Another way to look at this season's calamity to acknowledge that two managers have got similar tunes from this set of players.
Fair point. But last night Eustace tried to adjust tactically and only made matters worse. Makes me more than sceptical about the rest of the season.

Three out of four of our defenders had one or more sloppy back passes. The fourth was subbed off at HT.

Switched off at 2-0. I can hear the trapdoor opening.
You think we looked switched on prior to that? Hyam had two back passes that just barely made it to our GK before he cocked things up. We couldn't cope with the fast pitch, we're such a slow bunch.

No options on the bench either. Wearing rubber thin.
Park the bus at Elland Road and setup as well as we can for the Owls match at Ewood?- 1

Hyam has been shocking all season except for a short stint of games up until tonight. Not fit to wear the armband.
How the hell is our most important player running around the pitch for the full 90 minutes? If Szmodics suffers an injury it's all over.
Can't manage individual mistakes like the ones Hyam made tonight, but the changes at half-time was capitulation. Pretty crazy.- 1

Practice session for the Leeds game at this point. Think we've given up. Let down by Hyam. Again.

Won't happen if it's away. I've never seen us beat them. And that includes the 5-0 when we were champions. Most other times I've seen Coventry play, they are awful, even if they are on a massive winning streak. I only see them play well against us.
What if it's a home game?

Go and win tomorrow and safety is a game away.
Hmmmm...
Three CBs then?

Could do with a Norwich win to bury Wednesday and contribute to ensuring Coventry have nothing to play for when they come to Ewood
We owe Coventry a beating and a half with their hope still remaining.

That would be nice, QPR look safe but Plymouth a team in trouble potentially
Wednesday pull one back against Norwich
QPR on 44 points before this round, Plymouth on 45.
PNE turning things around versus Huddersfield, never thought I'd cheer for them. Need a miracle from Leicester to make it a pretty good night. It will go down to the wire. -

Do you seriously think that we are going to be signing better players than Travis and Buckley this Summer ? What with - magic beans ?
Nope.

if we get travis back and bucko and jrc stays fit next season we could have a mf battle with whos playing trons
If we want to look up the table I think I would look to offload Travis and Bucko. JRC is good and versatile, but a bit too injury prone.

Should look to win this. Bristol City with nothing left to play for this season. We're up for it, we don't look a nervous bunch at the moment.

I think we need to trade Travis into someone cheaper and equally good, or better. That shouldn't be a huge problem. If it was true that him and JDT didn't see eye to eye, it looked like he had a lot of support from the player group, so they obviously rate him. S. Wharton came out with some pretty damning comments too, which I thought was a bit over the top to be honest. He's a pro...
If SW is in charge of negotiating then it will be a long summer before we get a striker in, if at all.
Szmodics I would ask north of £10m for, he might have had a clause inserted as he was already in red-hot form when he signed his new deal. We really shouldn't stand in his way if he wants to leave, he's been carrying us all season. But don't let him go to a division rival please.

I'd be amazed if signing him permanently would be an option - prem teams don't give away their kids who don't quite make it as readily as they used to.
He's really growing on me though. I had a downer on both him and Ayari after their first few appearances. They looked far too green to come into the situation we found ourselves in. Physically he looks great though and he has improved markedly not he's getting used to the Championship. Even another 12 month loan would be worth exploring.
I actually don't think he'd cost too much. £500-750k?

Same team with Chrisene in for Pickering. We should try and sign him on a permanent, shouldn't be too expensive.

You couldn't have it more wrong about Eustace
But, it isn't a theme to know what you are talking about when it comes to John Eustace to be fair
I can't remember a manager getting as much undue stick on here than this bloke. It borders on stupid to be fair. Eustace had a few job offers before going with Rovers. He wanted this gig
It's not about Eustace at this point, it's about the strained relationship between the club and the fans and he happens to be in the crossfire. With good results people will start forgetting again and the atmosphere will change.

Possibly true but we're not down to the bare bones like we were. That's my point.
That was a stronger starting line-up and a stronger bench than we've had for a while.
Definitely. Agree with both your posts.

We had both McFadzean and Carter on the bench against Sunderland. I think we're in a better place defensively now.
We look a lot better with four at the back and with Tronstad back in the team. Think McFadzean might not play for us again if we avoid injuries/suspensions for Hyam, Wharton and Carter.

One in ten. Needs to become more consistent but a very good match by Dolan. Looked for the pass as well, plus we had bodies forward.

Him as well. So plenty of cover for that position.
No problem at all. He's only scored 23 league goals so far and the next guy in our squad is on five.

Anyone else think a point at Southampton on Saturday? Would take that just now
I think we can beat them. They concede quite a few, and I wouldn't want to play us at the moment considering we're actually quite solid and tough to beat. 2-1 or 1-1.

Yeah, that's pretty damning of GB and Co. The recruitment hasn't been very good at all really.
The problems lie with Waggott and upwards.

Being useless giving press comments is a problem for selling match day tickets.
What I miss was JDT's ability to get the ball passed quicker after half time.
Get the impression Eustace is too busy telling them how brilliant they are to get them to wind it up.
Brittain in particular looks a player who constantly needs shaking out of his comfort zone.
JDT got some excellent performances out of him. Eustace hasn't as yet.
overall we are too one paced and predictable under Eustace which is why ok performances are not being turned into wins.
And more importantly; JDT got the absolute best out of Szmodics and Eustace hasn't. He gets in a lot fewer goalscoring oppurtunities now than earlier in the season and that's because we're less open. Been scoring against all odds recently. I would instruct Hedges, Dolan etc. to look for our only outlet as their decision-making (especially Dolan's) is questionable at times.

Eustace 'sort of' apologised in his post-match interview. Hyam is the one that should come out and say something, that was a shockingly poor performance, even by his low standards (judged on this season).
