I think you probably underestimate the calibre of Chris Hughton - I doubt he needs the money and I don't think he would demean himself working at a club where there's probably very little money available and he's not allowed to have complete control over transfers.

As for Johnson there's no evidence that he would be a significant upgrade on the present manager - people only put his name forward because he's a popular former player for the club.

You are like a miserable record stuck on repeat. Negative.

Weve a great stadium, great facilities and academy, great nucleas of a squad, top half championship. We are an attractive proposition. We are a former PL winner many would enjoy coming here for the challenge,

8 years on, never even had a job laying out cones in the UK since, considering just how morally corrupt football is and he’s still beyond the pale, says it all...

He applied for the job at Bury. They laughed him out of the place. His name is mud in uk football.

Couldnt even get an interview at a L2 Plymouth a few years ago.

Ke*n still spouting his rubbish. Don't have the stomach to listen to the podcast myself.

Just comparing his quotes now:  “There have been a few challenges I’ve faced but one of the hardest was when I was at Blackburn and I had a situation with Michel Salgado – if he played one more game then he had an automatic one-year extension on his contract. The owners couldn’t afford that, or didn’t want to afford it, and they told me I couldn’t play him again.

To back then: "He's got every chance of playing, He's got a contract that's still in place. We were a bit disappointed with the way that was reported because we thought we were giving Michel the respect to go back (home)."

    What a scumbag.

He our club treated that guy like shit in the end.

A former winner with Real Madrid in everything a glatico.

Thankfully he’s rather fond and speaks well of our fans

Sick and tired of reading what, IMO, is just bullsh1t and soundbites from Mowbray.

IMO, he offers no hope just excuses for mediocrity at best.

We need someone with a 'can do' attitude, who exudes positivity and can fire-up the football club and its fans.

I actually can’t stand him now. Just get him out

    Defenders are coming

He’s close to signing he’s ready to sign any day now. It’s a long contract but it will be signed in  24 hrs

If there was more due on the pitch Junior scores that.

    No I didn’t see a plane I don’t know what it said

I give you Tony Kean Mowbray

The whole set up needs a shake up from top to bottom.

I remember listening to Radio Lancashire one  Saturday afternoon. The dingles were getting battered at half time at home to some no mark team like Gillingham. Stan Ternent, who hadn't been there long, had made all his subs at half time. I caught the interview after the game. You could tell he was absolutely furious, he said said " There were players out there today that will never play for this club again as long as I am the manager. I will never, ever, accept lack of effort from any player ".

One or two he was criticising were high profile players but a bit long in the tooth and as far as I know they never did play for the dingles again.

That's what we've been short of, some straight talking.

I love a Stan story tbf

    None apart from Downing maybe

    Samuel needs to go

If you release Graham and Samuel you probably then need to sign another two strikers which ain’t happening is it after BB, AA and SG. So samuel whilst no cost is a cheap 4 th striker 5th maybe for a year.

Allows us to prioritise the budget elsewhere. Downing since Xmas has been finished for me. There’s no role for him here, too slow and ponderous for CM, we don’t play with wingers, definitely not LB material.

    This is a great point.

Mowbray himself said at Blues Bar in Feb. last year that he was brought to the club to keep us up that season.

    He failed.

Safety was within our grasp (relegated on goal difference) but, IMO, too many tactical blunders and game management decisions cost us badly.

Correct and agreed. Nigel Cloughs rag tag burton side managed more points. I swear we had a game in hand and played them midweek for Tony’s first game too which we drew.

Too many Tony romanticists on here.

" The EFL’s rules only require the prospective owner to show that they have the money to fund a club. They do not have to furnish any proof that they actually intend to do so...

The chair of the House of Commons culture committee, Damian Collins, has proposed a sensible plan under which government aid would be forthcoming for clubs in return for them submitting to a tough new watchdog called the Football Finance Authority...

