If you want good players you have to pay money, unless you assume you are far smarter than everyone else in the room. You also have the addition downside that players on free are often far lower in resale value due to them being much older. Out of all the players we have signed I would say that only one has potential for good resale value, Gueye, the one we paid money for

But once again, if you have a well organised scouting team who can consistently hit on free players, then why would you not allow them to spend a bit extra to get that extra quality.
