As per my earlier posts, I'm going to have a stab they will look at Lee Bowyer. -

Fail to beat Wednesday or lose at Norwich and Ismael will be gone. I said all along it would be after the transfer window closes. The heat is rising and Pasha / Rudy will need to make another sacrifice soon. -

The question on new managers is who would work with Gestede. Your likes of Warnock wouldn't. I had a look through out of work managers over the weekend and the three I came up with were Poyet, Bilic and Lee Bowyer. Not in as much as my choice but they are out of work and could apply. -
He did make up a "measly 3 points". He didn't overturn the -7 goal difference he inherited which he also needed to turn around.

Again, I'm not one to stick up for officials normally, and that’s true but harsh to blame him. If you look in this first picture before the first through ball is played he is up with play. He is however having to watch the ball to see when it is played. As the ball is played, two professional athletes start to sprint forwards. He has to try see watch when the first pass happened, watch for the second contact whilst watching the 'line' and also sprint to keep up with a sudden change of pace. On the second screenshot, look how far up the pitch they have actually moved. Ultimately he ends up a yard or so behind which probably makes a very tight call look onside. If you haven't got VAR, I think you've got to accept these happen. There's some they really should see (when the line is static", but I will let him off there, especially as the defenders toe might still be playing him on.

You weren’t talking John Williams. You were talking someone “slightly resembling competent”. By which point yes there is a chance he would have got here, same as he got to Sunderland, West Brom, Birmingham and Celtic. He wasn’t my choice, but was middle of the road as far as options went. He’s got a win percentage of 40%+ at 7 of his 9 clubs, generally in englands top 2 division. If we get anyone in after Ismael with anywhere near that record i will be gobsmacked. First season he was unlucky. To blame him for relegation and not acknowledge he made a decent fist of turning us around is nothing more than blinkered hatred of the guy. He got a squad that even now looks very limited (albeit better than the current one) running at 1.46 points per game. The same people who say “his job was to keep us up, he failed”, then don’t accept his job second season was to get us up and he succeeded. To Rev’s point, yes we should have won the league and that pissed me off, but that was a secondary target. He achieved his main target quite comfortably, something that not every club that goes down does. After that he started losing it with weird team selections, and many of his comments were stupid. He seemed to not be able to break the death spirals. He certainly should have pushed for more money when we were in the top 6. That wasnt honourable, that was dumb. He should have gone before he eventually did. But criticising him for those first two seasons is just stupid. And frothing at the mouth about him like he is Jerome Anderson or Steve Kean is bizarre.

It's a lot closer than it looked on the ground and on the TV camera angle. Probably off but tight enough I can let the linesman off.

Agree. In that situation in business you can present it as an opportunity that has unexpected arisen but needs special investment. There were plenty of ways to do that than just sayin “I want money”. And if they say no, they say no, but at least he has asked. -
Twaddle. His first 2.5 season were good.He was arguably the right man at the right time.He just stayed too long.

Mowbray believes that had his character been different and he been more difficult in transfer dealings, he may have delivered a return to the Premier League. Mowbray said: “I’d been to India, sat in front of them and told them I wouldn’t go back, and asked for more money. I could’ve and said we’re second in the league, but I never did it; it’s not in my personality. It’s probably why I’ve spent most of my career in the Championship. “I do wonder whether I’d have been a bit nastier; if I’d moaned to owners or stamped my feet, I might have won more. But it’s not in my values; I didn’t feel I could go back.” -
I don’t think he would save us and don’t really want him back. I never said I did. i wanted him gone for two years before he left us. I just think he did a good job in the season he was appointed and was unlucky all the teams at the bottom also went on similar runs. That was freakish, as was going down with 51 points.
-
Your correct in that he couldn’t get a team which was in the bottom 3 to suddenly go on a run of form better than that which over the course of a season would have been good enough to have earned a play off spot most seasons. By that measure he failed. But that’s a massively unfair bar to set unless you have an agenda against somebody. The problem is Mowbray started making strange decisions and saying stupid things in the last few years he was here. I wanted him gone at the end as much as anyone. But I can also acknowledge he did a good job in those first 18 months he was here.

I’m getting told off here for constantly flicking between 3 premier league games, the darts and the racing. 😂
-
No. As you say, they have tried to cover the ref by pretending he had given it for shirt pulling. In that instance, the call they have made is correct. But that’s not why he gave it. Incidentally, I think they scored from the free kick as well.
-
He was clearly tugging his shirt so there was a foul. He was just clever enough to let it go as they went into the box. But you’re right. It was a bad original decision by the ref where he gave the pen for the tackle, and had he not let go of the shirt when he did they would have re-reffed it with VAR to probably give a pen.

Duff won’t come. It’s a poisoned chalice for anyone with a reputation to ruin. Whoever we get will be like Val, off a scrap heap hoping for one last chance. Lee Bowyer for example. Which is shit, but is where we are. Regardless, we might as well roll the dice cos we can’t be any worse. -
They couldn’t even tell Mowbray if they were renewing his contract or not when he had about 4 weeks left. He wouldn’t touch us again.

He should be gone now. A win on Tuesday just means they won’t touch him until after the Norwich game on Saturday. And that’s just time and games wasted. It’s just a carbon copy of 2017. -

Have they cancelled yet? -
Not sure what his strength is meant to be yet. Gudjohnssen is a good finisher who takes up good positions. Ohashi works tirelessly and is mobile. But Jorgensen I haven’t worked out yet. He’s not looked terrible and hopefully over time we will work out what he will bring.

I said I couldn’t see him going until after the window shuts so a new manager can only inherit what we have. I think he will be gone by after Norwich.
