  1. Quite looking forward to Wednesday's game. Since Walter Smith took over there's been a wave of optimism and having watched the Scot-Italy game, we're playing much much better, and a draw against the Italians is pretty darn good. I reckon we'd have got stuffed if the German numpty was still in charge. Although I don't think we'll qualify this time, left things a bit too late, it'll all be about the Euro 2008 qualifers.

  2. Good post, like the SOS reasoning biggrin.gif

As for my prediction, could be a tight game and Rovers will definitely have their hands full with Baros and Phillips upfront. Our confidence will be much higher thanks to the Fulham result so hopeful of a better game from us, especially if Tugay plays and Pederson keep sto form. Either a draw or we'll nick it with another wonder goal!

  3. rover.gif read in a paper sourpuss only wanted top quality players,if he was sacked he did not want to burden the next manager with poor players, tell that to sparky tongue.gif  tinykit.gif

Saying that, it sounds as if he's expecting to get the sack biggrin.gif

  4. Winter's comments below:

Having played under Sir Alex Ferguson, Hughes's man-management skills are inevitably sharp. Evidence of his galvanising traits can be found all over Ewood. Assisted by a good back-room staff, Hughes has turned Andy Todd into an excellent Premiership stopper. Steven Reid imposes himself more consistently. Morten Gamst Pedersen blossoms.

Robbie Savage has been recruited to ensure no one relaxes, friend or foe. Aaron Mokoena and Ryan Nelsen have brought grit and leadership. The late, much-missed Jack Walker would have been thrilled at Blackburn being associated with steel again.

The presence of Mokoena and Savage has seen Rovers labelled "physical". Last season, Mourinho himself complained about Hughes's tactics, yet the Welshman's priority has always been to make Blackburn devilishly difficult to beat. His players work incredibly hard and embarrassed some of Liverpool's stellar names on two occasions last season.

Blackburn are not dirty, just dogged

Now that's the kind of remarks about Rovers I like. Although I reckon you'll never see that kind of reporting in any of the Red Top comics or by most of the TV pundits either. If we play well, without being "dirty" this coming season, and if Wenger, Benitez, RFW & Mourinho don't cry about us, I wonder if we'll shake off that tag of being dirty.

  5. Bloody cheeky Celtic fans, look at this comment at the bottom about the relegation battle!

They keep saying about Bellamy's lack of ambition, (like it's some kind of broken record) but it shows how GREAT Blackburn's ambition is in acquiring a player of Bellamy's talent, and where Hughes wants to go with the club. Relegation battle my arse.

Obviously I want Blackburn to qualify for Europe next year, even moreso if it's to ram it down the throats of the whinging Celtic fans.
