There has been very little criticism on Twitter apart from someone saying this is old news and they could not understand why it was released now. It was not released because I am a lackey of the Club (I can assure you I am not) and it was not given to me to leak to deflect attention from the mess on the playing side. It is purely factual information.
The ‘news’ is available openly and publicly, perhaps no one had spotted it. The HMRC letter was dated April 2023 and the Court case was July 2023; this must have been a nightmare of a time for those at Ewood trying to balance the books.
I will explain the reason I put this out. Firstly I believe the fan base should have a better knowledge of the Club’s financial predicament; if it was something told to me in confidence it would not have been released, as I said above it is in a public document.
Secondly the owners, whether fans like it or not, took the applications to the High Court at no doubt great expense. They secured payments to Rovers and the HMRC, VAT, staff etc have all been paid. Whether fans like it or not credit should be given to the owners for this.
The role of the Trust is to try and engage as a critical friend with the owners and their representatives whether they be the Venky’s, the Walker family or the Nolan sisters. We will continue to try our very best to influence on behalf of our members.
We do not have secret meetings with the Club; if I or other Board members meet with the Club then the whole Trust Board are aware. Clearly we may receive confidential information from time to time - this will never be divulged by any Trust Board member.
Sounds like the club have well and truly got you guys on side.
You may get lip service but you will never influence anything major at the club. That's not a criticism btw, it's just the way it is.
It's time for pressure, not friends. These people are neglecting our club and putting it at risk for future generations.

The @RoversTrust should be putting a press release out asap asking for the removal of the board.
Reading fans are far more passionate than us and that's a really sad state of affairs.
I fear that despite all the good work the Trust do they won't want to rock the boat or jeopardise their relationship with Waggott and co. He's a proven liar now, so hope I'm wrong.
-
...bet this was kept quiet / swept under the carpet by Waggott & co at FF and Rovers Trust meetings.
Now is the time for protests to re-start.
Never mind "get behind the team" its about having a team to watch long term.

You don’t consider that to be part of a manager’s job then?
Not at Ewood, more likely a decision from higher up.

Look at the good work the supporters groups did to get fans in for the Watford game, the activities and giveaways beforehand etc. It brought a positive feel and a buzz.
Now imagine similar people were running the club instead of the idiots we have now. Granted it's a whole different ball game than organising a fans day but people would re-engage with the club. Fan ownership works as seen at other clubs, however we are a million miles away from that.
I would take the admin, points deduction, relegation to start again with the right people involved - in a heartbeat.

"Whilst the digital process has worked well, with a number of supporters managing to switch to a digital and more sustainable form of ticketing, "
Do they read the forums then?!
Thats just to protect whatever idiot dreamt it up. Empty seats speak for themselves, there's never been this many less than 48hrs before before a game.
Anyway, at least someone saw the light and scrapped it (despite how they've dressed it up) so thanks for that and as promised i will now attend.

I'll look forward to seeing them.
Sadly, unless the ticket policy changes it won't be on Saturday.

Which would be a PR nightmare. To u-turn so close to the game would be a real sign of a lack of understanding. They’re so deep in now, it’s best to continue.
It can't be any more of a PR nightmare than it is now. At least by doing a U-turn they can demonstrate that they have listened and more importantly allow as many fans to go as possible.

Wow I’ve never seen anything like that, are front row popular or have they just not been on sale?
Shambolic handling of this
Yeah they don't sell the front rows now except for disabilities/mobility.

We are trying to build an effective relationship with the Club. Walking out achieves absolutely nothing and would kybosh any future Fans Takeover and discussions we have agreed to have on the future structure of Season Ticket pricing.
@Mike Graham @Miller11 Was the 'digital day' mess mentioned?

Admit your fuck ups sooner?
Agreed, I just meant with this particular issue right now. Lessons to be learnt in general there's no doubt.

Too late now. The message is out and 2 weeks have passed by with the club stubbornly sticking to their daft idea.
Even if they were to announce on Thursday that paper tickets are available it leaves all of 24 hours or so for the message to get out and people to change their minds and go.
I would go, but some may have made other plans I agree.
Obviously we're still guessing, but if they do realise they've messed up & hold their hands up then you can't really ask for much more than that.
-
My guess is that they will want as many to buy digital as possible without announcing anything to the contrary until the latest possible moment.
Fingers crossed common sense will prevail.
In the meantime a few small batches of seats have been greyed out in parts of the JW, likely to be comps. Be interesting to know if they are digital or paper tickets as they are usually collected from the BBE reception.
-
Cambridge now have a further batch of paper tickets on sale in S01.
-
They've opened the BBE again for Cambridge, but the lower than usual cup sales caused by 'digital day' will probably be twisted as an excuse to close it again when we play lower league teams in the cup in future.
Looking at the seating map, sales are unsurprisingly dreadful. Shame they are too pig headed to do the sensible thing.

Anyone not up to date with mobile phones or even IT printer technology needs to sort their tickets out well in advance.
No offence just a polite reminder to anyone Rovers fans going to this game.
I won't be jumping through any hoops to get a ticket. If they won't sell me a paper ticket then I won't be going.
I don't have a compatible phone or a printer, so it's upto them.
I'll contact them and try to purchase, but if not I'll spend the money elsewhere.

What makes it worse is we have so sit there looking at the endless amounts of V*nky logo's plastered around the stadium as a reminder.

It says "Venkys" on it, doesn't it?
Yes. Last time they removed it was v Bournemouth, so fingers crossed. There's only about 20 tickets left in that block now.
I've no doubt they'd sell the other 200ish if made available.

2 weeks to go and no ticket info, never mind on sale.
Thought it would have been announced first thing as surely they'll know how much they're charging and which stands they are closing.
