I notice nobody has bothered to predict the team yet. It will be interesting to see if Nyambe is back in favour or not.

If he picks the team based on performances in the last match, Mowbray will have some explaining to do if Nyambe is left out again.

It's impossible to guess the team lol

I've said before that I think the club have known for a while that Nyambe won't sign a new contract. Whick makes him easy to drop.

I fully expect him to be sold on the cheap in the summer

Who took us down? Coyle may have started the process but he didn’t finish it. We had a chance to stay up, lack of ambition in games such as Preston and somebody else , fails me, but anyway we drew 0-0. Relegated. I don’t see much particularly good that any journeyman manager wouldn’t have been able to do. Not my head that needs wobbled, it’s your tinted specs . Open your eyes lad

Leeds spend 3 seasons in league one how many 'journey men' managers did they go through. What about Sunderland?

Maybe you need to take your doom and gloom specs off and realise that alot of good work has been done during Mowbrays tenure.

Failure from his appointment. Relegated us. Yes we got promoted from league 1 but the football was horrible, no style , no plan, we got up in spite of him. Had a big budget and players too good for the division we didn’t need to sell. Two further years of poor quality football, false dawns, missed opportunities all while not having to sell and opportunity to spend. All in all, failure

Coyle relegated us. TM near pulled off mission impossible. Everything good that has happened has been in spite of Mowbray everything bad is because of him. Five tour head a wobble

Because he is still here after 4 painful years. Of course nobody is actually unsackable however but I’m sure you knew that or do you just miss exaggeration for effect

Four painful years. Yep it was so painful getting promoted from league 1 at the first attempt. And 2 subsequent seasons of consolidation in the championship were also acceptable to most. It's only this season that things are starting to stagnate.

    **Tin hat on**

I'll probably get slated for saying this but I want Mowbray out far more than I ever wanted Coyle out or arguably even Kean out.

The reasoning behind this seemingly insane statement is that imo it's a full two years since it became blindingly obvious he was out of his depth at Championship level and needed to be replaced.

With Coyle we were usually well in games until one or more pieces of calamitous defending invariably cost us and I never thought we played that badly under him or that the players ever stopped playing for him.

Even Kean had us in 5th or 6th when he was sacked. That was relatively early on in the season and would probably have got worse but it's still a position TM could only dream of.

If Mowbray had have been replaced two years ago I'd have had full respect for the job he did in stabilising us and bringing us back up. Instead it just seems to me he's been in full self preservation mode ever since with this "jam tomorrow" "slow build" crap to explain away his ownfailings. As a result I've grown to really dislike him and nothing in his managerial stats in the meantime has persuaded me I'm being unreasonable.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. But imo everything thing with this statement is inaccurate. And actually insulting. He's much much better than Coyle and as far as credibility goes he's light-years ahead of that thing kean. 2 years ago in the championship it was positive and evident that he was building a squad. And we were making progress from where we had been prior to his arrival.

The infuriating thing is now that he has that squad capable of kicking on, he just can't get them gel. As one off his biggest supporters I now believe its time for him to move on and see what happens next in the venkys roller-coaster.

My money says it won't get any better but let's just see.

Sorry lads, but hes not going anywhere. Do you even think Venkys watch the game? Waggot will just feed them shit

They must be watching or at least have someone watching for them. They have forked out money this season when most other clubs are penny pinching.

Worrying thing is maybe this was the last roll off the dice and watch Kaminski, dack, arma and anyone else worth a few Bob being sold to the highest bidder in the summer.

God only knows what goes on behind the scenes at ewood

See I agree about Venkys but then no other manager would play Buckley or Gally at rb and Elliott as a false 9. Literally none. So even if the next guy isn't the level we would want he cannot make dafter decisions.

Gally at rb is like having a taxi driver who drives with his eyes closed. Doesn't matter how great the car he has assembled or how good his manouvreing is when he is focussed, they are a liability and a danger for you. Same with TM - regardless of squad or past achievements when you play your striker at rb you know that you have issues.

Remember how bad it was when GB got the sack. Berg, Appleton Lambert and finally ending up with Coyle. That's the route I fear we will take again if TM goes.

That’s fair. But I’d argue he need us just as much as we need him. Where’s his incentive to earn the contract?

He didn't need an incentive as many teams would have snapped him up for a free on his past performances alone. The contract gave us protection, which to give dack credit he seems to like us and probably wouldn't have wanted to walk away on a free.

Great to see Dack playing and Douglas back too but that side doesnt look balanced.

Dack in front of Travis and Davenport leaves Gallagher on the wing, no thanks.

The worst scenario is Dack false 9, Armstrong and Gallagher on the wings.

And the box midfield rarely works and would leave Dack too wide.

It'll be Gally on the wing, that only works one game in ten.

  10. Feeling very positive I think we will come away vicorius in a 4 or 5 goal thriller.

    Kaminski

    Nyambe

    Douglas

    Lenihan

    Branthwaite

    Travis

    Rothwell

    Elliott

    Dack

    Brereton

    Armstrong

Makes me sad that it was this game last season that I last stepped foot on Ewood to see my team play. What I would give to be attending a game home or away. A large cold stash of beer and a home win on sky sports will have to do. #rovers

Highlights that we just aren't quite there yet at both ends, nil nil would have been fair enough. Need to be nicking games like that or a least drawing them though.

Still feel though that the continued stuttering is partly down to tactics and lack of fluidity in the team. Coupled with the lack of ruthless bullishness from top to bottom you need to chase promotion.

Far too happy to plod along just hoping them make a raft of changes and hope a bit more. Far more effective would be more balance in the system and get in the oppositions faces.

Neither the team or manager has it in them though unless their backs are against the wall.

We are not far off, we have proved we can compete with the top teams in the league. It must be a mental block that every time we get close to the top 6 we flop.

Plenty more twists and turns left this season. But anything other than top 6 this season is failure
