  1. If they’re going down the line of Sheff United then the wingbacks don’t put crosses in because the wide cb’s overlap them. I don’t recall O’Connell and Halford being renowned for crossing. Best to just let the tactical people do the tactics I guess...we signed anyone yet!?
  2. I said ‘the biggest’ attribute not the only attribute. I agree that the others you mentioned are important too...but as per my initial point, both Bennett and Bell are more suited to being wingbacks than fullbacks...wouldn’t you agree?
  3. I’m not the manager mate. I just pointed out that I thought Bell was more suited to being a wingback than a fullback. Edit - As is Bennett
  4. Biggest attribute for wingbacks is the ability to get up and down. Though crossing desired and defo needs to be worked on... Wonder how that wingback option from Rangers that @Bbrovers2288 mentioned is getting on?
  5. I’m not saying he’s brilliant but his attributes are more suited to wing back than fullback...don’t you think?
  6. Can’t get the link.. edit - now it’s working thanks.
  7. Not sure mate. Only a hunch tbf. Maybe because we haven’t had the players available? First few friendlies are primarily just fitness (getting minutes). Maybe they’re looking to transition from 433. But the squad shape certainly lends itself to that formation...no out and out wingers. Fullbacks with legs who prefer going forwards than defending. If we add Ada plus another then we’ve got 6 who can play in those positions...interesting
  8. Yeah and that’s in spite of the obvious differences in opinion. The forum is very good imo.
  9. Be Adarabioyo / Nyambe and Williams / Mulgrew as it stands!! ???
  10. If you’re playyng the Sheff United way it’s the left and right centre backs who cross the ball!!! ???
  11. They triggered his contract after Raya asked to leave. Just to back themselves up. Fully expect him to leave if / when they secure both primary targets. My guess is that they’ll offer to rip his contract up and remove the fee. He has options.
  12. Just from what I’ve seem tbh. Big character too. Very different from Raya.
  13. I’d say the incoming keeper is well into his 30’s and expected to have one, max two years in them. Foderingham will be looking to fight that keeper for the number 1 spot. This massively strengthens our GK situation. For what it’s worth I think Foderingham was the one they wanted to bring in to compete with Raya. He’s very solid and commanding.
  14. I reckon it’s Foderingham and Adarabioyo today but they seem confident now about the main keeper too...hopefully all three!? ?
  15. I think it’s very likely now that we’ll get both. But either way, In terms of what we are looking for, Foderingham would absolutely be an upgrade on Raya. Experienced, dominant keeper.
  16. I don’t particularly rate either Bennett or Bell as out and out fullbacks but I do think they’re both very well suited as wing backs tbh.
  17. Interesting day ahead. Adarabioyo is the young loan and Foderingham looks like the ‘other’ keeper being brought in. But that still leaves the no.1 Keeper Target (expected on loan / free) and an experienced CB to be conformed.... The Keeper is reportedly Carson but I think there’s potentially a massive twist here because of how quiet they’re keeping it. Sharpe doesn’t think their first choice is Carson anyway.... The defender has been rumoured to be Dann or Skrtel but again I think this is wide open.. What I am quietly confident about with the targets in mind, the references that TM made about Sheff United and the intro of Jonty into the first team squad is that we are developing into a three at the back with wing backs team. RCB - LCB = Adayarabioyo / Nyambe / Lenihan / New / Mulgrew / Williams. That leaves Magloire and Grayson to go on loan and play 30 odd games with a view to coming back next season. Wharton isn’t good enough imo. Wing backs - Bennett / JRC - Bell / Hart
  18. I was there too. Yes in March he wasn’t ready. Neither was Magloire. But that will be 5 months since come the start of the season
  19. They think he might be ready mate. Impressing in preseason. I hope they do trust him. Still have Travis, Johnson, Rothwell, Downing, Evans and Bennett as well as Buckley to play in there. (Not including Smallwood).
  20. I was there too. It was awful. Mowbray was 100% at fault because the team was set up to play to a big guy and then he withdrew the big guy...which made no sense! It would be like Klopp setting up as he does and then sending direct balls into Firmino. The difference now (if we’re going down that route) is that the team will be no longer set up to hit those direct balls but to progress into the pockets and play higher up the pitch..
  21. If Davenport injury is serious I’d push Buckley up rather than buy Adam personally
