You'll have to wheel Broughton out of the place in a wooden box with Waggott I'll wager. No way he's giving up that cushy little number with zero accountability.
Your dislike of Broughton is irrational
It simply has to be for the purpose of winding people up. You aren’t stupid

£22m for your young prodigy sounds good. At a normal club
We have never reinvested any of the money we make. That's why I still think it is silly people moan about the Brereton fiasco. Okay, we'd have got £8m, but for the team what does that even mean?
We might sign a player for about £1m. Maybe that McGuire lad who I know absolutely nothing about. That's not reinvestment though
Really we want to be signing McGuire and then a good, top level Championship midfielder for about £5m range for about £15k a week on a 4 year deal. That's how you reinvest the money from Wharton. Won't happen though

When the Venkys took over, we lost our starlet to Utd
It wasn't nice to see Jones go but you could understand it
After over a decade of their ownership we now lose our stars to Crystal Palace. A phrase you would have laughed at if you were told that back in 2008
They are a blight on all things Blackburn Rovers. Until they go, nothing improves
I am with JHRover on this one. The most sickening part is knowing it makes Waggott's and Madam's life that little bit easier
I have enjoyed every minute of watching young Adam develop and play here. Sickening to lose him like this

How far we have fallen
Losing our own to a club like Palace so early in his career
Fuck Venkys. The day they go will be the day this club becomes something I am proud of again

Wrexhams keeper is a perfect example of what’s below us
When people slag Leo off, who hasn’t played well, they should look at this guy to know just how many leagues above both our keepers are
When you go down the football pyramid the standard of keeping shows the biggest skill gap

It will be a reaffirming of commitment to the club
They do this every time there is controversy
How many owners in English football do you think have had to write half a dozen commitment speeches to the fans? It has become their go to weapon
It is the typical "sorry love" and bunch of flowers after not coming home on Saturday night

I don't think Wharton will move to Palace
He has a good chance of starting there, but then you look at a player like Will Hughes. Okay he's a regular PL player now but to where he could have been, he has sort of stagnated a bit at Palace
You have to hope those advising him are telling him to stay true to his word. Another season after this, of regular Championship football, and he will be ready to move to an aspiring Prem club

Joey Barton has removed himself from being relevant now
He'll never get another gig in football, which really was the only thing that separated him from his dipshit family

Interestingly, I've just noticed that Bobby Mimms is actively looking for work on his LinkedIn. States "Open to new opportunities". Even at 60, surely he's still got a hell of a lot to offer our goalkeeping dept?
Not that I expect anything like like that to even cross the minds of the cockwombles in charge at Ewood.
I don't quite know whether Football Manager is a good indication of coaching abilities, but Bobby Mimms was always very highly rated on there
They get their player ratings right (mostly...) so maybe they get their coaches too

Even Mowbray told him in Public he needed to "get between the posts" more often years ago.
To no avail.
Hopefully his sale is simply being delayed until after the Court hearing after which it will be the sweetest £1.5 - £2m we'll ever receive if it goes through imo.
You don't often get a second Christmas at the end of January.
Blimey, that's a harsh assessment
Gallagher is not a waster. He usually runs himself into the ground. I remember our second goal vs Leicester were he closed down and tackled their full back. Sammie went on to score in front of us jubilant travelling fans. It was a fantastic piece of work rate from Gallagher
Mowbray used to tell him to get between the posts, then played him on the bloody right wing. Let's not get that twisted
You are wishing away our best striker at the club. Okay, he is not a league winner, but he's an improvement on what remains

I actually thought Coyle got more of a tune out of Gallagher than anybody else has
He was a pretty basic manager in terms of tactics. Throw it down the wing, get the ball in and attack it. It still remains Gallagher's best goal return over a season
Since then he has been asked to play a different style. Whether it's out wide, or even as a more hold it up type player. Gally always looks most dangerous when he's bundling through players. That said, he seems to have lost that ability to attack the ball, as for a tall man he doesn't score a lot from crosses into the box
I hope we keep him. I have been critical of Gally in the past but he's our best striker now by a long shot. Selling him is a sign of retreat. We may as well give up this season and hope there's 3 teams worse than us

