  1. Always disappointing to lose.

    But 3-2 ain't a disaster.

Gotta remember we were away to a team that will be top end of table come end of the season.

Some winnable games coming up. Our push up the table might hinge on what kind of shape Corry Evans comes back from international duty in.

The robotic Joshua has been clinically and embarrassingly exposed,

Did you watch the Sky Sports special Sat night - Joshua The Untold Truth?

He doesn't seem right. Can't put my finger on it but something's amiss.

    Seems disillusioned and confused.

Be interesting to see where his story goes from here.

Both Kovalev and Yarde sound very confident. Rumours of Kovalev partying and drinking a lot, but he is still a far better level of opponent than Yarde has ever faced. Tough gig away from home. I watched Ward v Kovalev 1 again last night. That version of Kovalev is a real handful.

Cambell has weight and reach advantages on Lomachenko. Two former Olympians. Loma is obviously the big favourite, but Campbell is far better than most give him credit for and is very skilled technically. It will be a good achievement for Campbell win or lose, if the fight goes all the way.

Yeah, suppose it depends which version of Kovalev this is. Is he over the hill and on the way down? Anyway, great that I can watch a good bout for free, sick to death of this payperview crap.

I'm one of those that just doesn't rate Campbell I'm afraid. But just like the Mowbray discussion, I really hope I'm wrong. Seems like a real good lad, and would be amazing if he could get a positive result of some sort.

    I'd disagree after 6 games.

Around about October time you get a better picture as of the layout of the league, with a few exceptions where bad/good form strikes or managerial changes (Villa, Brentford)

If we lose to Cardiff and Baggies I certainly wouldn't be considering us relegation candidates.

To be fair to you, I've had a look at the stats and it's not as bad as I thought. Think I'm maybe going off the Prem stats of 1pt per game. God knows why as it's an eternity since we were there.

In the last 3 Champ seasons 6pts after 6 games would have us 17th, 18th, and 16th.

So, yeah, I suppose that's not panic stations in terms of relegation.

But it would also mean we were 2 pts, 2 pts, and 3 pts off the relegation spots.

I certainly wouldn't be happy being potentially one loss off being in the bottom 3.

But, I guess it could be argued with the fixture list at the start of our campaign, that would be a false position.

Is it? I swear Norwich were towards the bottom end of the table this time last year.

Far too early for those kind of calls

Obviously fixture lists distort things etc, but yes, 1 point per game is relegation standard no?

Or it certainly puts you in that area of the table and under threat.

But it was meant to be a really hard start to the season, now it's changed ?

Hasn't changed for me. Still a really hard start.

And lose to Cardiff and West Brom and it's 6 pts from 6 games.  That's relegation form.

Obviously,  win those 2 and it's promotion from.

So, I'm chuffed to bits with the last few results. But,  we've still a lot to prove.

Here's hoping the lads and TM do prove some of us wrong.

Looking forward to Luke Campbell and Anthony Yarde fights coming up. Glad BJS has signed with Hearn, loads of big fights on his platforms for middle-weights.

    Looking forward to them too.

Really hope Yarde can do it. To beat Kovelev in his own back yard, would really announce him on the World stage.

Campbell is going to get eaten for breakfast unfortunately. Way out his depth I reckon. Fair play to him for taking Loma on though. No one can say he doesn't the cahones.

Clueless given the money, talent, crowds, TV viewings all point to championship being vastly superior. No wonder West ham struggle with her as part of the team.

That's the thing Norbert, her own club has been there recently, so she can't claim ignorance. And this is someone who has worked in football for decades and should surely know her onions. I'm genuinely mystified by those comments.

If you use recent player movements. Jack Harrison was a star in the MLS for Viera's New York FC. He's since struggled to make a big impact for 2 Championship clubs (although I think he will come good,  only 22).

Conversely, Johnny Russell was a decent Champ player for Derby for years. He's gone over to Sporting Kansas and smashed it. Scoring 18 goals in 49 games, winning MLS goal of the week, and MLS player of the week.

Yep, sounds like he's jumped 3 levels in standard.

I can only assume she was drinking heavily the day she wrote that column.

  9. Mowbray has always appeared to think he's Mourinho. I used to doubt that, but he's turned me, and I'm inclined to agree with him now:

•Arrogantly getting angry when being asked perfectly reasonable questions by the press.

•Reports of training ground bustups with players.

•Shipping goals left,  right, and centre.

