  1. Definate loss on the cards, the squad is not good enough at the moment, and Hughes seems to reluctant to drop players he who are underperforming.

We've got one of the worst defences this season, although Spurs have been firing blanks. Although given Rovers proneness to help teams out under pressure and needing good performances, I can see the Yids scoring a few.

  2. I've looked at a Liverpool message board, and did a search for Warnock here are some quotes on him I found from posters, the scousers dont seem too bothered if they sell him

It also seems the words Warnock and Injury are found alot on their board, just from skimming posts. Im sure someone more informed will know of Warnocks injury record better though.

    -------------------

-Would not have been prepared to give them cash plaus Warnock but IMO Warnock is very very average and if he wasnt a local lad he would have been moved on already.

Has no chance of getting in the england squad again as he will never be a regular here

-England are short of left backs otherwise I very much doubt they would have called the then (and now) third choice left back for LFC. I don't mind Warnock but he is not LFC or England quality for me. I think Neill would have been a fair straight swap.

-Warnock - below par again I thought, troubled a bit out wide very early on but soon got on top again, came on a lot towards the end of the game with some strong off the ball running, I like his hurry-up 5-a-side style footie normally but last night it called for a bit more composure

-There was one clip from yesterday when one of there lads knocked the ball past Warnock and left him for dust. When you see the replay Gonzo was already moving before the other guy to cover Warnock and he won the ball. And he can cross with either foot.

-Warnock: Not good enough despite some admirable qualities

-Yesterday, he had Warnock. I think Stephen's a great little player, don't get me wrong, but he's not the sort that is likely to make overlapping runs. So, I propose that, when Aurelio is fit, we play him at left-back and Riise in midfield.

-Players that are likely not to score:

    Carra, Finnan, Momo, Warnock.

-Aurelio looked reasonably comfortable at left-back but gives us more options going forward than Warnock, as well as another option for a set piece

-I'd be looking to pay about £1.5m tops if i was a manager and wanted Warnock.

-I wouldn't even pay that, given his injury history.

  3. Did a great job at Oldham.

Some of his signings in the Premiership were strange though - for Palace and Charlton.

Real shitter picking up Johnson for peanuts and flogging for 8 million ;)

But yes, how he thinks he could improve what Curbs did paying money for Amdy Faye and Traore ( 2 mill, better deal than Kuqi possibly ) . Hell all Dowie had to do was look at his wikipedia profile to know what he was buying with Faye

'after 1 and a half very disapointing seasons for Newcastle United (in which he frequently gave the ball away, failed to win the ball, failed to get a single shot on target, was unable to block a tame shot, never made an intelligent run, ran like a headless crow, etc.)'

Dowie is a mixture of Souey and Mick Mcarthy, good at getting a coca club club promoted and prem club relegated, poor with large sums of transfer money but shrewd when hes skint.

  4. Everytime hes come on hes looked move threatening then MGP, he hasnt looked out of place in the premiership, All of his goals and assists last season for Stoke were mainly from playing the Left Wing, not the right wing actually. Gally is a exciting play to watch in my opinion, has good skill and can pick out a good pass, hes always look to do something positive, its a shame we arent seeing more of him, maybe Hughes see's his pace and defensive skills as a letdown, again the Stoke fans always used to bash gally for the defensive side of his game.

I think Gally will be looking to leave Rovers come January, he must of thought he'd at least be on the bench with our current Injurys, what does he have to do to be given a chance?

Douglas - the Leeds fans dont even rate him and DONT see him as a starter for them, says it all really. If you dont believe this ( RTM ) take a simple look at their message board www.waccoe.com

  5. Erm... Shay Given and James Beattie to name a few...

Also the only players who have even seen a glimer of first team action from the acadamy are, James McEveley (1 sub appearence), Sergio Peter (not sure how many sub appearences so far but looks like he will get a few games), Paul Gallagher (1 start and 8 sub appearences for about 10 mins a game) and Matt Derbyshire who i think really deserves a tryout...! There are quite a few players who sound like they deserve a small chance at least. I also think choosing a player like Mokoena over some excellent youngters we have... Big thumbs up to our acadamy players who thrashed Utd 3 nil yesterday... Isnt very good for inspiring the moral and hope of Rovers youngsters. This is just my opinion though...

Given and Beattie are the only ones who'd get in our squad though ( beattie might ), plus Given is a sicknote for a goalkeeper

Rovers have judged the quality of academy players far more better then most of the other prem teams, if we've only let Beattie and Given go who were of decent quality then thats a fairly good average compared to the ones we got right!

  6. What absolute nonsense. How on Earth can you call Beckham a primadonna? No-one works harder than him when he's on the pitch, he's obviously not as good as he used to be but that's not through lack of effort.

Effort in marrying one of the world's famous women to boost your own Profile? :D Beckham is all dollars, everything he does is premeditated to improving Brand Beckham. He cant even take being dropped from the England squad without crying to the media days after. Sparky doesnt play him, and he'd be telling Max Clifford to print a woe story in the tabloids the next day.

Plus he makes MGP look like Ben Johnson and Razor Ruddock combined. Can you really see wimpy Beckham coping with the pace and power of the premiership nowadays?.

Although he would be great for bringing in more Punani to Ewood.

  7. OK, thought about it.

I have said some daft things myself in the past, but i really think the whole idea of Becks coming to play for us is quite absurd.

Sorry, but if you honestly think we can afford to give him these wages then good luck to you.

Merchandising is a laugh - we simply do not have enough fans for that and I don't relish the prospect of glory hunters tagging along with him.

Im sure Sponsors would be queueing up though, Beckhams appeal in Asia is huge, Man U used to preseason Japan just because of him and the cash it made them

  8. i think there isnt any chance hughes could pull this one of would be the bigest signing rovers have ever made the shirt sales in places such as china for beckham is amazing the income that he alone would bring and the fans would make the club better of improving finacial and attendance wise. he is still one of the best players in the world but i dont think it will happen.

How can he best one of the best players in the world if he cannot even get in the starting 11 for his own Team or Country?

  9. That is true, IHB. However, he didn't score against Everton, Manchester United or Bolton reserves and only managed a goal against a premiership reserve side in the game against Boro, so he isn't scoring against the sides he plays that is closest to the level some believe he is already ready for.

Boro have one of the best reserve teams in the country though, look at how many of them featured last season for Boro.
