A perfect season for me would see Rovers promoted, the Under-23's promoted, Stanley to win League 2 and Burnley to finish in the top eight of the Premier League.  If nothing else it would show those who seem to think that football success is the preserve of the big-spending city clubs that the traditional town clubs are still here and still achieving success.

I was with you until you mentioned Burnley

Maybe you could question why I clicked on thread in first place (I certainly did prior but simply was tired of seeing the topic) but you can't blame me for responding after reading it. At least this page and the last anyway. I'm sorry but to suggest Accrington adds any relevance whatsoever to Rovers winning promotion this season is as small minded as it gets. Could you add a "hide thread" option possibly for those that are either of no interest, cause annoyance or sometimes both? I don't ignore any posters though and there's certainly a couple I can't abide at all. You aren't one of those and if I recall right admins/mods can't be ignored anyway?

I grew up in Blackburn of course (1986 being my year of birth) and that coincided with the 1990's. I didn't know any Burnley or Accrington fans then and I still don't. I always felt kids who supported United seemed more arrogant and dislikeable in general. Not to mention the club itself and the people who played/managed there! As for social media I don't really get involved in many conversations with Burnley fans. I also joined this forum shortly before twitter existed but I guess Facebook/Myspace was still around. That hasn't changed anything I still think United fans are the most obnoxious around not that I engage in conversation with them either. I don't like it when people mention Burnley fans chanting about Jack obviously but people ought to be more bothered about his family/trustees. Plus I don't believe Jack gave a toss about Burnley anyway. Certainly not while he was owner (can't say the 90's were ruined by the absence of any Burnley fixtures) and the whole "hatred" thing started more in the 1970's when Jack was already in his 40's.

Can't disagree with that. I get where your coming from

  3. I suppose it's dependant on where you live. In the 90s when we where challenging for the title and Wigan where playing leek town or some random unknown I grew up surrounded by and hating man united. Like vinjay that hatred will never go away. My hatred of Burnley has grew to equal propertions over the years due to social media etc and through attending the fixtures between both clubs. This season I have all the banter with the Wigan fans as I live in Wigan and don't give accrington a seconds thought. I always look out for Wigan games hoping they did well (until this season) . I would never give accy a seconds thought even if we do play them next season whilst not trying to be dismissive of their achievements. So if your in the accrington area I understand why fans feel the way they do , the same way the rest of us couldn't care less regarding rovers but simply admire a wonderful effort this season similarly of Shrewsbury or dare I say it ....them

Yes... which are numbers lower than 10. Credit to him, he's fantastic. But to say he's world class would put him in the same bracket as Raul, Ronaldo, Puskas, or DiStefano.

Even Shearer sadly never QUITE got into that bracket, but he's the nearest thing we had.

Kane will certainly get there if he keeps it up though against a variety of opponents.

Alan shearer was world class and so was his celebration

  5. I don't know why Delph hasn't been called up unless he is injured. I would of played him in the centre of midfield for a friendly see how he got on. Been excellent at city this season albeit at left back but with guadiolas tactics often sat in the middle whilst city where attacking

Is selecting Wilshere a good idea knowing his hatred for Tottenham when you have several Tottenham players in the squad ?

Harry Kane for me looks too slow to have an impact at International level impact sub at best for me.

Dier for me is like Corry Evans does nothing of note to warrant a place.

Stones like Kane is too slow and always has a mistake in him.

When I've watched Dell Ali and Rashford play together, Ali always seems to play very difficult balls into Rashford which riles me as they are two very good English players.

Hart has to be third choice at best when it comes to keepers if Pick ford is the Everton goalkeeper then No way should this young dummy be playing for England.

Harry Kane an impact sub at best. One of the best strikers in Europe in the weakest England squad in my lifetime an impact sub. Now I know your on the wind up

Never said Rovers had a fixture pile up.

Said If Rovers had done well in cup competitions like Checktrade and fa cup we could have fixture pile up. Not what we need right now. Wigan have 15 games in 60 days.

Yes we could have played a game behind closed doors but recently with the bad weather I would guess teams havent be interest because of that.

I cant believe how many people are complaining about this Lancashire cup game. Blimey its the Lancashire cup FFS

It's not the cup it's self it's the fact some young lads worked hard to get to a semi final and would of took pride in possibly winning. now they are out because all the older players couldn't be arsed

  8. I teach my 4 year old to put effort in and try your best. All strikers go through goal droughts he's being criticised for his effort and work rate. He's a 24 year old adult earning thousands of pounds a week. How old do you have to be before you learn that 100% effort is the minimum requirement

  9. To not even score with that line up against burys third string or kids is apalling, unprofessional and disrespectful to the young lads that had got us so far. Samuel can fek off along with nuttall. I've seen enough of them to no there not Blackburn rovers players
