tony is undoubtedly a nice fellow but im`e struggling to respect his management, this will be a bore draw of unepic proportions

We call him Tony Slowbray in this house, slow football, slow to react to anything, slow subs, slow accent, slow to change or read what the opposition is doing etc

Not sure that really makes sense tbh.

If he’s a confidence player, then the manager needs to work with him on that.

It makes more sense that your post on Dack to be fair ?

If he’s a confidence player who’s perennially injured as his 13 starts all season support, we don’t need him around. He’s 22/23? Probably 100 appearances or more? If he’s got that attitude it won’t change and a team like rovers cannot keep carryIng passengers especially in a post COVID world, he needs to man up shape up or we get him gone. Everton I heard had looked at him last summer.

If WBA go up which looks like they will, Bilic will be fishing in entirely different markets.  Dack will no longer be on the shopping list.  He owes us a final season and Mowbray needs to maximise it.

We won't see the coin anyways, they won't trust him with it any longer.

We can’t set a budget atm as we don’t know ffp and the COVID impact fully, nothing has been released officially from the efl. we are creaking on the edge of maximum losses as it was back in January so Dack was always being sold to limit those losses and bring us back under the threshold. Now god knows? That’s why we signed Holtby who also now only has 12 months left

Don't agree, give him a pay rise until the summer 21 and go for promotion with him. He only cost 750k anyway.  We need quality to get promoted.

He’s no intention of signing that is pretty clear. Wanted a moved to wba before his injury.

if chaddy is correct that the club has another option then that’s a game changer but I’ve seen nothing official to suggest so Maybe one for the LET paper to ask Tony? We were going to sell in January for the ffp calculations before his injury. Now with COVID this could actually help keep him.

Big question where does Dack fit into this 4-3-3 formation if that's going to be the way we set up next season

We were to link to O'Hara a couple of weeks ago.

Woodman has 12 months left on his contract. Plus Bruce has signed Mark Gillespie from Motherwell to be 3rd choice next season so don't know where he fits in. If he was available I would imagine Swansea would want him. He knows Cooper very well from under 19's days with England

Not seen the Ohara links but hope we take a look, thanks.

Dack doesn’t, hes gone for me. He’s not signed his contract he’s fit end of August. Time to listen to offers so we ensure we get some money for him rather than zero. He’s 12mths left under contract.

The end to this season is reminding me me plenty of the Bowyer season where we almost got in the play offs. I remember watching us put 4 past Birmingham away in the first half and being more concerned about 4 or 5 other teams results than enjoying ours!

In the end though it didn't matter as the horrible Yeovil and much much worse Sheffield Wednesday results took it beyond us. I expect this season will be the same with Wigan and Barnsley, but it looks like they're doing a good job of just about keeping our hopes alive by a slither until the final moment.

Watford and Brighton last two games which we fluffed ??‍♂️ Remember it well

If Graham and Dack as a partnership isn't going to make a return (whether Graham leaves, Dack leaves or we just don't go that way anymore), I can't see why 4-2-3-1 would make a return either.

The real question is that if 4-3-3 is the new way forward to get the best out of Rothwell, Armstrong, Travis and Davenport... then how does Dack slot in?
Do you go for it and play him a striker and see how he gets on, or drop him deeper into the middle three and he's Downing's natural replacement?

Kind of agree I prefer 4-4-2 , 4-3-3 4-5-1 4-2-3-1 are all the same formation with attacking and defending and all are prone to pace out wide and counter attacks.

  8. Is woodman on loan at Swansea? Would take him over Walton next season

Rhodes instead of graham who will have his transfer fee to Sheffield weds fully amortised in the summer so Sheffield weds can now offload for free without writing any further value off and affecting ffp.

I would also take Kieran Ohara the young goalie released by Man Utd, him and Hilton to battle for no. 2. Two caps for EIRE already and about 100 league one And two appearances. Including player of the year at Macclesfield. Played forty times last year at burton. 6.3 tall too so he has the height, I hope we can at least trial him.

    Woodman

    Ohara Or Macgilvan from Pompey

    Hilton

Would be a uplift on our current keepers and probs cost the same?

George tanner released too, think we were linked in January? Ethan Hamilton too who also did well at Bolton.

There’s a video on Twitter that is meant to be of Rick Parry (can only see his horrendous sandals) saying there’s rumours that the Wigan owners placed a big bet on Wigan to be relegated

IEC owns casinos in Manila. 6! Days ago they bought a 392 bedroom building to match a hotel they owned.

That's the key mate. The problem I had was that construction sites were effectively told to stop working by the government (though it was officially 'guidance' and not 'the law', which in itself is confusing), and some of the FM claims have been laughable (to me), but the lawyers seem to think that the contractors' claims might have some mileage so we have had to renegotiate a few things.

You are quite correct in saying that basically in Lehman’s terms your right.

Its all about how unforeseen matters are and how contracts have been structured surprisingly in construction the JCT series (mostly building) are probably better than the NEC (engineering) during this crisis.

Il be honest seen a few go this week not good. Day of tomorrow as it’s been a mentally exhausting few weeks. As someone who originally flagged live on bbc Lancashire forum coverage out dubious season ticket mortgaging loans which since then has not been repeated and dealt with the efl personally, I will as of this evening be offering my support in anyway I can to help The Wigan supporters trust with anything I maybe of use with!

  12. Force majeure won’t work at all. I’ve had to deal with a few claims for this in contracts over the last two months along with extension of times etc and it’s quite clearly an opaque term. Usually we’d schedule out what would constitute a FM event like terror attack, tornado weather, etc. Very few will have Illness.

Technically Covid isn’t an act of god either, The arbitration panels have ruled Covid isn’t FM but it’s down to the way a contract is specifically interpreted.

In November 2018, Whelan sold Wigan Athletic to Hong Kong based International Entertainment Corporation and then there was a further change of ownership, a few weeks ago, when Next Leader Fund took control.

That’s two changes of ownership in eighteen months. The fit and proper test still working wonders then..and just look at the names of the buyers. Faceless non entities. Not local, no connections to Wigan, just more piggies thinking they can get their snouts in the trough.

It’s the same owners. Stanley Choi was putting in 1million extra a month as that was the deficit on top of other funding. Now he’s pulled the plug, IEC own the next leader fund, the HK national who runs the fund was also a shareholder in the parent company when iec first bought Wigan.

The company what owns the club is in administration it the company what owns the ground

Would a different manager not get more out of the likes of brereton, rothwell, gallagher and play anyone but beno at Lb. I feel like a different manager playing a different system, getting the most out the current squad round pegs in round holes etc. would need to make far fewer signings than tony would in order to get a bit of excitement back in the fans. That in itself is worth the 2m it might cost to sack him.

Tbf Coyle got Gallagher on fire. He did ok at Birmingham but in both his spells under Mowbray he looks suffocated and obviously the goals have dried up

He likes to talk about what an honourable man he is so maybe he will walk. He set a target of 70 points and it is going to be difficult to get that now. Also I think that last night he sounded more than ever before like a man on the edge.

He got money for Gallagher and wages for downing and Johnson etc.

he promised the owners a play off spot.

    hes failed, time to go.
