    Absolute bellsniff.

It’s the stupidity of his arrogance that is most shocking.

He ALWAYS gives an anecdote or reference to his playing days at every opportunity. But to do it in France v Argentina at the World Cup?

    Lad needs help.

My skybox is refusing to play the national broadcaster to so i am stuck watching the coverage on the BBC. My God you have my sympathies it is awful, from the inane muttering of the studio to the absolute bullshit of having to listen to Danny Murphy.

Think i will get up  on the roof and risk a Rod Hull.

Pele's predictions, always good for a laugh.

The thing with Mascherano is that he hasn't played that position in club football for about 7 years & he doesn't have the legs to play in there now. He should be playing in his best position which is centre back & if he did he would be Argentina's best centre back.

Thats like being the worlds tallest dwarf. A tall dwarf i grant you but still not tall enough to be an owner occupier of an enchanted beanstalk.

Because sick of england looking impressive and people talking the team down and yet the argies and germans scabbing their way out the group..you just know it will be a germany argentina final..cant stand either side..blow in my grandparents are irish so its nothing to do with racism

Then you should be careful how you phrase things. For what its worth Argentina are as good as gone, literally any team in the last 16 will put them to the sword unless there is a marked improvement. For what its worth I think you are stuck with Germany till the semis

Pleased to see them progress. Don't understand the irrational hatred of Argentina. I want to see the greatest player of all time perform and create moments to remember.

Would be lovely to see him match Maradona by single handedly winning a wold cup by himself. Also who do you want to watch play France Nigeria or Iceland or Argentina though I fear I already know the answer to that.

Yep. You knew it was coming, every time Argentina attacked in the last 15 minutes it looked like they were going to score. It was Germany/Sweden all over again. All too reminiscent of watching bigger club/smaller club in the Premier League. I watch the world cup to get away from that, not see more of it.

Nigeria also missed two or three golden opportunities to make it 2-1. They really do only have themselves to blame. Amazing that an Argentina side that got hammered 3-0 by Croatia and drew 1-1 with what has turned out to be a pretty poor Iceland side still came second with a point to spare.

If you ain't good enough you ain't good enough, and Nigeria and Iceland just weren't good enough. Somehow Argentina were, but I think their luck will probably run out in the next round. There are still a lot of problems there.

I agree with all that, Argentina have been terrible. Mascharano is a complete liability. France will beat them even if they dont get out of second gear.

You need to wind your neck in there. Nobody is going along with it except the people who allow comments like that to remain on the site. Your 'paddy' comments are out of order too. No one has even said that.

My comment was in relation to his attitude when Germany got the draw with Sweden and his comments tonight have been truly the lowest of the low. And I stand by it.

Its not even like Argentina are in the process of beating England, where you might think he's had a few and passions are running high, this is just out and out racism.

Because they rely on one player..great attack..poor everywhere else yet people always tip them for every world cup even though they have never been good enough

Champions twice runners up 3 times up, yeah that's right.

I would research the 1994 world cup then revise that nonsense.

I thought it was commonly agreed he had used a cocktail of stuff to lose two stone before the world cup but its a fair point. Wish I knew what he used as I could do with losing a bit myself.

  9. What is with all the hatred of Argentina? Is it really down to Maradona's hand of God? If it is its pretty pathetic. Ireland were eliminated from a World Cup by a handball by Henry for France, I was upset with the player for a while, but to hate an entire nation for 30 years. I honestly don't know what to say. I also at no stage felt that it diminished his quality as a player.

Also, Maradona was caught using cocaine, a recreation drug so "drug cheat" is a load of @#/? and smacks of sore loser syndrome. The number of comments on here about Argentina and Germany over the last two weeks have done this site no credit, we should be bigger then this. A laugh at one of your big rivals losing is fine but there have been some really nasty stuff. Being Irish I like to see my team beat England (whats seldom is wonderful), but I would not sit and listen quietly to one of my friends talking about "disgusting English" I would tell them to grow up.

It's quite funny seeing internet world cup logic:

Supposedly Panama, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Egypt are terrible teams that's why Russia and England got through so easily . . .

Yet, when it's Spain and Portugal struggling . . equally as crap teams like Iran and Morocco are supposedly almost World beaters. ?

I agree, you can only beat what's in front of you. And England crushed Panama and Tunisia. I think the reason England were so good is that the weaker nations are not able to handle the constant stream of crosses and were also shit-scared of Kane, they seem much better equipped to handle the passing game of Spain etc. as that is more of what they are used to.

Quieroz, the Iranian manager is Portuguese... so Ronnie's a superstar, that is so, but Nani in the last Euro and in the 2000s, Deco, Figo and those others, they have had a lot of fine players.

Nani, really? In the same breath as Ronaldo and Figo.

Nani is to Ronaldo what Carlton was to the Fresh prince... see what I did there :)

  12. Surely to God this Argentina team should be doing better then this. I know people are saying the def is not great but they are not losing games 4:3.

They have about 500 million of attacking talent between Messi/Aguero/Higuan/DiMaria/Dybala any coach that can't get goals from that should be dragged into the street and shot.
