  1. Having arrived at the designated meeting point a good 3 1/2hrs before kick off, the police closed the bars and insisted we remain there until 8pm when the bus would then take us to the ground. Not a hint of trouble just bad policing and will certainly put people off following the guidelines laid down by the club in future.

We were kept penned in like animals and if you attempted to leave you’d be met with hostility and abuse.

It needs mentioning please BRISA as I’ve never experienced anything like this previously on European trips. Both Turkey and Bulgaria had just as much potential for trouble and yet things went like clock work in those two countries.

    Thanks in advance.

As I was with gav for the majority of 3 days I have to say the above was the only downer on what was a fantastic trip.

It really doesn't make sense to me to antagonise folk by not allowing them to drink and then almost laughing in your faces when asking for an explanation as to why not?

I honestly believe Rovers fans were being treated in this manner because of the reputation England fans have.

Saying all that the highlight for me has to be Macky's (snr) rendition of no nay never in Grasshopper! (I must have spent 20quid just going toilet in that place.)

  2. Went to watch Eagley v Charnock richard (west lancs lge) yesterday afternoon, then raced home for England match.

Without a shadow of doubt the first match give me far far more enjoyment, and all for the total cost of NOTHING!!!!!!!

England's top profesional players are overpaid, overhyped, and in world terms ............average at best!

  3. For those supporters staying at Europa92 hotel in Amsterdam, I have had a response from the hotel who are waiting with open arms to welcome supporters of BRFC.

From the airport you need to catch the train to central station cost in euro 3.50.

At central station catch tram 1, 2 or 5 for Leidseplein and the hotel is a mere 4 minute walk.

Similarly the cost of a taxi from the airport is 35 euros.

They are sending me some more information soon.

Thanks for that 1864, much appreciated ;)

  4. Take the Wigan game, a local derby played on a Sunday afternoon and not on TV. A gate of 17.8k is frankly pathetic. I would estimate that there were probably 2.5k fans missing from the previous game against Salzburg.

The fact is the Rovers match yesterday was shown on TV and from what I'm led to believe every single match this season has been shown live on 1 station or another. (bar salzburg away)

We left a certain pub at 2.50pm yesterday with the landlord telling us we must be mad to pay what we do instead of sitting in the warmth of his pub, enjoying the match on tv and havin a few pints for half the cost.

Now whilst I would never consider such a thing, believe me, there are many that do. To see lads coming in as we were leaving with there rovers shirts on, ordering thier drinks and parking down for the next couple of hours or so was a sad sight indeed.
