  1. Says plod turned cinema usherette. Marvellous. 318910[/snapback] James, give it a rest will you, its getting boring now.
  2. I cant find a pic of Zero, but heres one of Glenn wearing glasses.
  3. AKA MR Respectable, the guy who claimed to have hacked Roverstalk you mean ? In which case its 99.99% sure
  4. See above post... there are obviously some very good characters on this board. Anyway, what did John tell you in your meeting, or did you not finish college early enough ?
  5. It leaves a placeholder saying you have chosen to ignore "Vinjay", but gives you the option to read the comment by clicking a link. Personally I would find it a waste of energy. Interesting to note that out of all the people who are being ignored by other users, Vinjay seems to be a recurring theme.
  6. Doubt it, he's probably got a college lesson with Lofty now. Walkers out, NOBbys in.
  7. Simple business logic mate. Flybe's biggest operations in the UK are from Birmingham airport, so it makes good sense to increase your profile by sponsoring the local football team. They also sponsor Exeter for the same reason, and i'm sure that as soon as they start flying from Blackburn international they might sponsor us.
  8. Not really no, as its going to be the same timescale as the last few seasons. except after the season we finished 6th where they got out early and we lost season ticket holder.
  9. Brilliant.. all those Mancs at work will be gutted that Liverpool won. Johns sour grapes are the typical reaction from the site troll.
  10. According to several sources including the official site, Matt Jansen has signed a new 12 month contract, with the club having an option of a further 12 months. All at Rovers will be wishing Matt well in his efforts to regain the form that got him in contention for an England place.
  11. I cannot even work out what questions Don is asking.
  12. Ah.. I see.. the button on the right saying reply is actually reply with quote.. the reply to topic button is at the bottom of each page. One to change slightly perhaps.
  13. Missing avatars and smilies need uploading again I'm not happy at all with the look atm.. skinning up is in progress. theres a few strange things like quoting messages that will take getting used to.. ie clicking quote and then reply (unless we can sort that)
  14. Philip - you can use the menu at the bottom of the page which will to jump from forum to forum. I anticipate a few new features.. just give us time to suss them out.
  15. That fits in with the rumours I've heard of the team being away in Germany the 18th - 28th July. We are playing in Circle Bruges, but i'm told thats the youth/reserves, not the first team. I've heard talk of 1860 Munich being one of the games, but I've seen that German clubs play preseason home games away from their usual home. It could have course all be complete rubbish as things will change from one day to the next, so dont plan any dates yet.
  16. The upgrade should happen anytime over the next couple of days now Then theres the skinning and enabling new features to follow.
  17. Whilst this appears to be rather amusing at the moment, there is one potential issue that would affect rovers. How will he pay back the loans ?? Well, the most marketable thing they have are the TV rights, currently the collective bargaining system ensures all premier league clubs get a decent deal. If this was to be scrapped, then its potentially devastating for clubs with Rovers appeal outside Lancashire.
  18. That would be the Gilpins Bell. As you say it is packed Theres the Red Lion which was a decent pub. We went to the Victoria an irish bar, just 5 minutes away. <<< Click Here >>>
  19. Following this weekends happenings, we've had a rethink on the upgrade plan, and we are going to start it ASAP. There are a few things needing fixing that we would have to fix again upon getting the new board. We MAY be offline again for a while.

  21. Preview by Alan75 With just two games left it’s vital that Rovers beat Newcastle if there’s any chance of winning the championship. The draw against Leeds, 1-1 and two defeats City 3-2 and West Ham 2-0 has resulted in Rovers dropping 8 points allowing Man U to close the gap. Fifty years ago on the 8th May 1945, thousands of people gathered on VE Day to celebrate Victory in Europe, when the people of Blackburn and the rest of the country partied well into the night. There was joy, laughter and tears shed that night and for the following days, resulting in many a fair maiden remembering that night 9 months later. A result of one of them liaisons was Oozzurpa Davy a life-long Newcastle fan since his mother partied with the Toon Army on VE night 1945. I caught up with Davy, whilst he was delivering Newcastle Brown to the pubs in Ossi on Tuesday and asked him about the forthcoming game at Ewood. Whats your opinion of Rovers. Not a lot, they tend te be driven me middle aged blokes in hats in the middle raa o the motorway No I mean Blackburn Rovers. So whats your opinion of them. As Ah sez middle o the road, horf built grund ne fans Will you be going to the game against Rovers. aye ah will be gannin, me mate Oz is working as a brickie on the site so ah will get in fre free Do you expect a large following of Newcastle supporters at Ewood. Wor the best supporters in the league, wi tyek a lot of fans te every game an the Toon Army will be in stowed voice. Who do you see as Rovers danger man. Well wor lad Shearer has te be the main threat an tha Sutton fellow is a git big handfull. Hooevah if wi can stop Wilcox an the refugee frem Boro getting crosses in then the supply te the two strikers will be stopped an there will be ne danger Would you be happy to loose if it ment Rovers beat Man Utd to the title. Wi allways want te win although wi hate M U, whee doesnt. Wi will gan oot te win at aal costs even if it does mean M U winning. So whats your prediction for the game. Yer goal keeper is a weak link Wi will win bi 3 goals At this point he jumped back in to his wagon and drove off up Tinker Brew, shouting out Toon Army. Hopefully his prediction is wrong, and we can celebrate our own VE Night, Victory at Ewood and there will be a few more Rovers supporters in 9 months time. How do you see the game going.
  22. At this moment I would say we are not in any immediate danger as our host is very amicable and knows exactly what is going on. They were very understanding when our traffic shot up by a factor of 100 after Souness left. IF that was any of our previous hosts we would have been shut down immediately and left to attempt to recover the entire lot from nothing. However I cannot be sure of finances, as Paul handles all the cashflow side of things and lets me and Glenn get on with breaking the messageboard. Everything we spend goes on improving the site - Licensing the messageboard gives us free upgrades by their technicians, Fixtures cost money. Ideally we would like to make this site self financing and never rely on donations, however this quarter we got less than 20 quid from Amazon affiliates.. if everybody who used this site clicked the affiliate link, then this would be a good start to making things self financing. If anybody spots any other good affiliate links we can use, then feel free to point it out. Perhaps we should also should shout more about this, maybe by editing posts in the music forum to point directly to say the albums mentioned etc.
  23. If there was a preview option then that would help us. We won't know for sure until we go live. Biddy mentions a filter.. well its supposedly already got one, but it wont resize the avatars. We can certainly limit the actual size in bytes though which might help
  24. Thats the 64000 dollar question. I'm hoping it will be a reasonably short amount of time before we let people back on a board. There will however likely be an amount of work in progress ongoing afterwards - ie skinning, and testing of new feature in situ. I dont think we will run with a test board and the old board while we develop as we have in the past. The guys who write the messageboard software offer free upgrades as part of the license, so we may as well use their technical nouse.
  25. Most of your points will be fixed by the new messageboard We removed anonymous users as for some reason it stopped working, and we felt it unfair on those who need to keep their status quiet (btw.. Admin can AlWAYS see who is online). Its down to us as admin/mods to move the preview/report threads into the match report section. One more for the list.
