  5. That’s a bold statement. Is that you Glenn?
  6. It’s still a big ‘if’ though at the minute.
  7. Lords is traditionally one of the faster scoring grounds and I think it’s fair to say that the Aussies are deliberately stepping up their run rate in response to what they see England doing.
  8. If you play attacking cricket it means taking risks. I plucked that imaginary scoreline from thin air granted but would you have been happy if we had looked solid and finished around that mark?
  9. The Style Council - Speak Like a Child
  10. Begs the question as to why were England dominating? Also, I cannot believe that people would have preferred us to be 120 for 1 at close of play today with the prospect of another dull day’s play tomorrow while we chipped away at 420? ETA - If Vaughan doesn’t think that was entertainment then he should stay in that miserable county of his. He talks out of his arse more often than not and is very often wise after the event. He’s lucky to still be employed in the game after some of his reported historical comments.

  20. I don't entirely disagree with him as a general point of principle (who would?) - though personally I thought the errors revolved more around the selection of Bairstow as keeper and the reckless declaration. My point about him is he is not and never will be in a position to comment on Joe Root's batting. I believe they both batted at 3/4 and so are directly comparable. One is arguably England's greatest ever test batsman, the other was a flat track bully at county level but when it stepped up a notch into the test arena used to give his wicket away cheaply just when you needed him to fight for it.

  23. Mark Ramprakash was a decent enough cricketer but never someone you could rely on in a crisis and not the first name that springs to mind when I hear the word ‘winner’ tbh.
  24. He was a shagger, that’s for sure!
