Coyle should never have been supported by the fanbase IMV, for numerous reasons. I said that at the time and still very much believe it - however, most of the ire should have been directed towards Venky's rather than the man himself.

It's catch 22, we all know the big issue is ownership and structure. Tony's results, for me at least, show that a good manager does have the propensity to make a difference.

Appointing Coyle was suicidal. A blind man on a galloping horse could see that. Give him a chance ? He'd had his chances at Bolton, Wigan and whatever club he managed in the US !

The man WAS appointed. What are we supposed to do after that? Get the games stopped till he's gone? Are the 100% none militant Rovers fan base who didn't do that after half time against Norwich equally responsible?

If you don't understand it, don't respond. Leave it to those who do.

Thinly veiled? Don't blame me if you were one of those who thought Coyle deserved a chance - despite his obviously @#/? record - just because a ball hadn't been kicked.

Don't blame me if... jesus wept.!!

There are no fans who are to blame. Wasn't I reading you cut a poster down earlier for 2 sentences in 2/300 words that you could wait to "quaff" at? For saying the exact thing, the NAPM are not to blame, no fan is to blame, no fans should feel "vindicated" for "giving Coyle a chance when they had no choice".

I'm trying to rationalise what just happened and you've just spent 2-3 minutes trying to counter every point in some kind of one-up-manship.

    Now is not the time.

It's called discussion Stuart, if you don't want it, dont make posts with thinly veiled slants at other fans, or bring back 3 year old bowyer arguments that make no sense.

    1. Although I do like the bloke and would support him next season, I couldn't help but picture an older version of Bowyer as he was helplessly clapping towards the end.

2.In the end he could do nothing about Ipswich rolling over and Bristol playing keep ball but not bothering trying to score. We lost it against Burton, Preston and Barnsley.

    3. Yes, what has happened with Birmingham stinks but ultimately trying to win by one goal has failed more often that it's worked.

    5. Venkys relegated us when they had a choice to make and they (or their advisors) chose Coyle. The #coyleout campaign was blasted last June by the "Give him a chance FFS" brigade but they are vindicated today. Not that it makes anyone feel better to say I told you so.

    1. What should he be doing? Sat on bench? Kicking lumps out of the touch line?

    2. 46 games. If we'd had him from the start it would be different.

    3. We gave goals away through mistakes, those individual errors that cost us points. Setting up to be organised is not "trying to win by one goal", in my humble opinion. To sweep a tactical approach into one sentence like such offers zip.

    4. "Give him a chance brigade"... again, I'm never shocked by the want to group fans together to hit with a short stick! I know you agree that there isn't a single Rovers fan who said he was a good choice, but you cannot be blissfully unaware of how difficult it is to protest an appointment without giving them at least some time to prove themselves.

We agree hugely on the mistakes that Venkys are responsible for but for Tony Mowbray, (for me) he has to stay! I personally see another Lambert scenario.

Sorry if not that clear. No pressure as in, we're not expecting to perform well/to do much. And given what fans are thinking, the league table etc. I think it's fair to say we don't expect much from the team. It seems in these situations, they play a bit better than usual.

Should they feel some responsibility and have they let the club down - absolutely!

Apologies, I get your drift I just think they should feel more pressure tomorrow than any other game - they are on the cusp of putting us in the third tier

Sorry I wasn't indicated that you had said otherwise or at least didn't intend to

I just think an ongoing thing has been the players not giving a damn but continuing to get off lightly because there are bigger enemies.

Full support from the off but let's see what happens should it go bad

I know what you mean, but they are the ones in the shirts. It's obviously pretty short sighted to ignore the big picture, but many of them deserve some stick.

Are we allowed to boo when we go down?

Do what you want, I've never once said that booing shouldn't be "allowed" but I may have been critical of those who do it during a game.

I won't be booing our team, but I might be shouting a few profanities if we turn up not giving a hoot!

  8. No pressure?! Why do I feel like tomorrow is going to be the worst day at Ewood since Wigan 5 years ago, and then Peterborough 3 years ago?

The players should feel some bloody pressure, because (nearly every single one) has completely let this club down, and tomorrow is their final chance to rescue some pride.

