When you see we have only lost 2 out of 11 games which Pratt has started, I find that very harsh. I mean, look when the hammerings started in January. Also the Portsmouth defeat in November was the only game he was benched. Probably was saying non when he should have been saying oui.

Out of interest, why would you have Wagner as a no. His record in the UK stands up to far more scrutiny than many others mentioned. Did very well at Huddersfield. Yes he got sacked when they were bottom of the Prem but got them up and kept them up for a season. Got sacked for after taking over a mid-table Norwich and getting them in the play offs the following season. Mis-step at Schalke during the closed doors COVD period, but they ended up going down after he left. He'd be my preferred pick from the list.

I’d be very wary about his methods adapting to English football. 2 wins in 13 when he was in charge. 8 wins from 17 since he left. Southampton clearly picked up after he left. Bringing him in in this scenario when we need an instant impact would be foolish.

That's why I feel Bowyer is a runner, even though he's not listed in the odds yet. Reasonably successful at one club, failed at another. That's where I think we are at. At best, it will be someone who has a mixture of failure and successes. From the list, Wagner was my clear choice last time and still is. But I think he wouldn't take it.

The question on new managers is who would work with Gestede. Your likes of Warnock wouldn't. I had a look through out of work managers over the weekend and the three I came up with were Poyet, Bilic and Lee Bowyer. Not in as much as my choice but they are out of work and could apply.

Agree. In that situation in business you can present it as an opportunity that has unexpected arisen but needs special investment. There were plenty of ways to do that than just sayin “I want money”. And if they say no, they say no, but at least he has asked.
