  1. Mark Hughes , tugay . Wouldn't swap them for pace. I know your going to say different positions and right back requires pace which is true to a point. However a football brain that can read a game and isn't error prone and makes the right choices over a rapid but positionally unaware liability. If he's so fast he can grab the ball from the back of the net and Sprint with it back to the centre spot.  Caddis offers nothing going forward nyambe offers nothing full stop. Easy decision

  2. I would of loved a group with Argentina, Iceland and Australia. Always nice to beat the Aussies, revenge against iceland and guaranteed to be fired up and a good test against a beatable Argentina, another team I love beating for all the obvious reasons . Still happy with the draw and we should progress.

Very pleased for them the way they've stuff at it and stuck to their guns they deserve it and it shows karma does always get served eventually, I hope the vile Oystons end up in a B&B in a stinking Blackpool back street somewhere.

Sadly for us and handily for them they've been able to target those responsible on almost a daily basis but at the end of the day it did take one wealthy business man going after another to end up with this result.

It also helps the fans and press new why the oystons had Blackpool and who exactly owned the club . We however still have no idea why the continue to own us and who actually pulls the strings. When we find out this we can find ways to hit the right people where it hurts . Until then our cause is disjointed and will never be  unified with very minimal if any impact. Still great news for them and I hope they get all the success they deserve. We can but live in hope xx

  4. Just checked. The wigan team we beat 1-0 in march. That line up has three players who played and beat Blackpool last weekend. Assuming that was their best possible team and due to the result it shouldn't be to dissimilar tomorrow.

They finished below us and HAD a losing mentality. They had a huge turnover of players. The only difference is the manager. Hmmmm.

Oh and they are firmly on course for automatic promotion with ( I'm guessing) a far inferior wage budget

  5. All this TRY and take the game to them IF WE CAN. What do you mean IF Tony. You said yourself , with the squad you have, top two or your not fit to manage. Secondly how can you say DG was the only player playing in the team from last time we played them, then, back it up with the team has a losing mentality from last year when the vast majority are new players YOU brought in and the remaining ones you have had 9 MONTHS to motivate and eradicate this losing mentality and instill confidence , which is the main aspect of the Job role you took on. If someone can be arsed to check how many Wigan players are playing from last time we played I would wager it's not far off a new team barring maybe 3-4. I have seriously lost all patience with the bloke after that. Uninspiring is not the word. To say the team lack confidence then say IF we can and HOPEFULLY get results . It's you that lacks confidence Tony and now the fans are losing it in you.

Enough is enough. Stop with the excuses. Talk like you have confidence in the players and maybe they will respond with confidence in you. Stop giving the players excuses and reasons to fail before a ball is kicked. Stop with the guardiola school of tactical genius and get 11 players to put their bodies on the line , hearts on their sleeves and drag ourselves out of the piss poor standard league. Puts some points on the board or go

Standards and expectation is being dumbed down NO MORE

  6. Both, but mowbray chose them players and paid good money for one or two so ultimately he is to blame, that's not to say the players shouldn't shoulder some blame and responsibility. Tony said he didn't come away thinking it was a bad performance. I wasn't their but judging by the reaction of people on here , they are worrying comments. If you factor in the checkatrade performance of people supposedly trying to stake a claim for a place in this underachieving team you seriously have to start questioning his motivational skills and authority after the comments of that game. End of the day it's just not good enough or acceptable

  7. Kings potential was obvious and he was badly mismanaged whilst at rovers. There is no question king is in a different league to Rhodes and will go on to have the better career. However at the time Rhodes was prolific in front of goal and nobody in their right mind would have dropped rhodes for king. If I had a choice of the two now it's king all day. If your asking who was the better rovers player it's Rhodes and anybody who wouldn't have him before Danny Graham needs their head examined

  8. Why do people talk like one day rangers will be back challenging Celtic and this will improve the SPL. Not long back both teams where competing relatively equally and it was still spoke about like it is today only two teams instead of one. That league is the most predictable borefest on the planet . Always was even before rangers went bust

Lowe was man of the match v Leeds the other week. And he could still have done a good job for us this season, either at right back or in midfield. Are his replacements in those positions really any better?

Or another note, I hope that's the last of Redknapp. He's never liked Rovers and compounded it by inspiring Birmingham to stay up last season at our expense. I hope they go down this time.

Smallwood is far better than lowe. The right backs are no worse and don't earn his wage between them.

20 goals is better than none dreams.

When that time arrives and full back has a one v one situation the cross for me is out, you take him on, beat him and put it in the back of the net.

Then we are all better off !  If I'm coaching youngsters to keep crossing the ball and not finishing it, I'd feel I've failed as a coach.

Glad my kid ain't being " coached " by you

Rovers were the attacking side all game and we started well but after we went 1 nil up we didnt keep the ball well enough and not convert our chances. We had enough in the game

Boro were a defensive side and started 4-4-2 and after 10 mins went 4-1-4-1 and play on the counter. 4 shots 3 goals.

Nuttall was quiet and the worst game ive seen him play. Rankin-Costello went quiet after his goal. Tomlinson and Hardcastle had ok games were good and poor points.

Travis and Doyle were very good and got forward every opportunity and put in some good crosses in.

Grayson kick out was a sending off and stupid to do but you can see why he did.

The ref was rubbish and no idea of what he was doing. Boro number 5 was in the ref ear at every opportunity to put pressure on him and he cracked

    Pretty fair and accurate assessment

  12. Just got back. The first half was played at walking pace . Very static and Coventry looked quite dangerous at times. Second was a lot better. Quicker slicker passing , chances created and enjoyable to watch. Smallwood was excellent. Gladwin was impressive when he came on as was Doyle and Caddis is head and shoulders better than nyambe. Williams had a poor game and i am still reserving judgement on Chapman until he stops trying to be neymar and losing the ball and has a few games behind him. Overall decent result with some promising performances. Hopefully tony will have a better idea of what he's trying to achieve and which players are up to the job. Roll on Saturday. COYB
