  1. Officially 19,552 which would be about 12,500 Rovers fans. Having said that the concourse was light so I suspect a few season ticket holder s counted in there were absent for one reason or another.
  2. Lot of effort and generally we were ok. However pieces of poor play combined to see us lose it. De Neve, Tavares and Miller have to stop that situation before the penalty. Tavares corner is shocking, as is the decision to commit so many men that far forward. Not sure who the defender is who doesn’t even stick a leg out to stop the cross for the winner. As Travis is clearly first choice midfielder then his promised ‘replacement’ should also be first choice. Let’s wait and see.
  3. So don’t come out, smile and say it’s going to be an exciting summer. Gestede knows the game, and they’ve removed GB and employed Gestede to make sure they have a patsy to implement it. He’s not going to rock the boat and try and negotiate more funds for the players like I suspect previous people may have done, so in my mind he’s complicit. The jury is out on VI on this point.
  4. I’m fuming because they have the fucking bare face cheek to say in public that they “remain committed” to open communication, when every fan groups attending meetings with them agree that trying to communicate with them is bullshit. We’ve got a first team coach / former interim head coach, who the the current head coach says has left. But the board cant confirm. “Open communication”. I can’t understand how people can’t see the problem here by looking outside the manufactured Travis ‘smokescreen’.
  5. How can you refuse to accept and publish minutes of a fans forum meeting which all different fan groups attending agree are accurate, and then say they are committed to “open communication.”
  6. Unlucky. Niall was phenomenal. Good effort through and a great distraction through the last few weeks.
  7. No. He didn’t like not being offered a new contract when he wanted one, and then a popular manager he had a bond with leaving due to the club refusing to show ambition with the current players or the squad in general. Probably doesn’t care one bit what Val said.
  8. Bradford’s last win at Ewood was 1921, until last Tuesday.
  9. Ok. No probs. I tend to post, then reread and correct and I thought you were criticising the unedited grammar / spelling.
  10. Didn’t realise someone would quote me 20 seconds after I posted before I proof read it.
  11. “Trav wants to leave because we didn’t offer him a contract when he would have signed, and now myself, Rudy and Pasha are running the ship he doesn’t like our attitude or lack of ambition. Therefore he’s got a better offer we won’t match so he’s off”
  12. On Tuesday we played a kid keeper and another youngster in Montgomery. There's an argument the rest are generally first team or in close contention. The only real excuse is a few of them are new to English football this summer. I think most of us will admit that there wasn't a ton of changes we could make that would make us significantly stronger. Keeper obviously. We expect a long old season. I'll not type it again but you can see the reasons why in my post here on another thread. Good luck at Stoke.
  13. Cue the next person to say "but we still need to keep communicating", whilst all those that have genuinely gone out of their way to try this like @K-Hod and @Mike Graham are saying it is futile.
  14. You were pointing out some peoples initial opinions could be wrong. I’m just pointing out sometimes those opinions are proven correct. Also, who wrote him off? The comment was on his game last night, and if that poster thought he looked awful then what is he meant to do. Lie and say he was ok?
  15. Also, same people writing off Henriksson are the same people who wrote off Telalovic when he first came.
  16. Im all for bashing the club, but we’ve always done this with large followings even pre-Venkys. Also it is not happened cos we’ve given Brum 7500 tickets, it’s cos they’ve sold them. Had we only given them 4000 tickets the issue would be worse. Id be amazed how many people who haven’t got tickets already will want to attend this but aren’t on the database.
  17. I don't disagree. At the minute he still appears to have kudos with the fan base so his words are being taken at face value rather than ridiculed. He is a good platform for the club to spin their narrative. I doubt we will start seeing the frustration in interviews we saw from the previous managers. I really hope I'm wrong because in the past 10 years we've always felt like there has been some good fighting a lost cause within the club and usually it has been the manager.
  18. Sell your best players. Re-invest the bare minimum in cheap Euro fodder. Eustace surprisingly had us solid and over-performing last year until injuries hit and the squad depth was shown up. Despite being in the top 5 we refused to invest anything proper in January (although the club said investment was 'significant') which saw us fall away. We also refused to discuss contracts all year with key players whose current deals were expiring in July 2026. Frustrated, and recognising it could only go one way, Eustace walked. Ismael came in. We plummeted, then rallied. Now we are selling the players who only have 1 year left and re-investing in more cheap Euro-fodder, so the squad is weaker again. A major struggle looks to be on the cards. Add in owners that now only send the bare minimum to keep us afloat (possibly due to an ongoing Indian court case which is clear as mud, which may or may not be the reason why we couldn't look at extending any contracts), everyone can clearly see we are running out of golden geese to sell, so where do we go from here? Even if we stop up, when the remaining out of contract players walk next summer and the taps remain turned off, it will be a grim situation - at the very least on the pitch. It's like we are now hitting a new period in Venky-run decline and it's happening in slow motion.
  19. He didn't start a game after Mid-March and made fleeting substitute appearances. He'd gone off the boil and been dropped long before the season ended.
  20. I can't help thinking Ismael is in on this. I think when he took the job he knew they would spend minimal and have to buy cheapies or promote from the academy. They needed a manager who would accept such a scenario, and he need a route back into football at a decent level.
  21. "Let's talk about a new contract " "Ok , I want no less than £300k a week" "Fuck off" Is probably how that went.
  22. Not sure if that’s meant to portray some kind of balance. Newcastle committed to pay Isak £6mill a year for the next 6 years when he signed, even if he turned out to be a flop. If rumours are correct he now wants £15mill a year then I wouldn’t negotiate either.
  23. I'm surprised at the odds for this one. Regardless of the doom and gloom, I expected us to be evens or a shade odds on. As it stands we are only just favourites. Rovers 6/4 Bradford 13/8 Draw 12/5
