Sunderland are perennial losers with an owner that isn't interested and a dwindling fan base. The only thing they have over us is a bigger stadium which actually i'd argue isn't a positive when it will be 20% full most weeks.
As of a day or two ago, Sunderland have a new owner, and as you must have missed in my post, I said if they are top of the league they
will have massive crowds for league 1, I reckon well in excess of 30,000 probably even in the 40k's towards the end of the season.
They'll all be back to watch a winning team, they've forgotten what it's like to do that up there and it's a football mad city.

St Mirren's chairman has said that there has been no contact with Sunderland.
He said " Jack's on holiday, so unless there is some major skulduggery going on, it's all nonsense".
Oh dear, is the new owner already up to no good ?

Why would anyone think Mowbray would even be remotely interested in going to Sunderland? He's spent the last 3 years of his managerial career trying to get out of League One.
If Sunderland are appointing someone like Jack Ross coupled with getting rid of Coleman purely to save on overheads it tells me that perhaps they aren't as flush as some people seem to think they are.
He'd be a lot closer to home and the crowds would be massive for League 1, if he had them at the top all season.
I think if I was him, I'd definitely be interested.
Anyway doesn't matter if they've already got Ross.

Risky IMO. Someone with experience in league 1 would be a better option I reckon.
Ross is basically going from a safe number, where he did well, to managing the equivalent of the Celtic of League 1
Well if it's true, at least we hang on to TM, who probably would have been a better option.

No news then
Rather strange we haven't heard from Tony Mowbray since he got back(unless I've missed something), I did wonder if he is about
to be announced as the new manager at Sunderland.
Their new owner was on Talksport at lunchtime, he has the new guy all signed up on a 2 year deal apparently, they were throwing all sorts of names
at him but he kept saying ' no not him' , TM'S name was not mentioned for him to deny though.
Probably not Mowbray but, they will be wanting to get out of League 1 at the first time of asking, so who knows ?
We'll know pretty soon I guess.

Bradford did have a player sent off on 61 mins, I think that will be the toughest game when we play them at
their place the following Saturday, in front of 20,000+ yorkies.
-
Att; 5372( 620 away)
Not bad travelling support considering Saturday's shambles.

Didn't sound like that.
He also said on Sky he expects backing.
Sounds like he needs to have a word with Paul Lambert on that subject.
-
TM will know all about our illustrious history and he will not want to be the first manager to take us to the 4th division, that's why he'll
resign if he doesn't get the backing he needs.
Will he be given it ?
Not a chance IMO.

Mowbray's record isn't bad :
PL 15 W5 D7 L3 PTS 22
Taken over a season 67 points = top 10
Last 5 games W3 D2
And I must say I'd rather listen to his interviews than most of the other bullshiners we've had under this bunch of shysters, wouldn't be at all
surprised though if he resigns as soon as they let him know what he'll have to work with next season.

As an aside, it was Mowbray who brought Steele through at Boro.
And had Emnes playing very well too apparently, maybe he'll get to start regularly now.

Be careful a newbie on here coming up with a post like that..
But in honesty it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest neither would it surprise me if Kean still had shares or something in the club seeing as he's been hiding out in Brunei where amazingly Cresendo are based. Break the club down into a fragment of itself then bring him back to relaunch himself in the face of hardly any opposition . Would not put it past those who really run this club, by rights it should kill what's left stone dead overnight but there'll still be a couple of thousand sat there saying give him another chance.......
I had the idea he went to work for the Brunei royal family for safety reasons (royal bodyguards and all that) because the GG's might not have
been very happy with the way he walked out on the job.

Nigel Clough interested in talking to Forest, just announced on BBC, maybe Burton will be looking for a new manager soon.
If I was him I'd stay at Burton, Forest owners are nut jobs.
-
Wonder if they have considered how empty the Owner and Directors boxes will look from the new camera angle, suppose they could get lookalikes to stand in.
They seem to be happy with ST sales, up 144 % on last year, new family stand, 255 sold as opposed to 5 last yr, according to Rovers website.
Quite pleased with themselves.

A couple of wins in the league and we can start to breathe more easily. A couple of defeats though...
February's schedule:
Boro (A) Loss
Hull (H) Draw
Fulham (H) Win
Ipswich (A) Draw
Derby (A) Loss
MK Dons (H) Win
Our new recruits need to gel quickly and prove that today wasn't a one-off against lower league opposition.

Good result for the lads in FA Youth Cup tonight, beat Leicester 3-2 aet, who's the lad Costello ?
Scored 2, sounds like the lad is not afraid to run at defenders.
Villa away next.

Once in 2 1/2 yrs
Not a bad record really is it WYR
Well, after those 3 shockers, we did go on a 12 match unbeaten run, but typical of Bowyer 6 of them were draws, so no play-offs.
-
Bowyer doesn't lose 3 games on the bounce, that could keep us up.
Appointing a less experienced, cheap alternative would be worse if he can't get to grip with things quickly and start winning games with this poor squad we've assembled. With less experience he's going to struggle.

GB looks like he's nodding off
Isn't he giving them a pep talk ?
-
He might have been calling the coach from Soton a pillock
My apologies to Bazza if that was the case.
-
What did he expect us to do? Lie down and let them steamroller us? Pillock!
Don't shoot the messenger, @#/? !

Saints U21's manager Martin Hunter said - " they(Blackburn) were direct to say the least and very aggressive."
Att. 995. Saints have so far, sold over 2,000 tickets for the 2nd leg.
Could Eric Kinder be the new Big Sam ?
To be fair to the young lads, Saints team included a few with first team experience.
-
Bowyer might feel a bit of pressure if the U 21's win the cup.
Has GB ever won anything ?
" Eric Kinder's blue and white army "
