  1. I was sat in the ‘new’ Darwen End for that game and Jones and co. came sliding in front of us, so definitely Premier League 93/94 season.
  2. As I said, the result standing is usually only invoked if it’s abandoned due to crowd issues, fans tying to get the game stopped etc.. It’s just one rule to cover several eventualities. I can’t think of a precedent in a league where the result has stood due to weather unless both teams have agreed.
  3. There is an element that 20+ years ago that match would have carried on for 10 more minutes without a thought.
  4. Do matchday ticket holders get free admission to the replayed game?
  5. What was the last game anyone can remember called off mid-game at Ewood?
  6. Chaddy’s going to have us second in the league on 15 points now 😀
  7. About 1 min before they went off. VID-20250920-WA0008.mp4
  8. It will be replayed 100%. The wording is as it is so that if fans invade the pitch to get games abandoned when behind, the result still stands. With the weather it will just be replayed.
  9. At least you got your stake money back 👍
  10. I don’t know what the rules are with the ball needing to be rolling. I remember Conway chipping one in late on years ago on a worse rain-sodden pitch than that. Today he pulled them off the first time the ball really stuck. I suspect he thought it was going to get worse and that it was an easier decision at 79 minutes than had it become farcical at 87 minutes.
  11. That's just not true for me. I'm in JW and his speed of thought is not good. He doesn't play it when he should, and when he does play it he's not got the ball right. He's not bad, and is strong and a good athlete, but as an actual footballer Brittain was clearly better.
  12. It’s just raining. Nothing special. It will be on.
  13. You missed the bit about him wanting a new contract in December / January under Eustace but the club refusing to discuss one.
  14. Yeah my mate didn’t realise the card still worked so he ditched his card in the summer. There’s just no reason to remove the ability to screenshot the ticket as it has been for the last few seasons with digital tickets. He probably can’t go tomorrow. Once upon a time he’d drop it off in the morning and I’d ring around and find someone to go with. Now, I’d have to find someone with a customer number and somehow get him to link to them and officially transfer it whilst he is travelling. And even then it can only be done 6 times a season. It will just mean another empty seat at Ewood 9 or 10 games this season. Suhail and The Gooner don’t care as it’s been paid for. I’ll see what the weathers like and if it’s as bad as forecast I might give it a miss going on my own and just fire up a dodgy streaming site. Two empty seats.
  15. Frustrating. Just another simple thing which will inevitably leads to another small reduction in season tickets going forward.
  16. Can anyone confirm if screenshots of digital tickets work?
  17. Chesterfield fans debating whether Markanday should be starting.
  18. What are you referring to by current climate, cos I can only understand that if by it you mean uninterested, dumb owners who currently are unprepared to put money into the club.
  19. To be fair we’ve had a few posters trying to spin that kind of stuff for the men’s team during our 4 defeats so far.
  20. What if other mediocre Championship clubs offer those players average Championship salaries we “don’t agree with” ?
  21. Ah, should we have broken our “wage budget”? Problem is no one on here knows what that was or is. In order to answer that question you need to know what the exiting players were on, what they wanted, what the overall salary budget was and what we are up to now at the end of the window. Only then can you ascertain what we could have offered Brittain or Travis. You can’t just say “we aren’t paying over X amount”. Maybe we could have kept Travis or Brittain if we used the wages we are wasting for Forshaw. What makes me suspicious is we had two players on, say, £12k a week and we supposedly made good offers to try and keep them, as well as making offers to Batth and Hyam (and Dolan). Therefore, if that is to believed then the money we were offering them must all have been “within budget”. I bet the salary costs now are far lower than had they all said yes. In which case, there should have been plenty of money in the budget. So it’s not a simple question at all.
  22. The idea is to get the club running on its off its own back with minimal input from the owners, even if that means league one or league two. By championship standards there wasn’t a high wage ‘mess’, but the owners no longer want to fund the club at this level like all other non-parachute owners need to. So yes the plan is different in that we appear to want to cut salaries to even lower levels that we have operated at for the last 15 years.
