  1. From what I’ve read, the ref called the game off as he was concerned about player safety. If that’s the reason, why didn’t he consult with the two managers and if both were happy for the game to go ahead then do so, especially with lots of fans already in the ground.

  3. Wharton played well overall, but needs to learn how to head a ball In the right direction at set pieces.
  4. Watching Duggie back in the 60’s, you just took it for granted that he was going to skin the defenders and put in a pinpoint cross almost every time he got the ball. I so much miss “proper” wingers these days.
  5. When I first saw this thread I had to check the calendar to make sure it wasn’t April 1st. In over 60 years of following footy I have never once given a thought about what type of nets have been used. However, fair play to anyone who has an interest in such obscure things. It takes all sorts as they say. As long as our players keep on putting the ball into the back of the net, I won’t mind what type it is.
  6. Absolutely brilliant. Such a shame that her lunatic husband all but destroyed her early career. A true survivor, nonetheless.

  9. Without trying to be too morbid, what music would you like to go out to? As people are filing in, I would like “Festival Time” by The San Remo Strings to be played. After the eulogy, I would like everyone to hear/sing along to “Morning Has Broken” by Cat Stevens. Finally, as people start to get restless or realise they are at the wrong funeral, it has to be a Rolling Stones number. I haven’t decided which one yet, but I don’t think “Time Is On My Side” would work. Maybe Stonesrick could offer some ideas. So, come on everyone let’s have some uplifting ideas for your own farewell, it’s not that depressing, certainly not as depressing as Rovers under the Venkys.
  10. When we gained promotion from the old 2nd Division In 1958, it was watched by 56,435 supporters. Rovers winning the match 4-3.
