  1. Gav's booze bus will be making a few trips next season, wonder where we'll be going early doors? London trips are best done by train but we'll maybe stretch to Reading as its a new venue.

    PS,

No half pints from Chorley who throw up in the mini bus this season either........ :P

Alright "big boy"........nevermind we'll stretch to reading, what's up with a sunny fratton park??

  2. The last 18 months of Souey's reign at ewood was an absolute disaster. His constant falling out with top players was just bloody suicide, this obviously led to poor team morale and that was plain to see in the dross that was being served up on the pitch.

However, that will not take away the good memories we should have of the man.

The promotion season, worthy trophy and a top 6 finish in the prem must count for something, and on a personal note I will never forget him on the touchline at celtic, jacket undone chest out and going to war with the less than friendly baying mob behind him.

Good lad Souey and good luck!

  3. Here are the top ten crowds as I can find them since the 94/95 season:

    1) Liverpool 24/2/96    30,895

    2) Newcastle 8/5/95      30,545

    3) Fulham 11/5/02      30,487

    4) Man Utd 22/12/02    30,475

    5) Man Utd 12/5/99      30,436

    6) Bolton    3/2/96        30,419

    7) Newcastle 26/12/96  30,398

    8) Man Utd 23/10/94      30,260

    9) Liverpool 13/9/03      30,074

    10) Tottenham 30/12/95  30,004

    (EDIT:FOUND A MATCH V NEWCASTLE 30,717 8/4/96 2nd highest)

Of these crowds, 20 of the top five and 3 of the top 10 have come within the last4 years.Also,3 of the top five are the last home match of the season.Just for  yucks and grins, here is the second ten again as i could find it:

    11) Newcastle 31/1/00    29,946

    12) Man city    7/5/00    29,913

    13) Arsenal  15/3/03    29,840

    14) Man Utd  22/8/01      29,836

    15) Arsenal  27/4/96      29,834

    16) Celtic      14/11/02    29,698

    17) Man Utd  1/5/04        29,616

    18) Newcastle 26/12/04  29,271

    19) Liverpool  28/8/02    29,207

    20) Man Utd  22/1/03    29,048

    EDIT MAN UTD 28/9/95  29,843

I'm sure there are holes in these number(meaning some games I've overlooked have a greater attendance than these listed).does anyone know if the club has an official list of the top attended matches?

I was shocked that so many of the second ten are in this decade and not the previous one.

No 3 on the list, Fulham........... When people say cheaper tkts dont work, could they please explain that one.

  4. ***GAV`S £50 BET UPDATE***

A poor crowd of only 20410 bothered to turn up & watch this dire Lancashire derby.

Seems like most people decided to watch it at home or in the pub (which is what i should`ve done) I spent £30 (ticket, pie & pint) & came away feeling rather short changed. Anyway, here`s how Gav`s £50 bet looks:-

Rovers tinykit.gif  average home league gate is now 20261 after 16 games (up 10)

Wigan`s average home league gate is 20904 after 16 games

(Rovers are an average of 643 behind with 3 home games left each)

Rovers tinykit.gif  total home league attendances stand at 324172

Wigan`s total home league attendances stand at 334462

    (Rovers are 10290 behind)

with only 3 home games left each, for Gav to win his bet Rovers have to get 3430 or more people each game than Wigan.

Rovers tinykit.gif  have to play:- Liverpool, Chelsea & Man City

Wigan have :-BIG club, Villa & Pompey

    Can it be done??

    Wigan's attendance today: 18,669