Could other operating expenses include the amounts we pay for Brockhall?
It tends to include items like maintenance, rent, utilities etc. We'd be hard pressed to spend ~£6m more than PNE on items like that though. A strange anomaly there. Without looking at the accounts I think directors' salaries are listed separately, and so it can't be that.
Just seen GWhite's post above. Makes sense.

Who on earth would want to buy Rovers!?
Even if Venky's gave us away and wrote off their £200millionish losses, any new owners would need £30/40 million for working capital purposes plus, most likely, getting on for £20million to buy back Brockhall (though not sure what the caveats are around Brockhall following its sale).
If someone out there wants to make a real go of it by appointing some quality management from top to bottom and have a 'war chest' for player acquisitions then I would suggest they need getting on for £100million to throw at it.
Most people would buy Blackburn Rovers if they were genuinely interested in a football club
It has the lot for a prospective buyer
If Venkys were to ever sell the Club, they'd have to write off the £200m because in not doing that it would make their asking price too high for its market value. Nobody would bite. So the £200m would go regardless
Brockhall would also come with the deal. But it would have always been costed into the price of the club anyway, so I'm not sure where you are going with that
Where has your £100m figure come from??????

A bizarre game really. Very poor quality from both sides
I don’t really have much to say except I am at a loss why we took our left back off to play Anor there. For the last period of the 2nd half we played without a left back. Against a better side they’d have punished us
Putting JRC at right back, Brittain further up and Anor at left back is a “sack me” decision. Brainless. It completely ruined any chance we had of winning
Frustrating a day as any. JDT is running out of options

This Juke fella has never really hit the heights. I don’t think he’s the answer
The only thing he’d give us is a bit of an aerial threat, but considering we are averse to putting a cross in what’s the point?
The one thing he might do is show the young strikers it’s possible to be as tough tackling and mean as the centre halves they face. He is good at that at least

I don't think administration will happen under Venkys. They are still a profitable company and have shown willing to pay what is required - but not a penny more - to keep the wolves at the door
Unfortunately, we will continue to be at the whim of their shareholders. You have to imagine that, given there are loans taken out against the parent company, some of the shareholders are questioning the reason they continue to hold on to Rovers. It isn't giving them any good publicity and they clearly have no long term plan to improve the club. So if I was sat on the board my question would be: what is the play here?
I wish beyond everything they would act in a decent way and appoint people to run the club who know what they are doing. It is the bare minimum any owner should do. These types of owners are why the white paper on football ownership does not go far enough. In this country we absolutely have to have fan representation at board level. Rovers could be held as a case study imo. Distant owners, disinterested in progress and who jump from controversy to controversy. It is compounded by a lack of local management

@J*B we have not had a BRFCS poll for a long time regarding where the blame lies.
If our season tickets are circa 9000, then any poll 900 or more participants is a nice percentage for a,
A recent poll was carried out which equates to 10% of the home crowd .
Just a thought?
Brfcs will always be more critical than the fan base in general though
We spend more time delving into the club. Read more posts from people who have devoted parts of their life to uncovering things
The general match going fan looks at the squad once a week; looks at the table and then concludes how the club is doing
That's why the most vociferous anti-Venky mood since the original takeover was in our relegation season
Since then, it has been a different outlook, and that is because there's been improvement on the pitch

