  1. Morris has started well. Proven Championship striker. 3 goals in 3. Moves us into the relegation zone.
  2. Was that before or after we signed someone on loan?
  3. Every season the majority predict we will finish midtable somewhere and only the most deluded cuckoo-heads predict we will be top 6. The majority have always been right.
  4. I said in April an ex-player told me the senior players were all pissed off with Waggot and Pasha for the lack of ambition, the way they run the club and with Eustace leaving. Looks what has happened with the senior players since. It’s not their close relationship with Eustace. It’s the lack of any relationships at Ewood. They no longer like the working environment,
  5. No he wasn’t. Made his debut February 2024.
  6. I’m not so much worried about him being ready, as opposed to whether someone who has spent the majority of their career in the Italian pub leagues is anywhere near as good.
  7. So why did clubs spend 2 billion in summer but only 90million in January. Why didn’t they just all go out and buy their targets in January? How many England under 21 caps did Alex Scott have when he moved to Bournemouth in the summer before for almost £30 million?
  8. IT - WAS - JANUARY. Go research the top 10 fees paid by teams in the Prem in Jan 2024. Then look at the top 10 fees paid that summer. Premier League clubs spent just £96.2m on new signings during the January 2024 window - the lowest winter spending in three years, with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) slashing clubs' spending power. In the summer practically every club bought at least 2 players for over £10mill. Some were buying multiple players over £20million. Premier League clubs splashed £2.08bn on new signings during the summer window - not quite hitting the record-breaking £2.44bn spent last year. £96.2mill in Jan. £2.08bn in summer. Still think we wouldn’t have got much more?
  9. As I said above, it’s because they fire-sold him at a relatively short notice in January. At that moment in time only Palace were looking, so we had no negotiating power and had to sell him. As much as Prem clubs can throw money around, most won’t throw £30mill around unplanned, and some would already have spent. Plus look at the trouble the likes of Newcastle and Villa are having with PSR. Everyone knew you would have more interest, more bidders and thus a higher fee in July. But we don’t think more than the next bill we have to pay in front.
  10. More stupidity to call out. That’s because we suddenly had to sell for cash flow issues at short notice in a January market. Otherwise why would we have sold when in contention for play offs? If they had hung on until summer they’d have had more bidders and got more. Or been promoted.
  11. Exactly. Give him the money we allegedly paid per week for Dennis.
  12. Like every club in this league for a few years, if the owners don’t put any money in we’d be screwed full stop. So they have to put money in. They just choose not to put as much in as 3 years ago. Maybe it’s their choice. Maybe Suhail tells them not to. But regardless we, as Blackburn Rovers, could match the offer and stay within the budget we were working to a couple of years ago. We choose not to. 12 months ago we were trying to keep Szmodics (apparently). What were we offering. Magic beans?
  13. We can match it. We choose not to. That’s a choice FFS. People don’t half post some shit.
  14. You mean like Dolan, Britain and Tronstad all congratulating Batth turning down a new contract here and announcing he'd signed for Derby.
  15. It also got picked up and shared by one of the national football social media groups on Facebook yesterday, which is possibly why Rovers only commented yesterday.
  16. Millers face is the giveaway for me. No arguing. Looks like he knows there has been contact.
  17. I think it was McLaughlin, hence why he got booked, and to be fair he does take the man out but the loose ball is picked up by another Birmingham player.
  18. Does anyone have the Granada tribute programme which was shown after Jack died. It used to be on YouTube in 3 parts in low quality, but it got pulled due to copyright on Sarah Brightman’s “Time to say Goodbye” at the end.
  19. If we’d have won it 1-0 I’d have said foot solid performance the kind which we are going to have to put in as we won’t score a lot of goals. Defensively and shape-wise we were solid. The problem is we got undone due to lack of quality / depth, which is something we are going to have to get used to because some of these lads are going to struggle at this level. As I said earlier, Travis is first choice midfield. If we are to ‘replace him’ as Val said, then it needs to be someone who is also first choice starter. That’s replacing him. Not ending up with another backup squad player.
  20. Yeah I know. It had me confused for about 10 minutes at the start.
  21. Fair summary, except I presume you mean McLaughlin. Wharton only came on at the end.
  22. What if he had spent nearly 12 months unemployed and not been able to get a job. Then was told he could have a 3.5 year contract at a Championship club in transition, who would have to lose key players this summer to cut the wage budget and would be relying on academy and cheap signings. Having seen the club was still in the top 6 he may have thought he could still do a decent job at it. Surely he knows what’s happened to the previous managers.
  23. Why isn’t he saying I hope we bring more quality in, rather than saying we need just 1 more player, plus replacements if any leave. Because he’s working to a script.
  24. You see that’s where I struggle. Im not 100% certain he didn’t know.
  25. Senior player. Probably not happy Eustace left. Decent wage.
