1. Whooooo! Go Shefki!

Aren't strikers supposed to do this? The only danger Kuqi posed when he came on was that towards his own football career.

    374600

sure he's pretty crap, but last season i was saying Stead should play more and Stead has now 0 goals was sold for £1.8 million and Kuqi has 5 goals and cost £0.

so what do we expect for free, he's at least better then Stead, although he looks shocking at times, he has made a small impact.

with a free striker and letting go some un-used players lets hope for a striker, but Hughes is not stupid

  2. i could live with Kuqi being a third/fouth striker on the bench mostly and coming, particularly against the poor teams, i'm still just so shocked at how bad his touch is, its amazing, and i'm sure when he goes for headers he closes his eyes, never know where the ball will go.

a guy with that touch has done extremely well for himself, he obviously makes up for poor quality in effort and determination

  3. Prior to Souness arriving Dunn had handed in a transfer request and Jansen had agreed to join Rangers the following summer, but Souness vetoed the moved when he arrived. Duff was also half the player he turned out to be, so Souness did do this club some good.

in Div 1 Souness had a midfield of

    Duff Dunn Flitcroft and Gilespie.

i think he was given a good squad, not only that i think he built upon this squad with great signings like Berg, Neil, Cole.

I think it all went down hill when Duff went, Jansen got injuried, Dunn got fatter and some bad signings like Amo etc

but for a couple of years from 2000 to 2003, brilliant manager, then it all went wrong

  4. i've not really said anything about Kuqi but that was probably one of the most shocking performances i have ever seen yesterday, I though Diawara (spelt like that) was bad, but wow Kuqi was shocking, worst game by a mile, totally out his class.

Nice bloke though, probably score next week, but thats how i saw it on Monday, sure he's better then that performance.

on the other side of the coin for 33 years old Dickov was very good, very impressed

  5. Was a the match y'day and was of course absoutly delighted with the performance and scoreline against Wigan. However, i would like to comment on something that has been raised on the official board. I was sitting in the right hand third of the away end and on the official board those sitting near to the stand to our left said that the home fans sang 'town full of pakis'. I thought they were singing 'town full of smack heads', but as i mentioned i was on the other side of the stand. Can anybody confirm what was sung?

its a reason why attendance has fallen i think, when my Dad went to see Blackburn play under 20k was not something that happened , but i didn't think it was so well known, i would have not liked to a be an Asian fan there supporting Wigan, rather nasty.

  6. Bently made some good runs!!, is that what it takes to be a striker for Blackburn these days, how about setting up some chances or having a decent shot on goal. I'm not sure how he gets in the team to be honest, he's very wasteful. maybe he was as cold as me

Dickov did well, a shame Hughes put Bently with him as Bently was hardly in the game and poor old Dickov had a bit tooo much to do

I though both team made allot of mistakes and Fulham got a bit lucky

negative: Bentley long way off a good player, better off at Burnley

Positive: probably Dickov, but then he only had one shot at target, everyone else was just worse. Gray, Tugay did ok

  7. yeah that is sad, i think alot of people have a right to dislike him due to the silly things he did.

although i do think alcoholic's are people with a disease and Best tried very hard in later life to give booze up, so he was a vitcim of his own success.

  8. No.

Don't you think the best player Britain ever produced should be entitled to that?

    363156

actually allot of people think he was a waste of talent, i'm not saying i do, so if he was given a gift, he abused it

i'll remember Best, best for saying on live TV "I like to screw", that kind of sums up his attitude

i have a couple of friends from uni who said they saw him p1ssed out his mind down the local every Wednesday

  9. A myth that I believed in for some time and likely still do.  It's been so long since I've seen him I've forgot.  I still don't think Amo was that bad all round. He came with a bad rap cos of a few huge clangers dropped and we all know that Rovers, unless you are a "chosen one", is no the place to lose that.  That said he can't come close to the ability of what we have now or the confidence they instill in me.

    359984

i had such huge arguements on this board about Amo a couple of years ago, i hated him being in the team, but i have really seen him do some shocking stuff. Best defenders are just rocks at the back, that all they need to be, let the full back have a bit of fair, but CB, simple job, DEFEND, he could not do the simple job very well, but he could hit a free kick sometimes, so looked good inconsistently.

  10. best leave him be, not safe to have him in the team, i honestly think he was one of the reasons that the form of Neil and Gray suffered, look how good they play with quality CB's now, its night and day, happens allot with CB's

but the Amo gave his all so we can't complain, his standard is Scotland

  11. Looking at the fact that almost half of the poll said Bellamy wasn't their first choice, and assuming that the first choice was McCarthy [because he was the only other player in the frame at the time], how many people would honestly swap Bellers for McCarthy now?

One hand - a player who knows the prem inside out and is a superb, proven player, on the other hand - a player who is not proven at prem level?

    C'mon, anyone still swap?

    356199

well for all we know McCarthy might have ten goals by now and not get injuried every other week, so would love to have both considering Dickov and Kuqi look really shocking sometimes.

Bellamy looks quality though, lets hope he can stay fit and judge him over a season not 50 minutes of football
