Perhaps most importantly they stated that they would not refuse anyone a ticket as a result of the changes. There will be exceptions where a paper ticket will be provided - but it’s an exception rather than an option

Thanks for your post and obvious effort to help supporters beat these needless obstacles.

Did they give examples of what the exceptions might be?

I have been trading emails with Fraser Read and the upshot is that there will be no compromise from the club. I sent him a link to this thread as what I believe to be a representation from the fans but no climb down.

I'm really disappointed by the club's obstinate stand and absolute failure to listen to supporters.

A thread on here won't cut it.

They just treat it as a load of people whinging.

The more people that refuse to go, the better.

    A massive communications improvement:

The ‘technical issue’ between the Rovers and Cambridge systems is that CUFC are not with Ticketmaster.

    Never heard anything so ridiculous.

If they'd listened properly then they'd have scrapped it.

As well as the away tickets, how many non-digital freebies will be printed I wonder!

It takes the gloss off the great initiative of having a fans' takeover day by creating a barrier for people to attend the Cambridge game.

could this "digital day " be the brainchild of the idiot marketing moron fraser reid

He's certainly involved, he was cc'd into a reply I received regarding this.

In a nutshell, they fully intend to turn people away if they refuse to buy online.

Needless to say they've lost at least one tenner from me and subsequent concourse purchases etc.

Wouldn’t it be great and a big two fingers to waggott if we all got tickets in the JW lower and at 7.40 everyone just stepped over the fence and walked round to the bburn end and sat in there . Take our end back. If a few hundred did it I don’t think they could or would do anything 💪

Also, if the club get wind that this could potentially happen it will result in more stewarding costs (because they will want to stop it) and therefore may be worth their while to do a U-turn on closing the BBE 😉

Fans at some clubs probably would do, but as we know Rovers fans in general just sit and accept.

Not one anti waggot chant from Ewood tonight

Yep, such a passive fan base.

  7. We've seen cost cutting measures before, firstly with the closing of the Darwen End and then the Riverside for cup games.

But now to only offer 1 stand is just plain ridiculous.

If Waggott is that intent on penny pinching then he could have allowed the Blackburn End to stay open but instead close 2 out of the 4 sections of the JW stand. That stand operates as 4 seperate areas so could have easily been condensed. That way fans would still have had a choice between a side view or behind the goal.

The clowns that run our club never cease to amaze me.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but could questions be asked about sorting the bar out at the next fans forum?

The amount of time it takes to get a pint is pathetic...i usually go int the family stand too so god knows what it's like in other stands with more people there

@only2garnerscould you also add that in the JW lower (Darwen End half) the old betting kiosks are left empty when they could be utilised as bottle bars (I believe they do this in the Blackburn End). There is only 1 kiosk in the JW lower that serves alcohol and the queues are ridiculous. There's another kiosk that does food only and that copes quite well. So can they either reintroduce alcohol in there or make use of the old betting kiosks with bottles?

    Thanks.

To be fair, I hadn't really thought of it from Leeds' point of view until I heard that discussion.

It's their way of protecting their own fans from being fleeced, which we all know would definitely happen.

I remember in the Kean days going to Leeds and paying nearly £40. This is nothing new from them.

  10. He also confirmed that around 7k ST's were sold at the lower price & around 1.5k since.

I asked does increasing the price not prove that sales will take a hit? He said he wanted to keep it at the lower price for as long as possible but the owners were pushing for the increase as soon as possible (budgets). He said it's the highest total since he's been here & is hoping for 10k in total!
