At the Charlton game I queued for 25 minutes in the fanzone tent to get a beer.

At the Middlesbrough game I noticed several mini dispensers of Fosters all around the Blackburn End manned by two people at each one. That, to me, was a great initiative. Those just wanting Fosters wouldn't have to queue. And the main queue for other things would be greatly reduced.

I genuinely can't believe it. A positive comment.

  2. It's very pleasing to see every signing made is an upgrade. Think Tony has done very well.

Although I have reservations playing Gallagher and arma as wingers. Weakest area is Bennett at right back but he is the captain and won't be dropped.

I can't see how Bennett gets onto the team if nyambe cones in. Let's kick on and get a few more bums on seats at ewood. Very pleasing week

  3. Stopped reading after the first page. Absolute shocker of a thread backed up by the modern day instant gratification whinny fans that epitomizes modern day society.

It's embarrassing seeing a less than half full ewood then reading the same over the top fans on here who think we are a big club.

Won't pay beer money but expect champagne.

Gutted that Joe has had to go. Fully blame Mowbray for holding him back and not helping him to develop. I can’t help think that when Nuttall was dumped out of the side for Samuel (Mowbray’s own man) last season and unfairly - at that time - dropped back to the U23s that it upset Joe and their relationship didn’t recover. Mowbray then went an brought in a more Mowbray-like signing in Brereton and that was the beginning of the end. Even last season, Nuttall showed that he had more about him that Brereton and yet Mowbray again has persevered with ‘his own man’.

Mowbray is a very poor man-manager IMO. In my view he leaves all of that to the senior players (“the group”) and just looks at trying to keep them happy while rotating the fringe players around. He’s a soft touch and he may talk big at times but he doesn’t follow through with his actions - we’ve gone from “defenders are coming” to it appearing that was all the keepers fault. At least the group are happy again now.

I'm looking forward to Saturday as well mate.  Could do a lot worse than Mowbray.

  5. I think blackburn fans are the same as 99% of other fans. Although we have more localised problems such as lots of other clubs close by, some of the biggest in world football. Large areas of the town not being interested in football. And relatively poor wages.

I'd go no matter what if I lived local. Instead im 5 games a year.Unless i thought i was being ripped off. Which we arnt.

I worked in Motherwell for ten years and it used to piss supporters of the local team off no end to see bus loads of people heading to Glasgow every weekend to watch one of the Old Firm.

We get it to a lesser extent with United and Liverpool fans in East Lancs, but it is in significantly greater numbers in Scotland.

    Completely unhealthy.

Same sort of story here. Before living in dunfermline I lived in dundee. A city roughly the size of blackburn and has 2 of the bigger teams in scotland. Who roughly speaking can muster between 5k and 10k fans depending on the success at the time.

Celtic actually had a club shop on the seagate for the entire 6 years of my stay there. But thankfully it's closed down.

  7. You don't really understand how big either old firm club is until you live in Scotland. Every town Is full of both sets of fans. Which adds to the uncompetitiveness of the league.  I think it's compulsory that the closer you get to glasgow it becomes law to wear club branded memorabilia. Anyway I'm travelling over from fife and can't wait. Although I expect the game to be full of reserves due to rangers European commitments.

And we go along with it every time.

One, we will not do our business early, and we never will under Venkys.

Two, there is no way we will sign 4/5 players that will come straight into the first 11 on the first day of next season.

Your comment reads like your annoyed. What do you actually expect.

I'd be shocked and disappointed if we never had targets in mind.

I'd also be shocked but delighted if we signed them first and foremost and speechless if we did it early.

But it's the same as every other team in every league.

When their own goalkeeper was running up to take a goal kick they were doing that “woooooah your sh*t ahhh!”

Then I think they were appealing for Parky to give them a wave and when he ignored/didn’t hear them they were singing “sacked in the morning.”

I watched it in the stadium and I suspect their manager was pointing at the Bolton lot at the end and actually saying “They’re tw*ts, they’re tw*ts!

Don't really care what did or didn't happen. Cant judge all bolton fans by that of a few who sung the songs stated.

The manager told his players to applaud the fans so he can't be to sensitive.

May be wrong but I don’t recall Bolton applauding their travelling support at the end, not that I blame them mind?

I watched it on a stream. At the end it showed Parkinson on the pitch. It showed him saying to players off screen 'the fans the fans' while pointing in the direction of the darwen end. I don't no If they did or didnt applaud

I find is really poor when players need to be told this. Especially after the season bolton have had.

