He’s hardly going to tell the truth
”Honestly lads I don’t care. I’ll be 70 after this season and this job has given me a final few years to top up my savings and pension. If it looks like it’s going to get stressful financially I’m just going to bail out. I’m making key decisions now but in 2 or 3 years time I really won’t give two hoots about Blackburn Rovers. I’m not concerned or have any emotion regarding the long term future of this club. I’m in it purely to do the financial wishes of the owners in the present and get well rewarded for it.”

Even if we stay up, I imagine we will be in the drop zone by the Sheff Wednesday game and it will come down to those two last home games.

The Stoke game was a good performances. We don’t know how much influence Eustace had on that game, but it’s worrying that the performances since Stoke have got worse with the football getting poorer. The longer he’s here, the worse the football is. Yesterday was as bad as the QPR performance if not worse, with poor finishing letting us off with a draw.
Now we have been playing midweek / Saturday so it’s been a bit limited what JE can work on, but JDT’s home performances against Watford, Rotherham and Huddersield were significantly better than what we saw yesterday even though they themselves were pretty shitty .
If it’s right that Carter misses most of the season we are seriously hoping that one of the young centre halves proves to be a surprise success and that Tronstadt is back and can stay fit for the rest of the season after the international break. The situation is getting bleaker and I’m not getting many positives from Eustace either on or off the pitch.

I don't think we'll win another game all year.
Now what odds would you get on that?

Arsenal and Spurs have announced 10 and 6% price hikes in season tickets for 24-25. However Spurs are doing away with their senior season tickets for any fans reaching 65 after that. There is a great quote in the article that says 'Football has a spending oroblem, not an income problem'.

Waggot-esque
Why have old people when we can sell that seat to younger people for more money.

As others have alluded to, the head coach (be it JDT or JE) can only work with the cards they have been dealt, which in my opinion have been pretty shitty.
The real fault lies one step up the food chain and upwards from there.
JDT got cut a bit of slack because he was the first person we've had who was prepared to highlight the incompetence above. Previously most managers just tow the line and thank the owners, and I fear that is where we back are.

Pears was awful for both the goals on Saturday. He's not the messiah.
He’s not, but he is clearly the best that Saint Gregg has left us with.

Not sure if it was the game at the weekend or the one prior, but heard on commentary wed just appointed a second coach.
Probably just leased.

Its 6 points in 6 games since JDT left.
Yes but we played Leicester back in October.

Aside from the QPR game, where I think everything had come to a head with JDT behind the scenes, we tend to at least be competitive against the average sides at Ewood. Being terrible away from home is not unusual for us so the Cardiff, Brum and Swansea performances are a repeat of what we are used to.I think we either win this, or dominate but end up drawing. I’d be surprised if we lose.

The team needed directions and instructions from him to make sure we won that game. Stoke was on the up.during that second half
I mean the Rovers own official site says on all news articles and reports around the Stoke and Birmingham games that he officially took charge for the Birmingham game. It states that Lowe and Johnson took charge for the Stoke game but does acknowledge Eustace turned up on the touchline after 60 minutes with rovers leading 3-1.
Are people really that desperate to paint a rosey picture they are trying to give him that.
The statistics on all footy stats sites have him as managing 5 league games and yet to win, and whether his era comes to an end in 4 months or 4 years the Stoke game will always be excluded from his stats.
As I’ve said, I don’t blame him that much so far. To get an instant reaction with this squad was always going to be difficult. I’m certainly not thinking he should be anywhere near being sacked. But he still is yet to win a game.

11 minutes ago, chaddyrovers said:So why was he on the touchline second half? Why was given players orders from the touchline?
Because we were 3-1 up and it was a good PR move. If we had been 3-1 down he would have stayed out of sight.

He did want the Forest Green job who are below Accrington Stanley.
Surprised at that. If so then Stanley would be ideal all round.

Wouldn't surprised me if Stanley appoint Gary Bowyer.
After success at Dundee, I think Bowyer would probably want club with more chance of achieving something, but if they got him it would be a great appointment.

Yet again a top 10 PL team Moran and Buckley played very well there. Ayari also.
I would go for Ayari and Buckley against Millwall unless Tronstad is back.
But against Swansea, who played a typical championship game rather than leaving lots of space and being very attacking, they were overrun and poor. If Travis was here he would be the first name on the team sheet Tuesday, but he isn’t because of JDT and Fraudton.

The style of football very poor? What style would you play with this set of players and Formation
But when we kept saying JDT had to change the way he was playing and be slightly more direct you were adamant that we should keep playing tippy tappy possession football. You said we didn't have the players to change style and this is how you wanted to watch your team play.
Now you seem to be saying that, with the payers we have, we can only expect a boring style of football.
The problem is the squad is unbalanced. It's not all shite, but is lacking in certain areas. Looking at the Milwall thread, Im thinking you can't play a midfield two combination from Buckley, Ayari and Moran as we will just be lightweight and get overrun, but unless Tronstad is fit we have no options. A problem entirely of our own creation.
And up front we either stick with Gallagher and hope he has one of his 1 in 4 'good' performances, or end up switching around and playing an attacking midfielder up there which might have suited JDT at times but doesn't seem to suit Eustace's gameplan.
JDT clearly had stubbornly downed tools and that was creating animosity in the squad. Broughton has recruited poorly and has been part of the January transfer balls-ups. Waggot has been happy to cost cut with glee, and I hardly think he goes into meetings with Pasha and the owners with any determination to affect the outcome. A complete pound-pinching yes man. Ultimately they all carry some degree of responsibility here, so whilst Ive been disappointed in Eustace I'm not calling him out yet.
Ultimately Venkys oversee the whole shit-show. They put charlatans running the club and their dodgy activity has forced the financial crisis that is now upon us. Their apathy to the club engulfs Ewood.
Back to the manager, Eustace hasn't been great and hasn't had a new manager bounce but I think it would take a pretty good manager to have had a serious impact with this squad. I fear JE is just an average one. I just hope we can have a spell at the end of the season with Hedges, Carter and Tronstadt all fit and available.

We probably need 4 wins in 11 games.
I suspect at least one has to come by 5pm next Saturday.
I’d take 4 points in the next week and hope to get JRC, Tronstadt and Hedges fit for the remainder.

He had a very prestigious cup win at Arsenal too. I couldn't help thinking about that the other night..
Yep. Nondescript manager brought in during terrible team form and off pitch shenanigans and has no noticeable effect other than a surprising cup performance.

Just slow and shits out of tackles. He will certainly be one of the first ones in the dinghy over the next few weeks.

Come on use your brain?
If Gregg had actually control he would have spent more than £0. The board gave the instruction no feesHe spent £800k on fucking Leo. He will have part authorised Travis leaving. Use your fucking brain.
But to @ABBEY’s point, yep the fact budgets are all over the place, money can’t get in and we employ charlatans to run the club is ultimately down to the idiots in India.

Sold Wharton, loaned out Travis, brought in the crocked Fleck and already lumbered us with Moran.
The man responsible for the football side of things, Gregg Broughton ladies and gentleman.