Carter has been crap this season, really poor like all the defence. He was very good last season so probably a big factor is the style. I dont think he is poor and he has ability but equally a lot to prove to justify any sense in rumours of a big money move. He
But my use of the word lumbering is more specific to seeing him at right back especially in his form, another not suited to the current style.
Rankin Costello was not rated by Tomasson at that same time, he had one game (was it Bristol City?) where he was woeful and he had never established himself up until then. His upturn was as surprising and sudden as it was impressive. He is now a standout player.
I was wrong in thinking Rankin Costello was not up to it. Tomasson was clearly of the same mindset. I hold my hands up in being wrong but that doesnt mean I have to reserve judgement going forward and I know ill be wrong again at times, as will we all.
I think Carter moreso than Brittain can thrive again if the style of play is altered. Theres a good young defender in there thats horribly out of form and being exposed.
Fair comments rovers.
Sometimes I get a bit annoyed at your descriptions of players. I don't think calling Carter lumbersome is fair as he's far from it. I don't think anybody should reserve their opinions - if you heard some of the things I shout during games you'd know - but at times I think the criticism can be unfair from you. Not that they read it anyway but you know
Carter is a player that will excel with a good keeper behind him. That's why he looked so good last season with Kaminski there
Every player has bad form. I have had a few bad runs in my time. At one point it got so bad that almost everything hinged on my first touch and pass. There was a particular game when the ball was passed to me from kick off, it hit a divot and went over my foot. My mindset from that point was that this would be a bad game and it was. I don't think it is any surprise that elite level clubs place a big emphasis on sports psychologists. We may benefit from one at the moment because it is clear our team is "in the dumps"

Carter is just suffering a loss of form as they all do early in their careers and it doesn't help when the guy next to you who is supposed to be your leader is all over the place as well.
In the case of Brittain hes been poor for a good while now but when he came playing at rb/rwb he looked good and an upgrade on Nyambe. Then he gets injured and since he came back has been played all over the place and he's another whose confidence is shot.
JDT has had Mowbrayitis with this one just finding places for him instead of getting him back to what he does best.
Every player has bad form in their life tomphil
Carter has been a dependable defender for us since he came into the squad. He's young and has time to learn. There's nothing worse as a defensive player than feeling like you aren't in good nick. Especially in the modern game where you are left exposed. The remit of a defender now is to win their one on ones. Can't be easy when you aren't feeling the best
Last season we had 15 clean sheets and Carter was involved in that
To call him lumbering is just wrong imo. He's not slow or awkward. He's a good player of the ball

Gallagher, Rankin Costello and Pears all need to start and none are probably anywhere near match fit. I doubt the weather will help in getting them up to speed with frozen pitches and the under 21 game being called off.
Rankin Costello looked particularly rusty and unfit at the weekend, they targetted him when he came on and there was one instance in particular where Wallace knocked it round him and sprinted past which showed how far off he was. Still, he is a quality player and so much better than the underwhelming Brittain, or even the lumbering Carter.
Gallagher was less blatantly unfit ans rusty but you could still tell. Still, he offered far more than the other 3 have in many a week. That being said, he might be gone by then in a sale that still has people deluding themselves is part of a plan to make us better and not purely slashing the budget. Pears is crap but less crap than the Swedish clown so thats a no brainer.
We also need Hedges back ASAP. Moran has been a waste of time, soft, lightweight, usually ineffective and not a wide man. Picking a team will be a real head scratcher and not in a good way. Especially with Tomasson too stubborn to move away from a style that alledgedly gets the best out of our team as it drops down the table like a stone.
Underwhelming Brittain and lumbering Carter. Fuck me
It wasn’t long ago you were using them adjectives for JRC. Now he’s quality
Perhaps you should tone it down a bit. You’re the first to call people out for when they got it wrong. Carter has been a good player for Rovers and he’ll be a good defender for a long time too

McFadzean is a crazy signing. We may as well have signed Danny Batth.....................
McFadzean used to play for Alfreton. I played against him in a friendly in either 2009 or 2010. He was a good player at that level to be fair. Think he was playing for England at the same time. He isn't actually that tall for a centre half. Just remember him being a bruiser, which is what defines centre halves at that level. A bit of a bully boy - which I suppose we are missing