The names and the histories of Bury and Wigan belong to the town, not to a fly-by-night property speculator or a Hong Kong real estate broker. This is also a clue to what has to happen next. As hard as it is to do, the fans of Bury need to let the club go. Wigan has not quite reached that point yet and let’s hope the club can be wrestled from the hands of its asset-strippers. But in Bury, change is now stirring. A phoenix club is being created, to capture and resume the idea of Bury Football Club. The Bury Times carried an advertisement in recent weeks for a manager, so it is not too late to apply."

Article by Philip Collins, Bury lad and columnist at The Times here

I wouldn’t trust Damian Collins ? to open a door. He couldn’t give two craps about rovers situation when serving with Tracey crouch.

End of the day if a footballer posts the usual ‘we go again’ after a stinker of a performance they are going to get pelters. Not nice, and of course would anyone say anything to his face? But unfortunately that’s the nature of the beast. It’s a cesspit of cranks and trolls, what does he think will happen?

He knew it, but posted the platitude anyway, but he also knew he’d get the ‘I apologise for all the scumbags, love you Benno’, ‘you’ve been a major part of our transformation back into that mid table Championship club we’ve been for a decade’.

All a bit of a  pathetic spectacle all round, but people need those serotonin inducing ‘likes’...

Oh and as for Myers, his ongoing doling out of patronising advice to fans of little old Rovers is wearing very thin.

Sick of the player sound bites I want them banned of social media to much pontificating! Get in with the job your paid to do!

Wasn’t  Myers engulfed in shall I say extra activities? Wasn’t he also the one who originally interviewed the raos on before premier relegation and hence how they struck up a friend ship?

Stuart Harvey is in charge of recruitment at Ewood, so I guess in charge of the setting up of the European scouting network. I'll tell you right here and now, if anyone is pinning their hopes on that bearing fruit, if it's even happened at all, prepare to be disappointed.

Stuart Harvey who is he exactly?

He signed a new contract last season. It was insultingly short. It expires again summer 2021 I believe, if there's no hidden extension.

So signs on a short term deal despite playing 80 games at that point swaps agent mid way through this season whilst sitting in the bench, now demeaned as a man for not having “confidence”? Rovers twitter had a clip of rhino chasing back and clearing in gallivant manner last week. Seems we are all missing something and the denominator is Mowbray.

    Whos Rayas agent?

Something stinks seriously with Tony. We already know HSH sports and there Bereton prior to wasserman, Smallwood and co shared the same agent ex SEM and coyle man Dave Sharon Craig Honeyman.

Rovers are swimming in the same soup just a different blend and far as I’m concerned. No wonder we don’t move from crown and hsh players and managers and that’s why we won’t be going anywhere in a hurry.

You see, I don’t think this forum is representative as the fans as a whole.
You only need to look at the Facebook groups, the official pages on social media and the LT comments section to see that.

Many won’t accept any criticism of Mowbray, which is frustrating.
Many are over critical and many under critical.

Controversial, but I think that league one season did Mowbray the word of good and some dismiss any criticism of Mowbray as over the top and ‘it’s all Mowbray’s fault’.
No room for discussion, people are that entrenched in their views. For balance, that cuts the same, the other way.
Maybe it’s just representative of modern society....

I’d have sacked him when he relegated us with less points and a game in hand than Nigel coughs burton achieved tbh

    Indeed.

Just to add to the misery of some of your stats...... 2 wins in 11 matches, conceded first goal in the last 8 games straight........and how many goals have our 12 million strikeforce duo scored in the last 11 matches?!

Once, one solitary goal from Gallagher against Swansea.

So...our defence is failing.... our attack doesn't score goals....and we don't win football matches.

But apart from that, we're smashing it.

And people are wondering why many of us are questioning the manager.

I'd be surprised if any club with those performances didn't have their manager under the spotlight.

    Your time is now Suhail

Think Mulgrew might find getting paid £1million or so next season, for doing nothing but keeping fit, to be quite an attractive proposition.

Same as Mowbray's contract - IMO, Waggott needs metaphorically shooting for signing them off.

We all said it at the time it was barmy it’s cost the club 2 million of debt easy.
