Sunderland are perennial losers with an owner that isn't interested and a dwindling fan base. The only thing they have over us is a bigger stadium which actually i'd argue isn't a positive when it will be 20% full most weeks.

As of a day or two ago,  Sunderland have a new owner, and as you must have missed in my post, I said if they are top of the league they

will have massive crowds for league 1, I reckon well in excess of 30,000 probably even in the 40k's towards the end of the season.

They'll all be back to watch a winning team, they've forgotten what it's like to do that up there and it's a football mad city.

Why would anyone think Mowbray would even be remotely interested in going to Sunderland? He's spent the last 3 years of his managerial career trying to get out of League One.

If Sunderland are appointing someone like Jack Ross coupled with getting rid of Coleman purely to save on overheads it tells me that perhaps they aren't as flush as some people seem to think they are.

He'd be a lot closer to home and the crowds would be massive for League 1, if he had them at the top all season.

I think if I was him, I'd definitely be interested.

Anyway doesn't matter if they've already got Ross.

Risky IMO. Someone with experience in league 1 would be a better option I reckon.

Ross is basically going from a safe number, where he did well, to managing the equivalent of the Celtic of League 1

Well if it's true, at least we hang on to TM, who probably would have been a better option.

    No news then

Rather strange we haven't heard from Tony Mowbray since he got back(unless I've missed something), I did wonder if he is about

to be announced as the new manager at Sunderland.

Their new owner was on Talksport at lunchtime, he has the new guy all signed up on a 2 year deal apparently, they were throwing all sorts of names

at him but he kept saying ' no not him' , TM'S name was not mentioned for him to deny though.

Probably not Mowbray but, they will be wanting to get out of League 1 at the first time of asking, so who knows ?

We'll know pretty soon I guess.

  5. Mowbray's record isn't bad :

    PL 15    W5  D7  L3   PTS  22

    Taken over a season 67 points = top 10

    Last 5 games W3 D2

And I must say I'd rather listen to his interviews than most of the other bullshiners we've had under this bunch of shysters, wouldn't be at all

surprised though if he resigns as soon as they let him know what he'll have to work with next season.

Be careful a newbie on here coming up with a post like that..:o

But in honesty it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest neither would it surprise me if Kean still had shares or something in the club seeing as he's been hiding out in Brunei where amazingly Cresendo are based. Break the club down into a fragment of itself then bring him back to relaunch himself in the face of hardly any opposition . Would not put it past those who really run this club, by rights it should kill what's left stone dead overnight but there'll still be a couple of thousand sat there saying give him another chance.......

I had the idea he went to work for the Brunei royal family for safety reasons (royal bodyguards and all that) because the GG's might not have

been very happy with the way he walked out on the job.

  7. A couple of wins in the league and we can start to breathe more easily. A couple of defeats though...

    February's schedule:

    Boro (A) Loss

    Hull (H) Draw

    Fulham (H) Win

    Ipswich (A) Draw

    Derby (A) Loss

    MK Dons (H) Win

Our new recruits need to gel quickly and prove that today wasn't a one-off against lower league opposition.

  8. Bowyer doesn't lose 3 games on the bounce, that could keep us up.

Appointing a less experienced, cheap alternative would be worse if he can't get to grip with things quickly and start winning games with this poor squad we've assembled. With less experience he's going to struggle.

    12 days in march 2014 :

    Bolton 4 Rovers 0

    Rovers 1 Burnley 2

    Rovers 0 B/Mouth 1

  9. Saints U21's manager Martin Hunter said - " they(Blackburn) were direct to say the least and very aggressive."

Att. 995. Saints have so far, sold over 2,000 tickets for the 2nd leg.

Could Eric Kinder be the new Big Sam ?

To be fair to the young lads, Saints team included a few with first team experience.