If they don't feel pressure tomorrow, they may as well give competitive sport up. If I see apathy on that pitch tomorrow, I will not be returning in August. Not as a boycott, but as someone who has well and truly fell out of love with the sport.

you think David Dunn might be good?

    he is the 100% cert

anyone saying otherwise must have their eyes closed

Not often we agree Mr Slayer but I think you are correct on that.

RV - imo you've made your mind up far too early without reasonable cause!

I would give Damien Johnson the job and let him get to work on a 3 year plan.

Why give a complete novice one of the most difficult jobs in football? Has it slipped your mind that the entire mess we find ourselves in started with sacking off experience for a novice?

I sprinted the first 100 yards of the yorkshire 3 peaks. If only I had kept it up for the other 26 miles I'd be the record holder but that would be as meaningless as extrapolating Mowbrays record over a season.

Meek dispirited performances point to us doing a Coventry and not a Sheffield United next season

    What a surprise!

He can't organise a team at all, have you actually been to any of our games under him?

Yes, plus my opinion of that is based on more than just watching us for the games he's had us. I've seen umpteen managers at Ewood in 25 years of supporting, all with varying levels of organisation. Coyle, Kean, Ince, Berg all the worst.

The players knew their positions better even after only a few weeks under TM. I think we've been harder to break down since his appointment, that's what organised means imo. The best manager for this was Gav's hero, Big Sam!

Under Coil we would have been dead and buried weeks ago, at least TM gave us a bit of hope and a decent run

    (Played 13
    Won 3
    Draw 7
    Lost 3)

whilst he is part to blame I blame the players.

Cross that white line and they roll over. Gutless Spineless Clueless

like i said last week Id not pay them in washers....

The playing staff just ain't good enough. Don't get me wrong, I think a decent manager, Warnock, Mowbray, Lambert etc would've kept us up.

Whilst the big finger will ever point to Venkys for their ceaseless negligence, whichever moron agreed to sign Coyle effectively put us in league 1. Another manager who will likely have his last job in this country working for us.

  13. Just now, RV Blue said:

In what was is he not a poor manager?

Has a decent record. He can organise a team, he's improved our shoddy lot but came to late. He talks sense, he is passionate and the main thing is you can't fairly judge anyone after the timeframe.

Thats without taking the scenario into account, which was god awful and is looking like a step too far.

It would be absolutely ridiculous to point fingers or campaign against TM at this point. It's like castigating a paramedic and blaming him for a car accident, when he turned up after to give medical attention.

  14. Actions always speak louder than words, but when poor actions are backed up with excuses and lies - a manager deserves stick. It's obvious from Tony's demeanour, words and actions that he's putting as much as possible into it.

Thats all Blackburn Rovers fans ever wanted, someone with the right credentials and mindset!

  15. I didn't like the name when I heard it initially, but everything he's said has resonated, I can't think of a single interview I haven't agreed with him.

I can criticise some tactical choices from the outside looking in, but the positives compared to the previous manager are stark. Wish we'd had him all season, I concur we'd be safe.

^This is a typical BRFCS post.

    In the pub, it'd be...

"Did you see Mowbray wearing that claret and blue tie?"

"Aye, not the best choice really. Did you see Zlatan's elbow?"

On here there's at least two pages of follow-up by rubber-neckers foaming at the mouth screaming "IT PROBABLY WASN'T THAT COLOUR AT ALL. IT WAS PROBABLY A ROVERS 100 CLUB TIE. ANYWAY WTF DOES IT MATTER WHAT COLOUR HIS TIE IS???? GET BEHIND THE TEAM / MANAGER / CLEANERS FFS!!!!!!

    Just let things drop. Jeez.

The typical BRFCS element is that this is even worthy of discussion. If Zlatans assault and Tony Mowbrays tie are of similar interest to discussion for you Stuart, remind me never to spend an afternoon in your presence. Sounds tedious.

If you want some credibility chaddy just tell us what you see as the colour of Tony Mowbray's tie as worn yesterday.

If you can't provide a definitive answer then how can we trust your judgement on all footballing matters.

The sheer fact this is even being discussed sums up what level some will stoop to to reaffirm their own prejudice.

Mowbray out (because he doesn't drink enough  bitter for my liking)
