  1. What are you referring to by current climate, cos I can only understand that if by it you mean uninterested, dumb owners who currently are unprepared to put money into the club.
  2. To be fair we’ve had a few posters trying to spin that kind of stuff for the men’s team during our 4 defeats so far.
  3. What if other mediocre Championship clubs offer those players average Championship salaries we “don’t agree with” ?
  4. Ah, should we have broken our “wage budget”? Problem is no one on here knows what that was or is. In order to answer that question you need to know what the exiting players were on, what they wanted, what the overall salary budget was and what we are up to now at the end of the window. Only then can you ascertain what we could have offered Brittain or Travis. You can’t just say “we aren’t paying over X amount”. Maybe we could have kept Travis or Brittain if we used the wages we are wasting for Forshaw. What makes me suspicious is we had two players on, say, £12k a week and we supposedly made good offers to try and keep them, as well as making offers to Batth and Hyam (and Dolan). Therefore, if that is to believed then the money we were offering them must all have been “within budget”. I bet the salary costs now are far lower than had they all said yes. In which case, there should have been plenty of money in the budget. So it’s not a simple question at all.
  5. The idea is to get the club running on its off its own back with minimal input from the owners, even if that means league one or league two. By championship standards there wasn’t a high wage ‘mess’, but the owners no longer want to fund the club at this level like all other non-parachute owners need to. So yes the plan is different in that we appear to want to cut salaries to even lower levels that we have operated at for the last 15 years.
  6. We had such a good window Chaddy that you changed your prediction of top 6 to ‘midtable’.
  7. He also clearly said any outgoings would be replaced, and then we sold Hyam at the last minute.
  8. By far. There’s been a few teams away fans I’ve spoke post-game stopping in the Fernhurst who I’ve rerouted to Darwen instead of Blackburn. Unless we’ve lost and they’ve annoyed me. In which case I’ve said “yeah it’s a great night in Blackburn” and they’ve probably eventually ended up in Sam’s Bar thinking WTF?
  9. Have we had any young players remotely ‘make it’ to some degree in our first team who were on loan at non-league level in their 20’s? Or indeed at any age 18+ (Genuine question, I can’t think of any)
  10. Boss, where’s the pigs in blankets gone?
  11. Going back to Hyam my view is that he is a bang average, middle of the road centre back. However in the last 10 years what better centre backs have we had that we have owned? There's a couple that spring to mind but they aren't massively better (and both were pretty experienced). It's not a position we've been blessed in.
  12. Who was actually in charge? Same question I suspect as who actually interviewed and chose Owen Coyle as manager? Something which has never been answered.
  13. If ever a post showed you up for happy-clapping trolling it's that one. You know what you have put up is incorrect. Otherwise, please explain why the hell our club is selling Hyam, Travis, Brittain, Buckley and JRC for just €2.03m combined. At least Chaddy has had the sense to go into self-imposed exile for a bit rather than try to justify this window.
  14. He will just throw his replies through AI and ask it to correct the English language and make him sound intelligent. Like I will do to this sentence. He will invariably channel his responses through an artificial intelligence model to elevate the linguistic precision and intellectual tone—much in the same manner as I shall with this very statement. Of course, AI was really made for this:- There once was a fellow named Rudy, Whose management bordered on broody. He shouted, not led, Left logic for dead, And ran the place poorly and rudely.
  15. If they refuse to keep paying the matched bond we are.
  16. It's the fact he's leaving now. Even if you take the view of "it's a good fee" and we invested a big chunk of that money in a replacement we won't get them in untill January (which is always overpriced or limited ) And as we saw last time we went down, by then it could be too late.
  17. Remember I said senior players were unhappy with Waggot / Pasha back in March after Eustace left. Since then Travis, Batth, Brittain, Weimann have left. Looks like they want Hyam out and Pears is ‘missing’. JDT names Pasha and he’s gone overnight. The guy looks like he is a shadowy control freak who deals with dissent by shipping people out.
  18. Telalovic didn’t score in 20 appearances for us. He was a flop. He scored a few last season in the German second tier. That tells me it’s probably an easier league than the Championship. I bet this year in the Bundesliga will be a different story. Awful signing.
  19. Move on? You brought his name up FFS.
  20. Which also perfectly coincided with losing Travis and having no replacement as the squad was wafer thin. We then lost Baker and replaced those two with a guy who couldn’t get in bottom placed Plymouth’s team. Ismael will hit the same problems during the season, let’s hope he has points in the bank by then.
  21. Apparently we’re changing our name to Jupiler Pro Rovers 👍
  22. Yeah I get what you get for Coyle so Transfermarkt has it wrong.
  23. Let’s hope Ismael can pad his record out by beating shit sides in the cups. Oh wait.. Transfermrkt has Owen Coyle at 1.11 ppg at Rovers and Ismael at 1.06
  24. We shouldn’t have had a point yesterday as we had no one good enough to put the ball in the net, something we have been highlighting all summer Against Birmingham, we got what we deserved due to a lack of individual quality in the last 5 minutes. Downgrade your players and that’s what happens. The individual performances so far have been less that what we were used to from those they have replaced. Let’s hope they either adapt or improve quickly. You say tactics isn’t the problem. I’m inclined to agree. It’s the quality of the players why we have lost 4 out of 5. Otherwise what else are we blaming? Luck? Referees?
  25. People were moving out of their seats in the JW Upper as the roof was leaking on them. Row about 19 or 20. Fortunately there was plenty of space around them.
