  1. After watching football perfousley for many years, it is quite clear that Kuqi cannot play in the premiership. His work and determination are admirable, however, it is PREMIERSHIP football and he isnt premiership material. His shot is very wayward, and his basic strikers insticts are not upto scratch i.e. Tottenham match at home and Aston Villa today. Whilst Dickov isnt blessed too, his touched is impeccable to compensate for his inabilties, however, Kuqis touch is awful and only seems to compensate for his inabilities with work and determination which although may please some, dosnt get you goals as Dickov showed last season - being our top scorer and Blackburn ending up bottom of the goals scored league. It isnt a character assisination. I would really really loved to be proven wrong, but, whilst our best striker - Bellamy is injured, and other strikers such as Jansen not ever going to recapture the form people still live off, its all we have unfortunately. Im doing my best to persist but its heart-wrenching to watch such a poor striker who tries but is way out of his depth.
  2. My cousin has just decided that he wants to go see the game tomorrow down london. However, we are both concerned that he wont be able to get a ticket at the gate. Anyone with any info regarding the tickets and any suggestions as if he should gamble it, because its a long way to go gamble!
  3. Anyone any idea about the best time to catch players before the game for autographs then?
  4. Hi All Im going down tonight to get the players autographs. I desperately want Alan Shearers for sentimental value although I could easily get down for one of the ebay merchants. Anyone suggest a time to go and catch the players, maybe 6.00PM? Liam.
  5. The Souness song which went to the tune of his death? Hmm. Im in the pro-Souness camp so I wasnt necessarily impressed personally...
  6. Just got back from the game, and Im really gutted. Not only was the performance pretty poor, the Birmingham fans have just bolstered my dislike for that football club. Birmingham started the brightest, and my heart sank when Pandiani, whom appeared a class above the rest hit the inside of the post which went for a goalkick. Reminisant of Steads. We then threatened, and poor defending led to a Rovers goal, when Jon Stead headed from close range. It was then a game of two halves however, I feel the point of the game that basically would have made or broke Rovers was when Stead missed a simple, one on one chance that he put over the bar. I am still incensed by his poor finishing, and it pretty much epitomised that a few members have stated on other threads, however, thats for the other threads. The only saving grace is that my uncle who was also at the game said he had been tripped and lost balance, I guess Ill have to see it again. Second half was all Birmingham, and they deservedly took the lead with Blake scoring a good goal with crisp passing mixed with poor marking and picking up runners. Their second goal was a good turn and hit on the outside of the box, which in all fairness, Brad should have saved. We couldnt string any sort of passing rythem together and our creativity amounted to absolutely nothing. Poor substitutions whom never performed didnt help much too. A draw would have been a fair result but I guess they may have edged it. Still think Steads miss was the crucial factor in the game. Going in 2-0 at half time would have been massive.
  7. Arsenal I feel as some other memebers have said, was the best possible draw we could have hoped for at this stage. Newcastle yesterday won their 7th game on the trot and Man Utd have been in senstalating form over the last few months. Yet, Arsenal have just dipped with the Bayern Munich away game epitomising their poor form. However, I think that the deciding games will be those at Man Utd away and Arsenal away. If we can muster something and get results with a good, solid, organised defensive display with a lingering attack presence in the form of Pedersen and Dickov, than there is no reason why we cant get a result. Everton away epitomises the type of display needed against albeit a far superior team. Yet, if the foundations are there, we can at least make a good account of ourselves. Anyway, Souness and Shearer will have ultimately beaten us and we never beat Utd so there
  8. The BEST draw we could have possibly hoped for!!
  9. My little brother just came into the room and said that Thompson got smacked off Doherty as there was bickering going on in the tunnel. Anyone else heard anything?
  10. Im like a few of you, slightly mad that I cannot now get tickets for the game because I never thought it would sell out. I took the liberty of ringing the ticket office which said that they hadn't actually sent any of the allocation (700) back and were actually refused more tickets. Hmm... Anyway, Looks like I can't go to Norwich, the first game Im going to miss all season
  11. How can a striker, regardless of his confidence, not score a penalty. I mean, he never even hit the bloody target. Awful defending however, especially for the third goal - No one picked up the runner who scored and instead of using the cliche "When in doubt - kick it out," Nissa decided to let Bournmouth have another crack at the whip....
