a judgment on the PNE players if "you don't know much about them" ?   Nonsensical.

Nothing  negative except we've re-signed 2 old codgers who are likely to struggle next year.

I think calling DG an old codger is a bit harsh!

Granted Conway didn't add much last season but its been made clear he is a big part of the strong relationships between players in the dressing room so I can see the logic.

I think that's slightly dramatic and I would imagine there are many ongoing transfer negotiations. Who is to say that 2 of the 5/6 won't come in tomorrow. Give Tony some credit.

OK, possibly a bit dramatic but, can you tell me  you think its a good idea to state a date that he wants his signings done by? Personally it just leaves me disappointed when it doesn't happen. If we've signed 5 players and a few loans by June 24th I will hold my hands up and admit I was wrong.
