  1. He hardly flies under the radar when you see the transfer fees quoted, but I think he’s an excellent at this level and surprised they’ve kept him for three Championship seasons without someone praising him away.
  2. I presume that the Chelsea / Fulham game is therefore not being shown on that pixelated big screen at the BBE fanzone? Can anyone confirm?
  3. Who the hell thinks Cadamarteri’s dad was an excellent player? Andri Gudjohnsen’s record however is good in its own right.
  4. Of course I realised Leonard was part of the conversation. Rev says it’s unfair that a poster is saying about Leonard being “Clearly not being able to cope with the Championship” as though the posters have witnessed that as fact whilst he has been a Rovers player. Revs argument is you can’t say he clearly isn’t as he hasn’t started that many games. I’ve not really seen anyone saying that about the new signings as they haven’t seen them (clearly not good enough). Just opinions on whether they will be a success based on their track records/ career paths at other clubs. There’s a difference. FWIW I’m not too fussed about offloading him if a replacement is incoming, and I never thought we’d get a mill for him.
  5. Yes. The club sign players. People form an opinion on whether you think they will be good signings (Morishita) or bad (De Neve). Whether they are correct or incorrect will be judged after a period of time after they’ve settled in and played (or not) for the club. Some people weirdly think that players should be perceived as being “good” until proven otherwise. And if people say they aren’t good signings they are ‘writing them off’, like it’s some unfair crime.
  6. Maybe. But at least its ‘exciting’, as if he reproduces it he should be a success. I don’t get that vibe from most of the others.
  7. Leonard is like most of them. If he goes and we bring in a better replacement great. But if we bring in another Telalovic it’s pointless. All depends on who comes in. The signing of Morishita, who looks a level or two above most we have brought in for the last few years, gives me faint hope that somehow we bring in a quality striker. But we should aim for him to be first choice, not some third choice squad replacement.
  8. Celtic have won 3 from 3 and haven’t conceded yet. There’s no domestic turmoil for them. Russel Martin on the other hand ……
  9. Yeah. Like they obviously think there is better entertainment out there pre-game for the blues bar TV’s than Sky Sports.
  10. Having cut costs on things like players travel budgets, ground maintenance and Sky sports in the blues bar, Suhail now takes his financial hatchet to the players wage bill. This despite the current manager saying he wants to keep the players. And people are thinking it’s some kind of cunning footballing change? Looking for a different mentality of player? Bloody hell, half the people we bring in have just been relegated.
  11. Yeah apologies. For some reason when I checked the pre-season odds I looked at Wrexham and not Birmingham. (Newly promoted, hype, yanks etc...). Both West Brom and Wrexham were 7/1 pre-season. The next question is why the hell are Birmingham second favourites? I didnt even consider them pre-season and saw nothing at Ewood to change my mind.
  12. I’d hardly call two sides that were 7/1 to go up as ‘promotion favourites’. And this ‘different referee’ myth is snowballing. A different ref sends Henriksson off for two early yellow. Yes we should have equalised with a penalty at the end of the half, but we created nothing in that game otherwise. Against Birmingham we threw it away due to lack of quality for both of their goals. De Neve getting skinned for the penalty and a poor corner. Hull was a massive moral boost but we are still 3 losses from 4. I’d like to see how we do on Saturday before I start believing we are going to be ok this season and can look at the top half rather than the bottom half. Morishita looks a cracking signing mind you.
  13. He's gone in at force and he's out of control, proven by the fact he has actually 'tried' to pull out of it but is so out of control that he can't and has still ended up raking him down the calf.
  14. Stupid challenge. Would have liked that half to carry on for another 10 minutes there as that would have really boiled over.
  15. Before the dawn the darkest hour.
  16. Exactly this. His Pep-ball reputation sees him get further than he should do. He finished 19th and 13th in league one with MK Dons. He took over a Swansea side that had finished In the play offs twice and led them to 15th and 10th. Somehow he got the Southampton job. Despite the parachute payments he finished 4th but won the Russian Roulette of the play-offs. In the Premier League they got 12 points, losing 30 out of 38 games. On what grounds did the Rangers board think he was a good appointment? If he turned up here I’d be furious with that record. Absolute charlatan..
  17. He’s very two-footed. Seem very comfortable on both sides.
  18. Don’t know. Depends if you think we would have lost 3 out of 4 games, including getting dumped out of the cup off a league one side, with them. Maybe Baath would have defended that West Brom throw. Maybe Weimann would have scored against Bradford. Not sure anyone can look at our results and say we haven’t missed them.
  19. Proved right about what? That he could get an upward move than Rovers if he left on a free? That was obvious. I don’t think anyone was saying he would be a top Prem or La Liga player. He’s done better than the vast majority expected (with regards to his move) so people are curious to see how he gets on.
