You just saw into the future, that's all.

Good atmosphere at the Riverside today?

It was actually. 5 year old daughter has finally got the were on our way back lyrics nailed. To the point where she's humming it and singing around Edinburgh Xmas market.  Just back now so where absolutely shattered.

Great initiative at a time some folk will be a bit brassic after Christmas.

So to put it in context £10 match ticket, £23 Hotel room = less than the price of a ticket alone for the Leeds game so I'm happy with that!

    Hi ossy.

Where you staying for that price. Cheapest I can see is metro center premier inn.

I'll travel down for this out of principle instead of the leeds game. Don't like the feeling of getting mugged off.

I wasn't expecting the play offs this season. Next season maybe. Lets not try to run before we can walk.

Totally agree we should be realistic. As i said id be happy to stay where we are. But there is no promise we are gonna be better next year or the year after that. If that was a given every team would be consistently improving.

My only point was I think the table set out like this is quite eye opening.  Looking forward to tomorrow. I'd settle for a point. COYB

  4. I seen this on another forum and thought it gave a more realistic view of the league table.  Shows clearly gaps appearing within the table which simply stakeing teams from 1st to 24th simply doesn't.

I think there is a danger of the top 7 teams running away and securing the playoff if we aren't careful. It literally is make or break time for this season I think.  Just to emphasis my point a little further we are 11 points off top spot and 11 points off the relegation.

How do you all think we will be sitting come mid January. ?  Id be happy to be where we are .

I decided I was boycotting in the middle of the 2014-15 season. Had a season ticket but stopped going. I’ve been on quite a few games since then, but usually when someone had a spare. I have only bought a ticket 2 or 3 times since.

My hatred of Venky’s remains, and at the start of this season I felt quite torn as to whether or not I should get a season ticket this year. My stance against the owners meant, as futile as it may seem, that I didn’t want to buy one. All the while I felt I was cutting my nose off to spite my face, particularly as I’d go with my Dad and Brother, which I miss. I’m really happy with the players and management, and want to support them. But there is the Venky’s cloud. I still care a lot, but truthfully I’m out of the habit.

I do miss going, but I don’t feel the way I used to about it. It was for a long time what my week was all about. I used to attend more regularly when I was living and working in Holland than I do now.

    What would entice me back?

Well Venkys are going nowhere soon, but the following would help:

Take down the Venky’s advertising hoardings. Seriously. That’s one of my major gripes. They piss me off to what many would deem an irrational level.

Improve the pre game experience. I get that the club has to cater to the masses, but some rubbish karaoke singer in the “fanzone” isn’t my cup of tea. Just play some decent music over a properly functioning tannoy. Man Utd tweet out a playlist before games. Rovervision effectively killing off Radio Rovers spoilt the pre game experience for me. Hate when they show early kick off games on the big screen. Again this might sound petty, but I’d see it as a change and it would peak my interest in going.

I used to like the pubs round Ewood, many of which are gone.

Safe standing would bring me back immediately.

I am firmly in the AMF camp, and I have a tendency to get misty eyed about how it used to be going on Ewood. Maybe I need to “reconnect”.

As someone who, depending on how you view it, is either very sceptical or bashes the club at any opportunity, I have to say that the cost is not a factor. I’ve managed to have a ST during periods where I’ve been in pretty serious financial difficulty. And we offer a very fair deal, particularly on season tickets. The surcharge makes sense to me and would not factor at all in my decision making. If I’m able/organised/not too lazy I can save a couple of quid. If not, no big deal.

In all honesty, if I bit the bullet and started going again, I wouldn’t stop (save for another Venky masterstroke).

    Good post.

Life is to short. Get angry over things you can change.

This is and always will be our club.

  6. First time I've seen him live. Done some good things. Done some poor things. Was better than i expected due to hearing negative conversations. Tried hard. Overall happy to give him this season to bed in and develope.

We have paid a lot of money for us. Not for most teams thou. We've took a chance on potential by buying a ticket in a raffle.

  7. Don't have a season ticket as live in dunfermline. And work 3 out of 4 Saturdays.

I go to almost every 4th weekend game home or away as I'm off work. Its my release so probably won't change my habit.

But the lads I grew up with following rovers have mostly lost interest cause of venkys. Occasionally they pop down but I know this red button option will mean they won't be popping down to ewood.

One of them pays 80 quid to a guy for a channel on a fires stick and he gets to see every game home and away.

I personally think it's the death of full attendances at grounds. Its sad times but for him and others it makes total financial sense.

  8. Reading MOT so I can see you lads are in positive mood and think you will give us a good hiding. You wont as we are hard to beat. Although i would accept a draw. On paper you win but it ain't played on paper. I mite be blinkered thou as I can't stand your club or fans.

Our players are grafting and putting in a shift every week. Even games when we was proper nullified and beaten like sheff u at home. We got beat cause they where better not because a lack of effort. So if you win then you will have deserved it

Unlike wolves last year there isn't a proper standout team. So with your style of play this is as good a chance that you will get to go up.

We are in a better place now than we have been in the last few years. To the point where we fear no one in this division. Not even massive massive leeds. Imagine that.

Saying that im delighted if we finish in the top half and slowly build for the next few years although there is always hopes of playoffs.
