Twats like Taylor aren't in the real world. He doesn't realise that the long term damage will be irreparable to many of his members and his comments will turn more away from football as we see families desperately struggling in the current situation.

I sincerely hope that when football eventually returns it will signal the start of a sanitisation of what has become an ogre.

Forget struggling, how many family members are going to die!

Which fans are going to be turning out to cheer on their "heroes", after Auntie Ethel has suffered a painful death. All whilst these greedy twats have been sat in their mansions counting up the pennies like Scrooge McDuck.

It should be very easy to sort for me. Just set some parameters and blanket apply them:

Example- everyone in the top 2 leagues who earns over 10k per week to take an immediate 50% pay cut for 3 months. The money to be used to support non playing staff, the lower league clubs, and local charities/initiatives.

Then review it after 3 months.

If you're on half a million pound a year, you can afford it.

Turn a negative into a positive.

Hope something like this comes out on Friday.

Anything short of that could do irreparable damage as you've said.

Football "community" my arse. Feels more like us and them.

  2. My God, the World really is coming to end.

Page 7 of the Bristol City thread and I've got a Chief Scientific Advisor, a chadbot,  and ......fucking Donald Trump!

Now, as much as some of us are losing confidence in certain players in the squad, I'm not convinced either of those 3 are adequate replacements. (Altho I'm willing to consider arguments for BB ?)

Have all the mods got coronavirus already?! ?

Bristol, Wigan and Barnsley are teams we should win.

Bristol City we've beaten 1 in last 6 attempts.

Wigan we've beaten 1 in last 5 attempts.

Barnsley we've beaten 1 in last 4 attempts.

Out of 15 matches against that opposition we've won 3 times. (20% wins)

Bear in mind 2 of the matches are away, and Wigan are currently 3rd in the form table and unbeaten in 6.

Suddenly, your confidence starts to look misplaced.  Although I would love you to be proved right.

I'm not making it up though. On one of those instances where whoever was on duty insisted my post had not been deleted, it was up there in full as a quote from another poster!

Yet it didn't appear anywhere as my post!

Gremlins in the system are bad enough but I feel I've got one of my own!!

    I remember that. Don't worry, I don't think you're losing your mind...........yet! ?

But DE's right, there's nothing getting hidden from you on both occasions, we will always say if we have.

You just seem pretty unlucky with glitches. You been kicking black cats?!

  5. "Success" and "failure" are such absolute words to use in the Championship.

Yes, we all know promotion is the aim of pretty much every club in the league. But using those words as barometers, you would have 3 successful managers each season and 21 "failures" every year.

Seems harsh to call 21 managers failures after being in what many argue is the most competitive league in the World, top to bottom.

I know one thing, if we do have some money to spend in the summer, conversations with potential players should be much easier having finished in the Top 8 than they would have been last year after finishing 15th.

Players want to join clubs they think are going somewhere and have a chance of success.

Also, (barring spawny gits Huddersfield),  very few clubs suddenly fire themselves up from the bottom half of the Championship to promotion. Most do it by having 2 or 3 seasons up there in the mix ( oh yes, I went there ?) and then eventually make the leap.

If this is the 1st of our spell of seasons up there competing, I'll take it for now. Bearing in mind the last time we even finished top half of the table was 5 years ago, and we finished that season a massive 11 pts behind 6th. Not like we've been knocking on the door recently.

That is true, but it would be a similar fight time in Britain....

Also, not to mention the regime being rotten,  again it’s no good for the fans that get to be there, imagine watching boxing with no booze....

Totally agree, crap for the fans going. And UK would be sensible option, 2 British belt holders and all that.

But now the middle middle east has their claws in Hearn, I can't see many big fights at Heavyweight happening here.

It'll be Saudi for the blood money or Vegas......cos it's Vegas.

I'm not a fight going fan, never been to a bout, more an armchair fan.

So it's Saudi for me all day long I'm ashamed to say, merely for convenience to my lifestyle.

On another note my pal from work did go on Saturday. What a great time he had. Came back with a signed glove and picture with Tyson.........Mike that is.

I think Fury would beat Joshua fairly easily tbh.
Hopefully Eddie Hearn makes it happen next summer (the earliest I can see it realistically happening) on these shores rather than Vegas, so everyone doesn’t have to get up super early/stay up super late.

If it goes ahead it will definitely be Saudi.

And whilst I understand people's issue with supporting such a regime, for purely selfish reasons,  it will be great to have a big bout on about 10pm on a Sat night. We're starved of it over here.

  8. Don't know how anyone thinks ours wasn't a pen.

If it had just been the body check then fair enough,  that's momentum and a clash.

But he grabs him round the neck and hauls him down. You touch attackers by the head that aggressively and it's a stonewall pen every time.

Theirs was the usual joke decision against us.

Draw fair result though. We were lucky they didn't score another from open play.

Meanwhile my brother watched his team fumble their way to a 0-0 draw against AFC Wimbledon. The promotion certs led by the genius of a manager who thought he was too good for this place may not even get them in the play offs. Never mind, he has a five year contract. ?

Wow, just looked, didn't realise they were even out the playoff places.

Good old Lambert sprinkling his magic pixie dust.

When was this magical hour that I see mentioned every now and then?!

Looking back, I can only find us in the top 6 of this league twice since relegation in 2012.

22/08/12 - 06/10/12 Just after relegation, we bounced around in the play off positions for around 6 weeks or so, even spending a week at the top of the table.

22/11/14 - 06/12/14 Two weeks spent in 6th place after a 10 game unbeaten run, we then lost 2-1 to Sheff Wed at Ewood and never got anywhere near again.

    20th October 2018.

We were the early kick off, 12pm against Leeds. Won 2-1.

There were 3 or 4 teams that could overtake us in the 3pm's.

Most of them failed, but Norwich won with an 84th min goal, so what's that? -about 4.40pm. We were in 6th place for appox 3 hours.

They went 6th, we dropped to 7th never to be seen again. Norwich went on to win the league, we finished 15th.

Why not open a thread about Bowyer team vs Mowbray team then if you want to discuss that?

We should be discussing the match in the match day thread?

    Chaddy, please knock it off.

Match threads a day before a match are very much about team selection.

    Thus, the comparisons are relevant.

We can't open a new thread for every little tangent.

If you don't like the direction the conversation is going, then feel free to remove yourself from it.

Cometh the hour! It's almost that time again - staying up until stupid o'clock in the morning and then taking the 'Monday hit'. Chiefs v 49ers it is.

    ? BRING IT!?

    I'm with you!

Opening up at work Monday morning too so have to be in at 8am.

Godamnit, why didn't I book the day off?!

Looks set up for a real even game,  that should go down to the last quarter.

Enjoy. I hope Mahomes takes the trophy. Been the best QB throughout the season. And will be for years to come IMO.

Its not about tonight, its a permanent feature of the Board these days. Posts just disappear.

Its about the glaring inconsistencies from over-active Mods.

Back to topic, I'm as annoyed as anyone else that we are not progressing as we ought.

Ooops, was just trying to lighten the mood. Can we park it for another time.

In terms of transfers, nobody can call us spoilt or overreacting, entitled fans.

This isn't just one window, it's pretty much 3 on the bounce with empty promises, false hope, and incompetent actions.

And most importantly, a complete failure to even partially address the glaringly obvious deficiencies in the match day team.

We've got every right to be thoroughly pissed off.
