  1. We won the league at Anfield, And then the Worthy cup, We were the pride of Lancy Then Venky's fucked it up. They gave our club to agents Let Pasha run the place. And all they got in return. Is a snowball in the face. Allez, Allez, Allez ........
  2. The City lads didn’t look happy during that mauling. Well played chaps.
  3. I’ve not been following this, but if Mafoumbi came on for his 30 second cameo and converted his whatever to a whatever, could we then send him on loan? Because if I were him I’d want to go somewhere in league two where I might get some senior minutes, and would gladly make a first team appearance just to be able to get that? Or am I misunderstanding this?
  4. And yet in the last 10 years I can’t think of many better holding central midfielders we have had than Travis or Tronstadt (Wharton excepted). He’s been better than Lowe, Evans, Grimes, Guthrie, Akpan, Bennet, Tunnicliffe, Williamson, Smallwood, Trybull, Whittingham, JRC, Davenport, Buckley, Johnson, Holtby, Garrett, Morton, Baker, Forshaw. The only one I can find is possibly Harrison Reed. And most of those above were brought in during eras when we probably paid more like the going wage in salaries and loan fees. Tronstadt is an absolute one off. There is very little chance that if Travis leaves we will get someone in of the same quality in the Euro bargain bucket we shop in. The damage was done 6 to 18 months ago by not renewing his contract. I reckon a lot of these would have renewed last November / December under JE. Money brought in doesn’t help the squad, so for the sake of our Championship status I hope we keep him and he walks on a free next summer,
  5. I mean fair play for nailing your colours to the mast. It was only his first game, the team were not playing well in general and on paper he looks a very good signing. The fans of the club he signed from sing his praises and his highlight reel looks good. Hopefully he will prove to be a welcome addition. But watching the game if you had told me we had signed some big journeyman from the National League I'd have believed you. He looked lost.
  6. And if they are of equal ability then fine, but when you’re in the pound shop market I’d rather prioritise mobility, defensive situational awareness, timing of when to make a tackle and the ability to head the ball away. It might be because we rarely have had that left/right combo throughout the 90s and 2000s, when we generally were defensively good, that I feel it’s over-appreciated.
  7. That will be reflective at all levels of football. Craig Short and and Henning Berg were both right footed last time we got out of this league. If you have a choice of centre backs you think are even then get the left footer, but ultimately you should be getting the best defenders we can you can with our budget, not limiting our options by eliminating approximately 80% of the potential centre backs we could be looking at.
  8. Modern football myths exposed. ✅ Partnerships with a Right-Footed + Left-Footed Duo 1. Rio Ferdinand (Right) & Nemanja Vidić (Left) ⚖️ Classic balanced pairing. Ferdinand on the right, Vidić on the left. 2. Sergio Ramos (Right) & Raphaël Varane (Right) ❌ Both right-footed. 3. Franco Baresi (Right) & Alessandro Costacurta (Right) ❌ Both right-footed. 4. Carles Puyol (Right) & Gerard Piqué (Right) ❌ Both right-footed. 5. Ronald Koeman (Right) & Frank Rijkaard (Right) ❌ Both right-footed (Rijkaard sometimes played in midfield though). 6. Lucio (Right) & Walter Samuel (Left) ✅ Balanced pairing. Lucio right-footed, Samuel left-footed. 7. Tony Adams (Right) & Steve Bould (Right) / Martin Keown (Right) ❌ All right-footed. 8. Fabio Cannavaro (Right) & Alessandro Nesta (Right) ❌ Both right-footed. 9. Laurent Blanc (Right) & Marcel Desailly (Right) ❌ Both right-footed. 10. Mats Hummels (Right) & Jérôme Boateng (Right) ❌ Both right-footed.
  9. Translation: "I agree with selling Travis now VI has hinted at it".
  10. But surely you are interested in reading what the Fans Forum members say happened in the meeting? They will show you the absolute incompetence of Suhail Pasha and the extent that the football club will go to in order to avoid publishing the truth. So please make sure you read the ones I have linked you to. I posted the link because it's been 4 days since they have been on here and you haven't commented on them, which is strange considering their content. Therefore I thought you may not have seen them. You're welcome 👍 Of course feel free to read them in your own time.
  11. “Ss stated that no one knew Wharton would be a good player at youth level” Is the quote in the minutes. You’d need someone from the forum to tell us whether there was any doubt about the context it was said in.
  12. That’s what everyone who attended the last fans forum agreed he said.
  13. JDT and Eustace were good managers in an upward trajectory. Mowbray did better than some give him credit for, but benefited from a brief spell when we would pay decent money and salaries for the likes of Gallagher, Downing , Armstrong, Elliot etc.. Ismael was perceived as having failed in his last 2 British jobs and was well and truly in last chance saloon. He’s also going to have to cope with Operation Downgrade with regards to the squad. I think there’s more chance we will be worrying about if we can afford or are willing to pay off his 3 year contract, rather than if he will leave us. Im just it convinced yet whether his aim is to take us forward, or to facilitate Suhail cutting costs regardless.
  14. I said that yesterday. Being big doesn’t make a great header. Samba was a big lad, could read the flight of the ball and had a decent leap. Shearer wasn’t the tallest, but he could read the flight of the ball the moment it left the wingers foot. Gueye is just tall. He naturally will get his head on things, but there’s not a lot of control on it. Then again, as we say about a lot of players, if he could leap and head it like Duncan Ferguson he wouldn’t be here.
  15. How incompetent is our academy staff to not even think he was "that good". Unless we're lying of course.
  16. Here you go Chaddy If the club are refusing to publish these as an honest representation of the meeting, who do you think is lying - The club? Or every fans forum attendee who agreed that these minutes are accurate?
  17. Alebiosu was OK in a knock-it-and-run down the wing and cross or win a corner kind of way. Still should have done better for the goal regardless of the attention of the opposition player. He doesn't worry me as much as De Neve and Hendriksson did ,as we have another potentially good option there with Miller.
  18. If Kargbo is considered to be our best player then we really are screwed. Yep. And as we hadn't taken possession of the ball when the ref blew, the defender was the one who had played the ball last he was right to give it to them. For the Miller one, he waited before he blew, so they had time to take possession and break.
  19. Ok, but that was exactly the point I was arguing when you initially quoted me.
  20. As surely does saying if we had got the penalty we would have got at least a point. We might have missed it or they might have started attacking again.
  21. So if he’d sent Henriksson off in the first 15 minutes you have been happy and we would have got a point. He would have got booked for 2 of those 3 fouls in the second half. And Travis is all over Price for their goal. He was generally shit and it was a penalty on Yuki but come on, it wasn’t his fault we could muster a meaningful chance.
  22. Just to clarify, I was highlighting his stupidity rather than agreeing 😉
  23. The interviewer said we should possibly have come away with at least a point.