•Failing to score goals and show any attacking flair, despite having players on the books that certainly have that in their locker.

•Steadfastly refusing to acknowledge the poor run of form the team has been on for a prolonged period of time, and attempting some Jedi mindtrick to pretend like it isn't happening.

•Setting the team up with baffling match day tactics,  and then trying to rescue the situation with even more bewildering substitutions.

All he needs to do is start jabbing his thumb in the opposing coaches eye socket next match, and the journey is complete.

Pair of them are dinosoars from a long forgotten era. They need to jog on and play on an island with Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum!

Mowbray saying it was down to gametime. He told charlie his game time would be limited and charlie wanted to play so it suited both parties

The Wigan fans I've seen online are pretty adamant he will be their 4th in line back up CB.

Which kind of smashes that theory.

They may be wrong,  but at this point I've got to take their word. They know the Wigan team better than me.

Will be interesting to see over the next month or two how much game time he gets.

I’d be straight on the blower to Jack Rodwell.

The re-signing of Rodwell would actually seem quite logical and sensible considering the madness of this window

I get the theory that he's fairly good as a cover player in the squad, but is he really the type of character we need around the club?

People talk of footballers needing a rest.  The likes of Harry Kane etc have played football pretty much constantly for 2 years now with the World Cup and Nations League.

Rodwell has had about 3 of the last 4 years on holiday. He should be the freshest footballer in all 4 divisions.

And at his age at the last chance saloon, should have had himself in pre-season training from the start of July.

But no, he pissed off the other side of the World on a jolly instead.

Tells me all I need to know.

No thank you Jack. Take your bags of money and ride off into sunset. I don't think professional sport is for you.

Maybe a few rounds of golf with Gareth Bale is more up your street.

Because his wage is split 50/50 between coaching and playing. It’s a way to avoid FFP. They did the same with Ashley Cole.

Even worse than that, stories coming out tonight that it's being funded by their betting company sponsor.

Rooney will be wearing the no. 32 shirt, to advertise gambling website 32red.

This deal is starting to stink a bit. It seems like it's basically 3rd party ownership.

  13. Personally don't think we're doing too bad in the international sports arena.

    Semi final World Cup football.

    Semi final Nations League football.

    Winners World Cup Cricket.

I think we'll compete well in the Rugby World Cup. Hopefully, semi or final.

If the Aussies do us over in the Ashes I ain't gonna cry too much. Of course I'd love to beat them, but just don't see it happening. Steve Smith is the best Test player in the World and can basically beat us on his own.

At this point, I'll be happy to avoid a 4/5 nil pasting. Yeah, yeah losers mentality I know,  but you gotta call it as you see it. If we merely compete in the Ashes we've probably overperformed.

The mere fact there’s a thread being posted in under this name is somewhat embarrassing from my perspective. Equally - if the thread was titled differently, it would mean something significantly different. There may be only a handful wanting an immediate sacking, but it’s still a handful of people (in my opinion) showing a completely over reactionary, vacuous and stupid view point. If that’s hard for some to accept, that’s not my problem Silas!

Ive never once stated the manager shouldn’t be questioned but that’s the typical response for certain people who do not like to see their assumed woes questioned!

Like I said to DE. There are people who seek out the negatives. It’s no coincidence many examples of that sort of poster will gladly jump on the reactionary “Mowbray out” bandwagon.

Its obvious to me, generally fans are far more balanced than this example.

You're not a fan of the Mowbray Out thread, I see that.

No-ones forcing you to be in it.

You're welcome to start a positive, Mowbray In thread where some of the good things about the club can be discussed. The promising young players we have, Bradley Johnson's debut etc

I would suggest any opinion that believes TM should be sacked ASAP, has no real understanding of football.

Although this thread is called "Mowbray Out", it's hardly full of people claiming TM should be immediately sacked is it?

It's full of people voicing concerns about the manager, often long held concerns, not just about 1 game of football,  but about a a whole load of different areas of the club - recruitment, team sheets, tactics, substitutions etc etc

I think most people would accept maybe 10 games or so would probably be a sensible scale to measure this season and the manager.

But this thread now exists to continue that ongoing assessment as those games progress.

And looking at our fixture list, our squad list, and TM's insistence on doing exactly the same thing week in, week out - I would expect this thread to get very busy over the next few months.

I hope I'm wrong though. As I'm sure do most Rovers fans.