A few reasons why I won't be attending on Saturday:

    1. Preston should have been limited to the allocation they gave us. That is DE lower.

    2.  The game should be at 3pm. My son, who I would go with, has tennis lessons on a Saturday morning, 11-12.30. Paid for, and he loves it.

    3.  This was an ideal opportunity, after a bad month, to do a Rovers promotion, £15 any part of the ground to get bottoms on seats, open the full BE, get an atmosphere.

    4.  The Waggott factor is not doing it for me. He does not have the best interests of the club at heart. He is a Venky puppet.

    5.  They have made this a Nobber away fest. It's a joke.

    6.  I want to come back, but I'm not paying those prices to watch a team who seem to be so unmotivated we are losing to inferior opposition.

    7. The club hierarchy continue to play with the club.

    8.  Lastly, I may well despair at TM's team selection.

I hope we win, in fact I'll be very happy. But I won't be there to see it. That is what still pisses me off.

    Right what are we missing.

What about the weather or being fresh for work on the monday.  Is the misses giving birth or Is it your honeymoon. You plan on breaking a long bone or staying home to prevent a potential house fire.

You don't need to justify yourself pal. You only have to have one important responsibility not to attend and you have. Hope your lad enjoys his lesson.

The rest is Just noise and doesn't seem to live up to your user name. Try I'm proud unless there is anything at all that might hinder my match day experience,  especially if we are in poor form and I have to pay. Oh and I don't like the guy upstairs. But I ain't putting money in the club which could possibly be leading to the initiative to over charge any big away followings.

Got quite a nice ring to it I think.

    I ain't going either. ?

But people arent saying they arent attending because the club has done x, y and z. It is people who are season ticket holders who are saying that the club should be doing everything it can to attract the fairweather fans. The club adopting a "if they want to go and a true fans they will go" attitude would only harm itself.

If you want to think of it as people making excuses as if its an obligation then fine. Surely the club should remove as many of these excuses as possible.

For some, the kick off time will make it impossible to attend. For many more, they will attend but at major inconvenience. And for what reason? Its been proven not be at police request.

Everything you have said is correct and I agree with.

Although my frustration isn't solely because of this one occasion.

I don’t think people are asking the club to bend over backwards by expecting a 3pm Saturday kick off

Yeah that would be ideal and sensible. I don't understand the 12 o'clock ko myself. But how long has this been the ko time.

I'm forming my opinion on my circle of friends and social media. It's either the price. Weather. Venkys. Poor entertainment. On sky. Stream it.Now got other interests. Etc etc.

If you don't want to go. Great

    If you do. Great.

But it annoys me some fans place whatever reason they've got for not attending  at the feet of the club.

If you disagree then we can agree to disagree.

Another fair comment, I probably wouldn't go if it was free now. Reason being, I stopped going after being a ST holder, and eventually started to do other stuff on a Saturday. I now think twice about spending £30 plus beers and other expenses for a lower half championship football match. That's exactly why the club need to do a massive offer on season tickets to get people back, they'll go most games if they have one and then the chances are a lot will return.

My only gripe is with ppl who think the club should bend over back wards to accommodate them.  When we all know if fans wanted to go they would.

I'm not bothered who goes or doesn't.  Everyone has a rite to not go for whatever reason.

I average about 5 home games and 3 aways most years. Some more some less.  But that's my choice. I don't expect the club to win me back.

I appreciate your frankness and honesty.

Why does anyone need to find an excuse not to attend?

Moving it to time people may be working at (for no reason at all) will make it impossible for some even with season tickets to attend. Thats not an excuse.

It is correct to suggest that fans who havent already got season tickets will be less likely to buy them at high prices for a mid table game.

Ill be going regardless but some like yourself seem intent on provoking arguments.

Argument. On a football forum. Grow up. I'll state my opinion on whatever topic I want.

I've lived away from darwen for 14 years and lived in Exeter Taunton dundee and dunfermline.  Worked with only one rovers fan in that time.  So I know every club has part time fans.

Do you think it is a coincidence that my mates  who are the most opinionated don't go.

What was I trying to say, as you seem to know more than I do.

So you think a 12:00 Saturday kick off between two teams with nothing to play for, with the cheapest ticket at £24 is going to see an increase in attendance?

I don't think the club could do anything to tempt most rovers fans to go. And I'm sick of debating it.

I know at least 10 plus fans who have bought a fire stick and iptv.  Yet have an opinion on what the club should or shouldnt do.

I genuinely believe at least half wouldn't attend if it was free.
